I have a ruptured L5 S1 disc. So, that being said, I deal with chronic pain daily and acute pain if I over do things. I had sciatic pain for a short time down the left leg and was able to get some relief from Acupuncture. After the last treatment, I was left with no feeling down the back of my leg where the sciatic pain was. Belive me if I had to choose, I'll keep the numbness. The more proabaly cause of the numbness though, is nerve damage from the rupture and not the acupuncture. So far I have had one round of cortisone shots (mixed with a pain kiiler).
As a result of my lack of activity, I have gained over 30 lbs in the past 2 years. I do admit, that I have to make some changes to the items I eat, but generally, I don't over eat and I do eat rather healthy. I know the extra weight has to be aggrevating my back, but I am having a hard time finding a method of excercising that will not cause me grief the next day.
I guess I need to know that I'm not alone in this and that there are others out there that understand ...
