Hi everybody. I joined last week, but this is the first time I actually posted anything. This isn't the first time, not the second, but the third time I've joined SparkPeople. I'm 42-years-old, and I've been dieting since I was about 14- pathetic, I know. I usually start off really strong, but then I lose my motivation.

This time I have to lose weight before my daughter's wedding in August, and I'm already starting off unmotivated. I've been down this road so many times, and quite frankly, I just feel burnt out. Going back to that life of counting calories is just unappealing to me. I don't have a "program" right now, because it discourages me from the get go, so I'm trying to watch my portions and drink more water and less coffee. I've never really been a soda drinker or a junk food junkie, so I can't even blame it on that. I think it's really just portions, and I know I probably have a problem with carbs. I'd also like to try eating more, smaller meals throughout the day instead of one or two bigger ones.

So yeah, that's my story. Here goes nothing!

Good Morning,

Hi everyone my name is Christmas I am a 33 and a mother of 2. I have been overweight all my life and this is the first time I have been serious about losing weight. I work over full time about 60 hours a week. I love this tool it has really helped me so far.

Hello all. I just rejoined after many years away. I am mom to three (one at home) and spend most of my days as an insurance agent. I am currently working on getting my property and casualty insurance license. I already have my life and health license.

My doctor told me my A1C was high and that I needed to watch my carbs. Since he didn't give me any guidelines for that, I thought coming back here would give me the guidance I need.

Hi everyone, I just joined. My name is Heidi, I'm married, over 50, and work full time at a desk job. I'm low-carbing it for now as my doctor suggested this. I'm looking for friends, support, and accountability. I have a question... how do I get the weight loss ticker at the bottom of my post? -- Never mind, I figured it out.

Hi Y'all. I am Teri. I am in the Air Force, stationed in Northern Italy. I recently turned 30 (halfway to 60 as my husband likes to remind me). I'm not really trying to lose any weight, but if it happens in the process that is fine.

I am just trying to get a grip on what I am eating and am hoping that in doing so I will be able to help my husband lose some of the weight he has gained since having major knee surgery.

Joining a fitness club and starting a routine of strength training and aerobic activity are great ways to get started on a healthy lifestyle! Remember not to overdo when you start out! Don't want any injuries to side-rail your efforts!

Hi Linda and Donna! I'm Laurie and hope to get to know you both better! I have a LONG way to go but nothing will change unless there's a day 1 right? So today is mine and it's gone quite well although the night time hasn't come yet lol. I have joined a fitness club (like a Y but not) with my daughter and we're both going to make some improvements!
