Hi all,

Quick intro to me and my Keto story. 2 years ago, on the cusp of my 60th birthday, I was 306 (or more) lbs. I say or more because I had stopped weighing myself. I discovered to talking to a spiritual counselor I was seeing that my life long obesity and overeating was a way of me giving the Jersey salute to the world. When I realized this, there was a breakthrough in my psyche and I started a break-up with food. Over the course of many months, I was able to get down to 245 lbs. Then I went on a trip to Italy for my niece's wedding and I decided that I would give myself permission to eat whatever I wanted. Upon my return to the states, I did not get right back on the program as I should have. (I did not understand intermittent fasting at that time and how it could have helped me get back into ketosis quickly. I spent his last year struggling to get back on the Ketogenic path and I had many one night stands with my old lover and friend--food. I found myself at 290 after the holiday this and said-- "that's it-- you know how badly overeating and eating the wrong kinds of food makes you feel, get rid of those old eating patterns and rejoin the world of sanity through healthy Keto eating". So I started on January 2. My starting weight was 290.1 and today I am down to 281.0. I started a 45 day Keto challenge in which I write a daily intention about my eating plan and weight for accountability and encouragement. So thanks for reading this and I am excited to be part of this community. Have fun. No retreat, baby, no surrender.
