I hope whatever they have you do can help you. At least you have help and some supervision if you are trying meds and all.

I am trying to prepare my self for monday. that will be the start day.
I managed to go down to about one a hour for two days and cracked up on the third day, so it is just to start again.
bit unclear this, on monday I will start the those anti smoking pills. Not knowing how they work I thought that some preparation would be necessary. I am doing this with the mexican health team to wean people off drugs and smoking also booze first two times they do a assessment of your condition. the next meeting I will get the prescription for the champix. But I pay. they do not like self inflicted damage.
strange the things that provoc one to smoke in between the self imposed time frame of one hour. Just have to learn to deal with it, which means replace that relief valve of smoking. some say drink water others say breath deeply. Have to try both in future.thanks

This will be difficult. nobody here will deny that fact, but we can all agree that you will thank yourself later for making such an effort here to quit. Some here have used pills, some patches, some natural treatments but in the end it is how you feel and respond to the effort. May you find the right way to quit that works for your life and may your progress keep moving forward. I was lucky enough to do it sold turkey, but it seems that that can be a rare case with cigarettes. Keep on trying with your quit!

I smoked for 40 years and quit 4 years ago, cold turkey. I tried probably around 15 times too.
But this time smoking was no longer an option. I just knew that smoking was not my friend.
It was killing me. I was sick of being embarrassed of my smell. And I have smoker lips that I have to look at for the rest of my life. No thanks.

Well after many times of trying to give up smoking, I am going to try again. smoked a pipe for may a year, started on cigs, also had a good appreciation for a good cuban cigar.

Given my Docs assessment of my health, accompanied with constant mutterings about smoking is the cause for most of my problems, I have decided to try again. probable for the 15 time.

It is a bit strange trying to get my head around the fact that smoking is "not normal" as we thought in the 60's. Now when i light up I ask myself why, and puff away.

well I was recommended to see some Doctors, of various disciplines who arrived at a line of treatment that may help. Champix!!
from reading the response to this Pill i notice that, one has to use self discipline for it to work.
Anyway next week I am going to give it a try. I don't know what to expect the only thing I do know is that one part of me says yes and the other is sort of laughing, yea ok!
just have to give it a go.
