I am 41 years old and have been very active my entire life. In 2004 I had a car accident that left me with permanent spinal injury. At the time I was in a wheelchair then progressed to a cane and then to only a limp. Now I have gone backwards and am back to a cane. I have tried everything short of surgery to help my back pain. Now, sometime in the next year, I will undergo surgery to try to prevent becoming partially paralyzed. I am losing weight in hopes that this will also help some of my back pain. The biggest problem I have is finding things I can do to lose weight. My doctor says no impact exercises and supports walking and swimming as well as the PT exercises I learned in the past. My pain is always at least a 5-6 and is controlled with numerous meds. Some days all I want is my life back. In any case, I am happy to be here and glad to meet you all.

No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourself.--Emerson
