Welcome!
Take this at your own pace - it's ok to take time to study this, make plans, and prepare before you execute.
You won't starve - you may even find loads of food you will enjoy.

Welcome to the team!

Take what works for you from the team and make it work for you! This is a fairly extreme plan, and I don't think many of us would be here if lesser changes worked for us. ANY plan would recommend more fruits & veggies and no junk food, and lots of people get to a healthy weight by just concentrating the healthier foods and limiting sugars, processed food and refined grains. It's ok to start with baby steps!

Best of luck to you, and ask all the questions you need. We are all rooting for your success!

Definitely! You could start with reading It Starts With Food. There are also some great blogs like Mark's Daily Apple. Some inspirational YouTube videos on the dangers of sugar, grains, & GMOs. And some good documentaries like Hungry for Change or Food Inc. Having a solid foundation of knowledge inspiring you to want to change what you eat makes the process easier.

I don't know if I would have been able to do my first Whole30 if I hadn't already stopped eating processed foods.

Thanks for the welcome and advice! I am going to start small and learn more before I dive in, I think it will be easier to stick to that way.

Every journey begins with the first step, right? :)

emoticon to the team! If you're looking for support and tips to help you change your eating habits, you've come to right place. It's awesome that you have so much support in your real life too!

Don't be afraid to take things slowly. You might want to start my adding Paleo/Primal habits before jumping into the deep end of a Whole30. But if you do decide to just leap, it isn't as hard as you might think it will be. Feeling better is definitely worth making the change. Good luck!

Hi, everyone.

Like many others I am not new to SparkPeople but I never stuck with it before. I am, however, new to Whole 30 and similar eating habits. My dad and step-mother actually have been doing the Whole 30 since last summer and one of my friends started before the holidays.

I will be honest, I have never been fond of fruits and vegetables, love my bread and dairy and am absolutely addicted to Mountain Dew. I have never ate well and am worry that I will starve to death if I try (that is only slightly exaggerated!) but I know that I need to make changes.

I joined the team to get a better perspective before I take the plunge

Wishing you all the best and looking forward to learning more.
