Welcome everyone. Somehow I was not getting reminders about this thread (got off the list).

Leslie, there is no problems with doing more than your tiny habit (e.g. flossing all your teeth not just one). The trick, is no matter how difficult life gets, we must do the tiny habit. That is the way to get them to stick even when life events/changes tries to derail us.

Some new habits quickly take root and we do them all the time, some we have to play with that recipe more to get them to stick.

Hi all. I am reading Tiny Habits by Fogg and am getting inspired. I love getting up in the morning and starting off by saying its going to be a great day! I'm joining this group to see what habits you're creating and also to add any that I come up with.

I already added his habit of flossing, but decided to do all my teeth. Overachiever?! No, I just couldn't see "wasting" a piece of floss on one tooth.

I'm pretty bad about drinking enough water every day. One habit I'm trying is that every time I pee, I drink a glass of water afterwards. Easy to do as I wash my hands after peeing and my glass is sitting next to the sink. So far, its working great except that I'm going to the bathroom more!

I'm not too far into the book yet, but what is really resonating with me so far is to make a new habit "stick", tie it to an existing habit or activity.. This is the hook for long-term success.

So excited!
Leslie

I have no experience with BJ Fogg, but have reviewed some of his concepts. I just retired (I'm 70 and have worked since I was 15) and think this will get me on track in an easy, life sustaining way. My life has been out of control for so long and this will be one of the tools to get back to where I want to be.

Thanks,
Brenda

I have no experience with BJ Fogg other than a therapist told me to buy the book and read it. I am going to do that starting today with help from the articles in this group. Thanks for your support and help. I will update when I have more experiences and let them know how they go.

My name is Dee.
I had never heard of BJ Fogg until I read Jane's blog. I've ordered the book and it should arrive Saturday. I'm hoping to learn how to permanently change my habits. I've been able to change how I eat or create an exercise habit or give up diet soda for a short time, but then I revert back to my old ways.

I've read/listened to Automic Habits by a different author, but similar mindset. I have never read/listened to BJ Fogg before buying this book (Kindle & Audible).

I have read the introduction and first chapter, working my way through the 2nd chapter now. I am impressed by his credentials and the length of his studies. He also explains this in a way that makes sense to me.

I listened to a podcast by Chalene Johnson with him as a guest and loved it. Looking forward to learning more.

I bought the audible. I'll start it soon.
It came with a pdf file.

I have no previous experience with this author though I have read other books on tiny or small or little habits.

I do not know much about Tiny Habits other than an article I read recently. You take small steps and that it helps to incorporate your new habit in an established routine.

I have followed BJ Fogg and his Tiny Habits work on and off over the last few years.
I have done his free 5 day program twice - the first time a few years ago and the second time a couple of months ago.
BJ released a new book and I really like the way he explains things, it seems much more clear than my previous interactions with his material.

I bought his book (kindle and audible) and I am starting to listen to it/read it.
I have done the toolkit that came with the book.
I have signed up for the free talks he will give, one for each chapter, for those that bought the book early on (before Jan 14, 2020).

Update 2/12/20:
I am reading BJ Fogg's book www.tinyhabits.com . I am really enjoying this and how he is communicating much more than I picked up from his previous web pages/videos/free 5 day course.

I have only made it thru the introduction so far...however I also skimmed over the appendix since BJ said it contained very valuable information.

I am also doing the webinar series where BJ talks about each chapter/section of the book. Again we have only done the introduction, however in this one BJ included a brief run thru of how the book was organized and some of the key ideas.

I am especially enjoying the techniques BJ has figured out on making habits that are successful for you and will get you to your goals (even if you have no clue what would work or nothing you tried so far has worked). It is helping with one habit I really want but have been struggling with so far.
