Been on SparkPeople since 2011 with a goal to 'maintain'. Not into 'sweaty' stuff but if I do some moderate exercise and walking and stretching....watch the food ...the tracking available here helps it work.
However, my weight has crept up almost 10 lb and I joined this group (followed Tina) to get an extra push to drop 5 lb.

Work part time in hospital; married 45 years and he has several chronic conditions. We raised 6 children and have 22 grandchildren but only stay in touch with 15 of them.

Hoping to make a few new friends here.

Hi. I'm Em. After losing 70 lbs 4 years ago, I seem to be working on perfecting my skills at backsliding. Maybe a fresh start with a small group will help. I'm 65+, married with grown children an 10 grandchildren, ages 3 years to 20. 8-)

emoticon My name is Tina. I am 44 years old and blessed to be a stay at home wife and mom to my 3 kiddos, ages 13, 11 & 10.

I have been on SparkPeople for many years, but I still struggle with my weight and habits. I lose a bit, gain more back and now I'm near my highest weight ever. I really need to get things under control. My eating habits are terrible, I don't get regular exercise and I am starting to have health problems due to my weight. I'm hoping joining this group will help me with accountability.

I'm looking forward to 2018 and making progress on my goals. emoticon emoticon

Hi !! My name is MaryAnn. I turned 65 in July.
I am married with 4 kids, 11 grandkids and
3 great grands. My newest baby is Rosie, a
Siamese seal point/tiger/calico mix (I have had her
for 10 years at least)

I am currently recovering from my second total
knee replacement this year (May 8th and Oct 4th)
First went really well (surgery and recovery)
second (surgery yes, recovery - not so much)

I have been working on watching how much I eat
(as opposed to what I eat). So far, so good. I have
several motivations for losing weight: my new knees,
diabetes-insulin dependent, kidney damage from
diabetes, etc..

Had been using a fitbit for modifying my sleep problem.
Have been an insomniac since age 10, so it's been
tricky, but am making headway now.

My inconsistency and back-sliding are also a recurring
problem, hence here I am.

Hi everyone!
I'm in my 30's, married with 2 kids, and I work full time. I've struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I'm now at my heaviest weight and I'm not at all happy with the way I look or feel. I am not comfortable in my own skin. And I've started having minor health issues related to my weight. I want to lose weight for more than just looks though. I also want to be healthier and have more energy, for myself and my family.
So far SparkPeople has helped me stay focused and motivated, which is exactly what I need. I'm hoping to make some friends on this site so I have a support system to help me avoid backsliding. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi my name is Terri and I enjoy meeting new people through our local meet up groups here in town. I enjoy hosting game parties, planning meetup groups, cooking, and diy projects I find on Pinterest. I am not folowing a special diet ...just working on little to no sugar in my diet, healthy and mindful eating, and cutting down my portion sizes. My favorite exercise is walking, hiking, and strength training. I recently bought a fixer upper house and am right in the middle of renovation. I have been on sparkpeople for many many years. I finally found my SPARK FAMILY. Due to so many changes in my life....divorce, moving to a new city, buying a home etc. I have gained so much weight. I also injured my knee in Feb. and just now can do more than 5 minutes of cardio.
I am an emotional eater...and eat for all reasons...happy, tired, afraid, excited, etc. I need to seriously log my food and be ACCOUNTABLE for ME!

My name is Leslie and I joined SparkPeople about 5 years ago. I didn't become active until a little over 4 years ago. I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in Dec 2012. I weighed over 300lbs then. My cardiologist put me on a program of heart healthy eating, watching calories and working up to a 30 min walk every day. From end of Dec 2012 to Dec 2013 I lost about 80lbs, strengthened my heart, lowered my cholesterol, my BMI and my A1c. In 2014 I lost another 10lbs and it came off much slower and with much more effort. Over 2015 and 2016 I have slowly gained back about 40lbs. I am still trying to consistently make healthier choices and do my walking but for whatever reason I cannot get the scale to cooperate. My health is still very good and my heart function is also good. I have had no symptoms of heart failure. My best chance though to keep myself symptom free is to ease the workload on my heart which includes reducing my weight. My doctor would like to see me back where I was 2 years ago, and so would I!

I'm really happy to have found this team. I see a few names I know from the 5% challenge too! Right now my goal is to lose 1/2 to 1 lb weekly. I feel confident that is doable for me.That would put me at about 25 lbs lighter when I see my cardiologist again in October. It would also make me feel a lot better.

Just a little about me. I've been married to my most wonderful husband for 25 years in July. We have two quite amazing children, one is 23 and the other is 19, both are in college, one is just about done and one just started. We share our home with a big fluffy great pyrenees named Sulley, a maine coone named Boomer who is 16 and we just adopted a siamese mix kitten named Jack. I volunteer with one of the local animal shelters as a foster kitten mama as well so from time to time we have little orphan kittens that we raise until they are old enough to adopt. We love to take day trips on our motorcycle and we also enjoy thrift store shopping. Besides the fostering, I love to try out and create new recipes, relax with my coloring books and sell stuff on ebay. Glad to be here :-)

Hi! My name is Kim. My husband and I are working on our 27th year of marriage. No kids but we currently have 3 dogs,2 of which are our inside dogs(Chihuahuas). We just recently lost our oldest and first housedog,Dixie. She was 14 years old.I still have days it is hard to deal with the loss.
I just turned 45 years old and am the heaviest I have ever been.I didn't start gaining weight until I got married.I am currently 5'2" and 191 lbs. emoticon I want to get down to at least 145 but to not be overweight, the charts say I need to be a minimum of 136.
My free time is spent working in our vegetable garden and my flower gardens. I also do a lot of volunteer work for my church.I am involved in AWANAS(as the secretary),sing in the choir and my husband and I enjoy helping with a lot of the things that need to be done outdoors.I am a fairly new Christian and thank the Lord daily for the joy He has put in my heart in serving.

I have the hardest time staying away from sweets.... Especially ice cream and chocolate! I also love birthday cake, but it's the icing I am actually wanting...Who cares about the cake...Lol.I also struggle with intentional exercise.

I've done all the fad diets, had success with WW many moons ago and even became a lifetime member but I am a long way from that now. I plan to count my calories and stay in the 1200 range.

I do struggle with occasional panic attacks....The kind that interfere with daily living.I do take medication for it,but sometimes even it's not enough. The only thing good about them is I do lose my appetite...Lol.I also suffer from daily headaches.... Haven't figured out what's causing those yet:/.

I can't think of anything else at the moment..I hope this helps you get to know me a little!

Hi, my name is Marla. I heard about this group while posting a comment on one of your members page and asked her about it and she said join!

When I was young I was skinny, I was raised in a stressful house with parents that drank, I was too nervous to eat (now I eat when nervous, what a change).

Then slowly over many office jobs, lack of exercise, I gained and stayed where I am now in 140's for many years. lost to 120, up to 160, then settled here again. Been yoyo'ing ever since.

Been with my hubby since 1999. I have two girls in 30's from first marriage.

Lately I joined a group because my year off doing intuitive eating just gained me more weight and eating unhealthy.

Sometimes it feels like I will be dealing with old triggers forever. I have been doing mindfulness the past few years and it helps but I still get sucked in.

I am addicted to sugar, and one day will let myself eat whatever I want, the next throwing stuff in the garbage disgusted at my lack of control.

The reason I want to weigh 125 is the way I am built my weight goes to my stomach. Just a few weeks ago in a dance class I got asked for the hundredth time are you pregnant? You are so glowing.

No, I felt like saying that would be a miracle since I turned 60 this year and had menopause a long time ago. I am glowing because I love to dance, its my favorite exercise.

I try to be a positive person and hoping I can be a valuable part of the team.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

emoticon Hi All!

My name is Lisa and I'm a carb-aholic. I haven't met one that I don't like.

I've been married to my husband, Jim for 17 years. I've known him since I was 11! We both grew up in a little town called Diamond Bar, CA. We currently live in Prescott, AZ with our two boys Jake (16) & Justin (12). Their birthdays are Leap Year and April Fools! I tease Jake and tell him that he is my favorite 4 year old. Jake has dreams of being a rockstar, and Justin is our social butterfly. We have two fur babies, Olive the airedale and Kiesel the crazy coonhound. Poor Olive is 9 and Kiesel is a little over a year. She keeps Olive young. My oldest named Kiesel after his favorite brand of guitar.

We just opened up a landscape company. I work from home running the office, and Jim is out in the field.

I'm a big backslider when it comes to losing weight. I'm my own worst enemy. I didn't struggle with my weight until I hit my 40's. My eyesight went and the weight came and stuck. Ugh! I always manage to sabotage myself and I gain back whatever I lose and then some. My downfall is my eating habits. I struggle with portion control and lack of motivation to exercise. I did finally take the dogs for a walk yesterday, but am a mess now with my allergies. Juniper is not my friend. I feed my emotions, I eat when I'm bored or stressed, I eat because I have "craving", I eat when I'm not hungry. I'm just tired of letting food control my life and being in this emotional funk.. I've been so weepy and that is so not like me. I also have had zero patience lately. I feel like I'm a mess!

I'm happy to be a part of this group, and I so appreciate all of your support, Shannon. You always manage to check in on me when I need it most. : )

Hi, I'm Christina. I am Dutch, and live in the Netherlands. I'm 52 years old. I'm married, no children, 3 guinea pigs!

I was in treatment for binge eating in 2015. I learned a lot and my eating pattern has improved a lot but I still struggle at times when I have a lot of stress. In the past weeks the main source of stress for me has been the situation of my elderly parents, they live 1.5 hour drive away and I try to support them as they are going through hard times.

I started two teams, one called 'Guidelines to Overcome Binge Eating', in which I shared what I learned in the treatment, and also 'Breaking the Spell of Binge Eating', which is based on a book by Joanna Kortink.

I hope to be able to give and receive support on this team.

Hi All,
My name is Donna. I am married for 48 years in May. We have one daughter who is married with one son and two step children. I will be 70 in May.
I have battled the bulge since I got married. I can not remember when I haven't weighed over 200 pounds. I am a big emotional eater. I am trying to become more mindful of why I am eating and figure out strategies before hand . I love icing and ice cream.
This year I am going to get below 200. I usual set goals that are too hard to reach and get discouraged and quit. This is doable.
Time to take care of myself and eat a healthy diet. I am having trouble making exercise a regular thing. I am active but must set a specific time.
Looking forward to the support and supporting others on our journey to better health!

Hi All! My name is Diane.
Thanks Shannon for the invitation to this group.

I'm married to my husband, Alan for 30 years come September. We live in Delaware with our dog, cats, and turtle. My only child, DD is married now, and lives about an hour away with her family. And I have a 5yo grandson that visits & stays with DH & I every other week for a couple days.

I work as an IT Project Manager. I work from home just a little over 50% of the time each month. I also work at the client site part of the time as well ... and I live out of a hotel those days.

Exercise is not typically an issue for me. I am onto a new routine this year I am really enjoying. But my backsliding seems to be in that I am a mindless eater when I am bored or procrastinating about something.

Looking forward to being a part of this team.

My name is Susan. I am 60, live in Reno, and have been married to George for almost 36 years now. We have one wonderful son, a beautiful DIL. and an adorable 22 month old granddaughter.

I have been a yoyo dieter for most of my life, but had done pretty well since 2009. In the last year though I have started regaining weight. We travel a lot, like several months out of each year. That seems to be the time I really put on weight, probably due to the temptations and the thought that I really want to experience the places we are visiting without worrying about losing weight. We recently got back from a 2 month trip. Between that trip and the holidays, I regained about 30 pounds. I know I need to work on it because I am worried about the way I feel - sore joints, hard to move, blood sugar too high. I am determined to get back to feeling better.

I just joined because I don't want to be a backslider, but facts are facts. I've been around since 2011, have lost and regained, have gone through spells of faithfully working out and reverting to couch slug, tracking everything and then doing nothing more than logging in and sometimes not that.

I gained 10 lbs last year when my job was eliminated and I had to find a new one. I got remotivated in October when my daughters wanted me to hike with them over Thanksgiving. I bought new boots and started using the little gym at work. I've lost 9 of those 10 lbs, and I really want to keep going and lose the next 10.

Hello! I am married, 34 years old, with a several kids and a few dogs :)

It's been six years since I had my last child, and I have stayed about the same weight ever since. I notice I decide to lose weight, usually when I'm around 194lbs, I follow everything close until I'm down to about 184, then my body plateaus for a little, and I give up. At least five times now that I've done this.

Now, I'm having a bunch of health problems, and need to work on it for health. I'm supposed to go as close to vegetarian as possible, per the docs. I've been doing it, on day 24 today, and have lost four pounds, so currently 186. I just get so frustrated bc I feel like I've restarted so much, so many, "I'll do it this time." So....I have to do it now. I'm trying to be realistic and focus on one pound a week.

Highest weight 238
Weight after last baby 217
Lowest adult weight 177
High school weight 150 (super healthy for me due to height and bone structure)

Goal weight 155

My name is Paula ~ I recently changed my Spark name to LOVELYSPIRIT16 several people mentioned that my old name had negative connotations with it. I really do love the new name and have Steve to be grateful for motivating me to change.

I'm 53 soon to be 54 I am married to the most awesome man there is around. I have been married to him in June it will be 37 years.

We have 2 pets. A miniature super spoiled toy poodle named Blackjack that belongs to my oldest son Kurtis and a cat named Shaylee that belongs to youngest son Jeremy.

I have had many different jobs on and off throughout my life my first one was at 13 they had a special program where they took teens and they cleaned the high schools all summer long. I have worked in housekeeping in hospitals, laundry same hospitals I also have worked full time at a nursing home as a aide, have also worked full time as a cashier at fabric and craft stores. Where you work to turn around and hand it back to them in what you spend there. I have also worked for the state of Utah teaching Arts and Crafts to seniors for a year. This one was the funnest and paid the best while I was having a great time. most of this was done BC ( Before Children )

I have 3 kiddos.. Kurtis 31 will turn 32 in March 15, Melissa 30, teenage son that we adopted from my brother Jeremy is 15 might get to see 16.. lol

My birthday is March 7th I will turn 54

I live in Magna, Utah about 15 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah and about 15 minutes from the Great Salt Lake. It is beautiful here we have all the mountains to see all around the state.

I have a lot of faves when it comes to exercise but being physically limited currently. I am walking with a walker as much as I can. We also have a treadmill to use and an elliptical.. but I have been told no elliptical until we find out what is wrong with my right hip. And I do some Paul Eugene YouTube videos. I do love exercising in the water is it great for my joints.

I love food~ Plain and simple. Pasta, bread and things like that are of course my favorite and weakness right now with all the stress and emotional things going on with Kurtis. I have eaten so many of these tiny pumpkin cookies in just the last 48 hours. It is just plain sad. I binge eat and had to go on medication for it I take VyVanse 30 mg. It does help for the most part but i have not been this upset so we are waiting and seeing how it does after Tuesday..

I love to sew, craft of any type as long as if I do not know it someone is there for help. I love music and getting the house all to myself so that I can crank up what I like and dance around the house having a awesome time..

My name is Terri. I was given the name MULTIMOM when the twins were born in 1992.

I'm newly divorced after 25 years and am learning how to budget.

We have a Bichon named Remi that will be 12 in February.

I am a retired school teacher of 32 years. I taught in Texas, Florida and Arizona.

My twins are great big healthy men. They exercise and eat well. They log their food and exercise daily and are very competitive with each other. Logan is one minute older than Chase. Logan is an engineer for an oil firm in Houston. Chase is getting his doctorate degree to become a dentist in San Antonio. He is in his second year.

My birthday is March 25th and I am 57 years YOUNG>

I live in Waco, Texas. I about 15 miles from my mom and dad and my little brother and his wife.

My favorite exercises are hiking and walking. I love to be outdoors.

I am a cheese lover and probably have 5 kinds in my refrigerator right now. I do log my cheese calories and I do weigh the cheese. I also love icing. Any kind of icing. I have been known to buy it in the cans and eat it with a spoon. I also love cookie dough. I used to make it homemade and just eat the dough. I have been known to buy huge sticks of cookie dough at the store and eat it raw. (My twins love it too.)

I love love love to cook. Just recently, I had friends over to try out my first Paella ever. Needless to say, it was a huge hit. I was luck to find a skillet large enough to cook it in. The Paella had chicken, shrimp, crab, muscles, clams and chorizo sausage in it.

My name is Avery

I'm married

We have a dog named Racer and a goldfish named Root beer.

I have three stepchildren. 2 boys (21 and 15) and 1 girl (she will be 19 the end of this month). We have one son together (10). Our son and my 15 year old stepson live with us.

My oldest stepson has a son who just turned 2 in November, so I'm a grandma too!

My birthday is April 16th. I'm 38 years old.

I live in Northwest Indiana, near Chicago.

My favorite exercises are Yoga, Tai Chi and my exercise bike. I do like walking and hiking also.

I hate counting calories and keep going back and forth with doing it and not. I am currently counting calories and I have been doing it for four months with only 3-4 days that I didn't. I try hard to stay in range. My Dr doesn't want me eating dairy so I'm trying hard to not eat it. Although I'm very addicted to anything dairy. He told me to stop May 2016 and I didn't give it up until August 2016. Since August I have eaten dairy at least on 4 days, maybe more. I have forgotten.

My triggers are sharp cheddar and havarti cheeses, homemade whipped cream, French onion chip dip with plain chips, and chocolate.

I love cooking, even if I'm the only one who will be eating. I make a lot of our food from scratch. Our son has lots of allergies, but not normal ones. He's cannot eat artificial dyes, artificial flavors, most preservatives and chemicals found in foods. He's also allergic to three families of antibiotics so most of the meat we eat is antibiotic free or organic.
