Hi my name is Sandy, i have been doing Leslie Sansone videos for about two years. My favorite one of hers is the Interval Walking. I break it up sometimes and do Jessica Smith's Barefoot Fusion Walk, it is very much fun and she adds a different aspect. Just saying. I also enjoy Leslie's walk with weights. I use You tube.

Hello - I am a long time sparker, but a new fan of Leslie Sansone. Very happy to find this team.
I am 61 and just finished "Fit and Firm in 30". At first I didn't see results, but at the end of 30 days I had lost one inch from my waist and one and half inches from my hips. And I feel so much stronger and energetic! I have purchased five more DVDS and love all the choices. Never feel bored!

Hi there! I'm new to the team. My name is Nicole and I have about 32 pounds to lose. I lost that amount already but gained it back after surgery and a nasty bout of depression. I just love Leslie's DVDs - she's the perfect match for me. Challenging but not ridiculous. I'm 42 but probably have the body of an unfit 62 year old. LOL! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and share this journey together with humor and support.

Never, never, never give up

New to the group. Not new to Spark. I love Leslie's workouts because they're all uplifting and I never feel like an idiot doing them or like I'm going to be punished for going slower if I have to. My plan right now is to get up and do a DVD in the morning before work. Even if it's just one of the quicker workouts. I'll also use them if I can't get outside in the evening for a walk!

Hi, my name is Jean and I am 62 years old and need to lose weight. Have been on here off and on and could really use some friends to help me through this battle. Need to lose at least 52 pounds but my first goal is to get below 200. Anyway, hoping to make some friends. Good luck to everyone on their journey to a healthier, lighter lifestyle.

Hi, I'm Violet and I love my walking dvds. The easiest and most effective exercise I can do. Have mostly been walking outdoors because of the beautiful weather we have been having but when the weather is crappy I love walking away those pounds indoors.

I have been MIA here on Sparks for a couple of years. I retired this last April and through the years I missed here on Sparks I was involved with an exercise/health program through work where I posted everything so i could earn points towards monetary rewards. But since I retired than I really haven't been doing any posting or much cardio, other than working out in garden. Now that's done and I really need to get some pounds off and enter my workouts and calories which will keep me accountable. So I hope this group is still active as I will be working out with Leslie and am going to join her 21 day challenge she has coming up which, you can find on facebook. If this team is still active, is anyone else joining the challenge?

Hi and emoticon Carol! Sorry you had so much pain in your hip for several years. I love Leslie's dvds and have been at it consistently since last October. My favorites are the Ultimate 5 day walk plan, 5 Mega Miles, 2 mile Walk Strong, and the 4 mile Super Challenge. Both the 5 miler workouts have options on them so you can pick your favorite miles. That comes in handy when you only want to do 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 miles. Good luck!

Hi! I've been around Spark People for a lot of years now. I've lost weight; gained back weight; played around and never reached my goal.Yesterday, I decided to give it another shot but also faced the fact that I was my own worst enemy. emoticon

My favorite exercise is walking - in the pool and on dry land. Back in about 2004 a bunch of girls I worked with got together and started a WATP Lunch Bunch. We'd meet in a conference room, pop in a Leslie Sansone DVD, and walk away the pounds - and the stress of the day. At that time I purchased the WATP 1, 2 and 3 mile workouts DVD. At some point it went into the drawer of my TV cabinet and that's where it stayed emoticon . Years later when I met and married my DH and we used to go hiking in the AZ mountains and desert 2-3 times a week. Then it happened: osteoarthritis set into my hips. My right hip got the worst of it and from 2011 until March of this year when I finally got a hip replacement, I was in excruciating pain 24/7.I could barely walk through the grocery store so, exercise was out of the question. I tried to go water walking because that's easier on the joints but was still in pain. One day I dug out the WATP DVD and tired the one mile walk. I did the whole thing but that night my hip hurt so badly I didn't get any sleep at all emoticon .

Today I was planning on going to the pool to exercise but DH has been sick all day and I didn't want to leave him alone emoticon . I then thought I'd take one of the dogs out for a very long walk emoticon but the temps went over 100 degrees emoticon so I canned that idea. That's when I remembered my WATP DVD and I pulled it, and my weights, out and did the one mile workout. I felt great and now I'm looking forward to working myself up to the 2 and then the 3 mile workout. Summer in AZ is HOT and it's great to know I can walk in an air-conditioned house when I can't get out of the pool or the gym for some reason.

I look forward to being part of this team and hope to get and give support! Any recommendations for me as to newer WATP DVD's. As I said, mine is about 11 or 12 years old. I'd also be really interested in hearing success stories from using WATPs!

Blessings,
Carol

No time like the present to start working out and eating healthy. Glad you have a supportive fiance. My hubby is there for me as well. Love WATP dvds and have several of them. Always good to mix them up in my book. Variety is the spice of life!

Hi everyone! I'm Kara, 34 and I live in east Tennessee. I'm a librarian and I run a small rural library. I have been overweight since I was a child, and have been on medicine for high blood pressure for a few years now. I have tried to lose weight so many times, and would do well for a while before I let something get in the way and derail me. I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and the number on the scale shocked me. I am at the highest weight I've ever been. I have problems with my knees, sciatica, and of course the high BP. If I don't start losing the weight now, I am going to be unable to move before I hit 40. I decided it's time for me to take control of my life back and stop letting the food, the stress, the "whatever" it is determine how I'm going to live.

I love Leslie's DVDs, and own lots of them--I like to mix them up so I always have a "new" workout.

I look forward to "meeting" you all! emoticon

hi,
I've just started doing watp workouts in the last 1.5 weeks and my hips are slightly rebelling as a result but hopefully that eases soon. I tried them a few years ago but couldn't do more than half a mile so excited that I've got through a mile walk a few times now :-) looking forward to being here and taking part

Hi, My name is Cheri and I am a big fan of Leslie Sansone. I love her workouts because I can do them throughout the day without leaving the house. I am a mother of 2 little girls 18 months and 4 years and it is hard to get out of the house to take a walk a lot of days and thats where Leslie comes int. I also like how I can wake up 15 minutes early and get a mile in and then do a mile after breakfast, lunch and dinner if I want without even having to leave the house. My 4 year old also likes to do a mile with me. I just love that her videos are so simple that even my 4 year old can do them. emoticon emoticon

Hello Everyone, I am not new to spark people, I did this program back in 2008 and lost 50 pounds. I did it using Leslie Sansone's walking away the pounds dvds and healthy eating. I ran into some really hard times, My Fiancé had some major medical prombles leaving him Handicapped and in a wheel chair, I was then taking care of 2 wheelchair bond adults. My mom and him. Then 6 mouths after my fiance' became handicapped I lost my handicapped Mother who I took care of for ten years, 2 mouths after losing my mom, my daughter in law left leaving me with 2 grandsons to take care of. Needless to say, I put all the weight back on going back to 210. Last year I lost 30 pounds but lately I started to put the weight back on. So here I am again. Age 55 and wanting to go back down to 150. I know I can do it, finding time is my biggest challenage because I work full time, sometimes working 56 or more hours a week. Taking care of my Fiance, and 2 grandsons, By the way, My Fiance is now out of a wheel chair walking with to crutches. I joined this group so I had accountibility to for myself and you all. I want to Thank-you all in advanced for you help and support.

Hi, I'm Lavender(Nickname) and I am a big fan of Leslie Sansone. A lot of days I don't feel like doing anything for exercise but I tell myself just 5 minutes is better than nothing and I start with one of Leslie's workouts and end up doing a lot more because she is so upbeat and encouraging in her videos that I want to keep going . emoticon emoticon

New to this Team... been around sparks, almost since the beginning. I reached all my goals, but then got injured and waaay off track, and now weigh more than ever.
But, here I am... having discovered Leslie and love her. Even when recovering from foot and knee issues I could work with her.
I am 50, married, no kids... and super involved with dog rescue.

My main 'exercise' is my gazelle -- do that EVERY morning. There are some afternoons when I put in a 1 or 2 mile WATP just to gain some added steps --- and to keep me out of the kitchen emoticon

Hello everyone. I am new to this team but not new to SP. I have been using Leslie's DVDs for some time and really like them.

Hi, I'm Maria, aka Ria. Since I live in cold ND, it's usually too cold to walk outside. I love Leslie Sansone's dvd's and have many.

Arlene, I grew up in MD and lived there until 1980. My family still lives in the Baltimore area.

I've been on SP since 11/20/14. I would like to lose 15-20 lbs to reach my goal.

Look forward to walking with you.

Morning - on SP in 2010-11 - lost 40 lbs. Then life happened, hubby had a couple strokes and stress took me away! Gained 30 lbs of it back. emoticon

But I'm back and the Leslie Sansone dvd's are basically what I do for walking now as it's difficult for me to leave the house for too long. Take the dogs for short walks - they also have a big back yard to romp in.

I have three and just ordered Walk away the pounds -- so I'm ready to do this -- again!!

I had to take a break due to physical reasons. I used to do up to 5 miles a day. Now it's all I can do to make one mile. I love that Leslie encourages us where we are at.

Thank you all for the nurturing/care you send out, too.

WATP is my typical workout. My best friend uses them, and sent me one when she realized she had two of the same disc. It's got 1, 2, and 3 miles. I am now doing the 3 mile (usually). It's still challenging, though. This week I will also be getting some weights. WATP has held my interest when nothing else (EVER) could.

Thank you for the welcome!

Love in Christ,
Carla

Hi and emoticon to the team! I would say consistency and tracking calories/keeping a food journal are things to keep in mind. I started tracking calories with the advice of my doctor and it's helped a great deal.

Hello emoticon ,

I am new to the team, but not really to SP-- I have the 5 day walk plan.

Monday's workout will ensue shortly. I am so cold here in NY-- we do not have our heat 'on' yet-- so I am trying to warm up under a blanket and a space heater! AHHH

I work from home, sitting on my butt so my joints are a little cramped at the moment ... or I would be warming up with Leslie and the Walk Team-- but my knees ACHE so heat helps.

I'm almost 37-- 3 kids 14,11 & 3--- recent abdominal surgery- ok'd to exercise though emoticon

What is the #1 suggestion for ramping up the results-- consistency & _______

Short term goal is 20#.

Talk soon!

We have never been called to be more than who we are..... Be yourself

emoticon I'm Ramona. I just turned 60 on September 16th while on vacation in Florida. I recently got a fitbit flex to track my steps and have enjoyed that. Since I'm now home from vacation, it's time to get serious and back in a groove again. I just downloaded Leslie Sansone's Walk This Way beginner two mile walk from her WalkTV on my notebook. So I've added that to my work out goals. Now I'll have access to my walking workout even without internet connection. It was worth the $11.99 I paid for it. Now I have no excuse for not keeping up my workouts while on vacation. I've been on SparkPeople for a while. I've slacked off the last couple of years, now it's time to get serious again.

emoticon and emoticon Naomi! I believe that if you go to the fitness page, type in Walk Away The Pounds in the search bar, there is a walk that is displayed with those same words. I believe they are in ( ) I would click on that, then type in the amount of minutes you did and you should get the number of calories burned for that amount of time walked.

i joined this team and then i left it and think i came back and left again. but, i'm back. that being said, i have a new question. How to count calories burned when doing LS walks? Years ago I had a pedometer which read about 77 calories burned per 15 mile. I no longer have a pedometer. And the SparkTracker here @ SP says that a 15min mile (5 mph)burns 95 calories. I realize that my weight has something to do with it, but then and now I was still around 180#. Thanks ~ Naomi emoticon

Welcome everyone. Baby steps are right but I will add another idea here. I have had 2 knee replacements and now two hip replacements so I know a little about pain, etc. You can actually do a lot of Leslie's walking videos while seated in a chair. Sidesteps would be just one step to the right and then one to the left, but you can do pretty much the entire thing without putting a lot of pressure on the hips and legs themselves.

Darlene,

Okay, young lady! Steady as she goes, and do those baby steps, as they add up to GRAND MOUNTAINS, that you've kicked behind you! Look back for the support of all those baby steps, God enabled you to do, as He's walking through this journey with you!

Blessings!

Darlene,

Please get yourself checked by your doctor first, if you're hurting like that. Walking with Leslie, shouldn't hurt at all! I've never hurt, doing Leslie, other than being sore, from doing something new, but it worked itself out within a couple of days. If she makes you hurt, that's different than exercising and being sore! Please see your doctor first, and take a copy of Leslie along with you and ask him about doing her workouts. Please let me now what you find out!

Blessings!

I have one thing to ask of you. Which one should I do first since my lower back and right hip hurts so much and I love to walk with her. My number one is the one mile but I can do that slow and hurt myself. So is that the right one or should I do another.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband, but rest assured He's in God's everlasting arms now! We all know that it's a good thing and a heck of a lost better than what we have on this earth.

I'm so delighted that you found us here in SparkPeople Land, as there is so much going on inhere, that can help you! You're off to a GRAND start with all of the Leslie DVD's that you have. I don't know how many of her DVD's I have either, but I love every one of them. So Far, I have two favorites and that the Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan and the 5 Mega Miles. Those are my mainstay with Leslie. If I want to go a bit lighter I do Walk Away the Pounds, and of course when I'm trying to step it up a bit I do her HIIT DVD's.

Let's keep each other encouraged, as we walk through our lifestyle change journey, TOGETHER! If there is anything I can do for you, just HOLLER, and I'll do the best that I can to give you a hand up!

Good morning all my name is Darlene and I live in Tacoma,Wa but lost my husband 9 yrs ago.
I use to live in Shelton for about 22 yr until my husband passed away in the front yard. He was 56 when he passed on and I was only 50. He has a heart attack in the front yard when my neighbor came in and told me he was on the ground. The MTs tried to revive him for 20 minutes but he was gone and my daughter started it before they came along. We been married 32 yrs at the time. But live has to go on.
My youngest daughter who was doing the cpr is living with me along with her husband and their youngest daughter. My oldest granddaughter in going into college now and that is my youngest daughter daughter.
Just wanted to introduce myself. Thanks for having me. Take care and I do have Leslie's DVD'S here and I think I have 9 of them I have to count again.

I used to live in Wisconsin, when daddy was in the service. It was too cold there for me, but I loved to go sledding! Yes, I love football, also. I don't have a college team that I'm partial too, so my ultimate team is Pittsburg Steelers, and it's been that way for more than 40 years!

If there is anything I can do for you, just give me a HOLLER and I'll do the best that I can to give you a hand up!

Hi, my name is Jean and I am 60 years old. Married 29 years and have two cats IPod 4 and Snickers 2. I live in Wisconsin and love sports, especially football. Amazing how you never pay attention to it as it comes on and then when you do WHAM. Hoping to make some friends along the way as I try to lose 50 pounds.

Good luck to everyone on the journey.

I thought I would take a moment to re-introduce myself. I'm Gwynn (greeneyes _42) and recently became a co-leader of this terrific team!! I'm so excited emoticon

My husband and I are empty nesters to one son and live on the Oregon coast which we absolutely love!! I've been WATP for a few months now. A fellow SP introduced me to Leslie's dvd's and since it's summer time as well, I enjoy walking and hiking on trails outside.

Have an emoticon day and emoticon
