Heh. Yes, last night was ugly. My daughter and I were at Rangers Ballpark watching the Rangers embarrass the Mariners. I do cheer for the Rangers, except when they play the Sox. I was watching the out of town scoreboard and thought they had a shot until that ugly 8th inning. Gah!! And to think it was an ex-Sox pitcher, too!

Hi and welcome! I just found out that my Son became a Sox fan, not b/c of the love I have for it, but because when he was little,I payed him 10 bucks to cheer for the Red Sox! (we live in Ohio, but I was brought up in N. England)---him and I went to the game last night (Cleveland) very ugly-very-very ugly) but tonights a new night!

Greeting to all you most excellent Red Sox fans! I figured there had to be a Red Sox SparkTeam. It just took me a while to look for it.

I'm Jeff. Born and raised in Texas, which makes many people scratch their heads and wonder why I'm a Red Sox fan. Well, back in 1967, when a 9 year-old boy was beginning to love baseball, we didn't have a team in the north central Texas area (we had the Dallas/Fort Worth Spurs, which, if memory serves me, were in the Orioles farm system). That, of course, was the year of the Impossible Dream Team. It was also the last year a Triple Crown was won, by a young man named Carl Yastrzemski, who, that year, became my baseball hero, and has remained that ever since. My dedication, over the years, has waxed and waned, but I'm still a full-fledged Red Sox fan, now more than ever. I've been able to make pilgrimage to Fenway twice, now, once in 2007 for a Texas Rangers series, and once in 2008 for an Evil Empire series. That was one of my life's greatest moments!

I'm glad to be on SparkPeople, and am really looking forward to some super results. I have about 200 pounds to lose, and my goal is to lose it in 2 years. I'll be starting Chapter 7 in the book tomorrow, finishing up my "Fast Break" week today.

GO RED SOX!!

Grace and peace,

Jeff
