Hi everyone. My name is Patti and I am 53 years old. I started my journey with Spark about 10 years ago. Since I have been with Spark I have been doing pretty good and I have joined a lot of spark groups which seem to help me with losing the weight that I need to lose. I keep losing and then gaining it back and I know most of the problem is my salt intake. I do nibble here and there but I do not track that, I only track the 3 meals a day but with this challenge I will start to track everything since I seem to eat way below my calorie intake. there are some times where I eat within my calorie range but that is very rarely.

Hi everyone, my name is Lorri, and I am 44, I will be 45 in August. I started my weight loss journey in September of 2012 and have lost a total of 52 pounds, I would love to lose another 14 by June 1st which is when I will walk in my college graduation ceremony to receive my Bachelors of Accounting Degree. I am getting ready to participate in my very first 5K on April 20th, I will be doing a walk/run race as I have bursitis in my hip, but have full medical clearance to participate. I do eat fruit everyday, but I know that I need to increase my veggies, and I would certainly love to have advice on being able to eat more and still lose weight.

Hello Everyone! My name is Marilyn and I am 58 yrs old for another couple of weeks. April 12th is my birthday. I weighed 194.4 on Easter Sunday. When I started SP on 12/30/12 I weighed 198.8 so have lost 4.4 lbs. I weigh myself every Sunday. My weight has been up and down many times during this time. I really need to start eating better. I don't know if I can get 5 veggies daily but I will try to get as many as I can. I only have $100 dollars per month to spend on food. My son buys some food but veggies is at the bottom of his list unless you count chili with beans and spaghetti sauce as a vegetable.

Hi! My name is Anna. I joined this website a long time ago, and lost some weight, but after getting depressed for a little while I stopped eating much. I was down to around 800 calories a day or less, and was feeling really unhealthy. I'm back on as of today, and I'm trying to get back to eating enough calories and fruits and veggies every day. Hi everyone, I'm a 37yr old Belgian girl. In the past 2 years I've lost 26lbs ( I've went down from 172.8 lbs to 146.8 lbs, height is 5"4) mostly with the weight watchers programme. Lately I'm in a rut, the programma isn't helping me anymore so I descided to join sparkpeople.

Allthough ww promotes a healthy live style as well it just wasn't working anymore for me. I need to focus more on portion control and eat the right kind of stuff and most of all cutting out empty calories like alcohol.

I joined sparkpeople last friday and already went down 3 lbs so I guess a new start was necessary for my body. I'm now in the calorierange of 1500 - 1850 and I notice I have a hard time reaching 1500 kcal but since I've been forcing myself to I notice weight loss.

I still want to lose 15lbs but I have time for it, I know that when I focus on a healthy lifestyle the weight will come off as well.

Hello all new to the group mother of 4 and I am here looking for motivation and support. Had Sleeve Gastrectomy March of 2012 and still have about another 15 to 20 pounds more to lose before I hit my goal weight. Have a lot of obstacles going on now so not so motivated on working out but I try to walk at least everyday. I have to working in the hospital. Hope to get some insight on different things I could do to eat because I am totally tired of chicken all the time. Help meeee with some ideas of other things.

Hi I'm Sue. I have tried to lose weight for years, thought this challenge would be a great place to start. I love vegetables..this should help. My downfalls are sweets and carbs, I am trying to keep these out of the house, at least for now. My husband is not too happy, but told him I just have to get over the hump of this life change, then he could have them here again. Good luck to all!

The cafeteria can be challenging - especially if the idea of an unsauced veggie hasn't occurred to the cooks! Salad bars can be challenging as well - lots of them have a ton of calories for the unwary - I've seen some where the only 'real' veggie is the lettuce - everything else in a cream sauce, or jello, or you have to be very careful (e.g., I love garbanzo peas, but you can't eat tons w/o running up the calories!)

My name is Chloe. I have to take a few weeks off from vigorous exercise, but I have also had a few bad days of eating way too much. I know I need more veggies, but I just don't know where to start, especially while eating in a cafeteria. Looking for new ideas, even though I'll probably just be disappointed that I can't implement them while at school. But hopefully it will kick start better health, make me feel better (especially while not working out), and give me a good base and resource for when I am preparing my own foods.

My name is Peggy, and I've been a member of SP since 2009. I've been MIA for almost a year though. I' m a 48 year old grandmother of 5, the youngest being 2 months old (so adorable). I want to get fit and stay healthy so that I'll be here for them when they grow up.

I have noticed that I haven't had as much success on my own since being away, so I came back and this challenge was the first thing I saw. I really hope it helps me reach my nutritional goals. I do okay Monday - Thursday. I take all of my meals to work because I work 10 hour days. I don't know what the difference is, but come Friday - Sunday, I lose all control and eat what is before me whether I'm hungry or not. It's aggravating and ridiculous in my opinion. I just need to learn how to be more consistent with both my nutrition and fitness activities.
