Like Lisa, I am new to the non-smoking league. I stopped on Jan 22 this year. So, I am almost one month in.
I am on Chantix. I thought it was very helpful in the first couple of weeks, but I've had more cravings this past week. I don't know how much longer I'll bother with Chantix. (I'll go read posts in that group!)
I picture a $20-bill. I'm not gonna break it on smokes. I'm saving up for jewelry. (At the $40/week I spent on cigs, I can go for some solid gold, not just silver plate!)
I'm not quite confident in being DONE with cigs. So, that's what I have to change: I know I'm not gonna have another smoke; period. I'll talk myself into confidence!

emoticon emoticon Wishing you much success! I quit on Oct. 13, 2008 after 45 years of smoking and it is still the best decision I've ever made. Yes, it's hard (those cravings will come for a long time and you probably will gain a little weight) but you CAN do it. Just fight the cravings (Pledge every day to NEVER take another puff.) You will be able to lose the extra weight if you exercise and watch food portions (and exercise will be much easier when you can breathe!)

I am not very active in this team (since I quit so long ago), but will be as much support as I can. Do this for yourself - it really matters!!

Thank God in all things!

Hi I'm Lisa. Today is my first day of quitting. I'm hoping that maybe I could get some tips and support from being on this team. I've tried quitting before but always went back to smoking because I would start gaining weight from eating too much and I don't really have supportive people in my life.
