Hi everyone my name is Michelle I am 37, I am a mother of 5 married for 18 yrs and have been on beach body since May, I did it back in 2012 as well but Im back to it have done 21 df and 21 df ex (both real time). I'm really not loosing much at all but as of this morning I broke a plateau of 218.6 now as of this morning im at 217.8 (no much of a break thru ) it is the first time i have seen this number in a very long long time probably about 10 yrs ago before having my last child. Anyway Im glad I found this group I have a face book group with my couch but I alway end up coming back to spark people!!

Hi everyone!
So excited to find an active Beachbody group here! My name is Melanie, I'll be 42 next month and I've been a dedicated Turbo Jam user since 2005! I also use Turbo Fire and recently purchased ChaLean Extreme. I've been up and down in weight (probably about 15 lbs.) over the years and I am finding it harder to lose weight as I get older, but Chalene's workouts definitely help! I stray from them from time to time, whether I fall off the fitness wagon completely, or if I try something different, but eventually I always navigate back to her workouts.
I have a goal set for myself to lose 16 lbs by June 14th, which equals about a pound per week. That will put me at my weight when I was in my late 20's! I have not seen that number since then but I know I can do it!

Hi,

I signed up for Beachbody on Demand in June 2019. I didn't log in and do any workouts until last week! But last week I started with the 21 Day Fix. I am on Day 5 today and understanding how simple these workouts are to stick to. They don't feel overwhelming and I'm really enjoying the positive aches and pains in my muscles! They are working!! I've been struggling with my weight forever but my most recent struggle began in May 2017. I had finally lost all my excess weight and made my personal goal in March of 2016 and kept most of it off until it slowly crept back up in 2017. By May I had gained it all back! I remember throwing out my "fat" clothes and saying, this is it, I am never gaining this weight back again. But I slowly watched the scale creep up and up and up and then reach the top. It was so depressing and I let it happen. I watched it go up and didn't do anything about it. After 3 years of going up and down between 10 lbs. I am now determined to lose that weight again! I am going to FL in March and using that as my main goal. I bought 3 new swimsuits to try on and keep me motivated as I go through this journey again.

My immediate goal is to lose 25 lbs, but my ultimate goal is to lose 35 lbs.

I am going to turn 39 in one month. And as they say, as you age it gets harder to lose weight. Do you find this true?

Hello!
I'm Jessica. I'm starting PiYO. Today will be day three. I've dabbled in many Beach body programs. My first program was Turbo Jam. I have since then collected Body Beast, 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Les Mills Pump, Turbo Fire, Core de Force, Rockin Body, 20 Minute Hard Core and most recently PiYo. I have also used Chalene's strength training workout, but the name is evading me. Is it Chalene Extreme?? So, I'm no stranger to Beach Body. I have not used Shakeology simply because I cannot afford it. I have used similar protein and meal replacement powders from Garden of Life which I liked.
I have a huge problem with emotional eating. To be completely honest I have an addiction to food. That is why even though I have my own home gym and all health and fitness resources at my fingertips, I'm still overweight. I'm still trying to change my mindset about food. Progress is coming slowly but surely. Enough about me.
I'd love to know about you!!

Hi Cindy thank you for welcoming me to the team. I love Chalene too. I use to do the Turbo Jam workouts but I wasn't losing weight while doing them. I have been working out with my elliptical and Cize or Country Heat sometimes. I don't lose weight unless I do the elliptical. I will have to check out the other threads. Sorry I haven't responded until now. I was wondering if anyone else is using Cize or Country Heat and if anyone is losing weight by using those exercises. I also have bought colored containers and I have the eating plan for 21 day fix and the logging book and the Fixate 2 cookbook. I find if I follow the 21 day fix plan I don't eat enough calorie wise and the eating plan that comes with the Cize dvds say to add more colored containers if you aren't eating enough calories. Does anyone else find that if they eat the 21 day fix they aren't eating enough calories?

Hi, my name is Bobbie Jo and I will be 53 years old on October 24th. I have the older beachbody programs and one newer one. I have Turbo Jam that I love and Hip Hop Abs, Slim in 6, Power 90, insanity minus one dvd. The newest one I have is Beachbody's Country Heat. The insanity one is too hard for me to do. I use the Country Heat and Turbo Jam sometimes. I think Turbo Fire would be too hard on my knees. I sprung one knee and ankle years ago and I can't do the jumping around that is in some dvds.

I’m Amy from Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m 42 and a mom of 3 daughters. Two of them are severely disabled, so I am so thankful to companies like Beachbody who create quality at home workout programs.

I’ve unfortunately lost and gained weight more times than I can count. I feel like now, though, as a grandmother now, playing yo-yo with my weight and health needs to be behind me.

I have done many Beachbody programs, and I have the t shirts lol. I’ve done PiYo, P90X, P90X3, ChaLEAN Extreme, and TurboFire. Currently I am not in a program, but I am debating the next program... I do other work at home DVDs and am currently loving Cathe Friedrich. Anyway, happy to be here 🤗

Hey,
I'm Stefanie and have just started the TurboFire Prep schedule. Did the Fire 30 last week once just to check if I can keep up. That did not go too well, even with the "new to class" option. I got lost all the time and could not keep up with the choeography - and I used to be a Ballroom Dancer so I do not have two left feet!
That was kinda frustrating but I am not a quitter so I pressed "play" again yesterday and (who would have guessed) was able to keep up 95% of the time. I love the fire drills, even if they make me feel like I am about to die! Jumping, however, is an issue due to my stressed Achilles' tendons - so I modify here and there.
Today is stretch 40 (did that too, last week) and I am really looking forward to it - feels so good!

Hello my name is Crystal. I am a 22 yr old graduate student on my way to receive my Masters in Public Health. My mother has described me as being a moose baby (yes, I know) and I had always been taller and bigger than the rest of the kids. I have played sports my whole life and in highschool i was 5'8" and 185lbs. I was solid muscle due to being a thrower (discus & shotput) and I played volleyball. I lifted weights and did plyometrics almost every day, nut ate whatever I wanted.

After highschool I lost 20lbs due to moving away from home and just generally being too broke to eat like I was before. I have since gained back about 5lbs (due to my curves coming in) and I have filled out nicely in those areas we appreciate, but I still have that little pooch on the bottom of my stomach.

In college I continued to weight lift and do cardio, but never seriously or consistently. After finishing my first yr of grad school I have decided that I want to be serious about my health. I barely worked out this pst yr and constantly was tired and stressed. I am getting older and I know it will be harder to look even better (let alone keep this body) as I get older.

My goal is to compete in a bikini competition and maybe later do some fitness modeling on the side. I know I write a lot, but this is the first time I have ever shared any of this with anyone. I am so excited to start this real journey with you ladies.

Hi Penny!! Welcome to the team!!! That is great you are not focusing on the big number and breaking it into smaller increments. I follow Allee a lot because I get pain in my arches. I have lost 40 pounds so far with TurboFire. I have about 40 more to go. I am giving a vegan diet a try...well not a complete vegan diet. We are going to still eat a little chicken and turkey meat about once per week. I will get back to you on how that goes...starting Monday! Ok, so my name is Penny emoticon I turn 40 this year (in October) and am in my 5th week at Spark People. I tried Spark People about 4 years ago with little success but that was due mainly to the fact that I didn't really join in any teams and didn't track my food, etc. I have taken a different approach this time and jumped in with both feet and started making healthy choices and so far, it's paid off.
I spent the first 4 weeks taking part in one of Spark People's boot camp challenges which helped a lot in making exercise a habit for me. So I have been exercising 4-5 days a week for the past 5 weeks.

I bought Turbo Fire quite a while ago..probably about this time last year and I did it for the first 3 weeks. It kicked my butt! But I liked it...and as with most things, I let things interfere and gave up before getting ever really getting started. I still use some of the workouts in the program as my workouts now, just because I like them. I love Turbo Jam...but I am ready to take it up a notch....I have a lot of weight to lose. My first goal is 50 pounds and I have another 50 after that (and then just a little more emoticon )
I am currently at 253 and would like to get down to 145 (or whatever a healthy weight is for me)
I don't care about losing weight fast...that's why I broke up the weight loss into increments...and I am not obsessed with the scale. I figure losing weight will be the natural result of healthy habits.
BUT....I will need help and encouragement. Turbo Fire will be a big undertaking for me. I do the modified version because I have a trick ankle that likes to give out at odd moments if I jump on it but it doesn't stop me from doing the workouts....so I am ready to go but I will need help.
Any pointers, buddies, direction and guidance is appreciated.
I am actually off to work out now! Check in later.

Hey there TurboFire Team! My name is Amy. I'm 24 years old and SICK of being the "fat girl"! I started Jillian Michaels Body Revolution back in January, but I quickly got bored with the workouts so I'm starting TurboFire now. My plan was to start with week 1 yesterday, but unfortunately I got a pretty bad upper respiratory infection over the weekend, so I'm postponing the TurboFire 90 day challenge until next week, though that doesn't mean I'm not working out! I decided to just stick to the FireStarter class this week and take it slow. Because of the infection I get winded easily right now and keep coughing a lot, so I've been doing 20 minutes of workout, then taking a break to catch my breath and get some water, then finishing the last 20 minutes. I signed up the for the Beach Body challenge and I'm excited to see my results after the 90 days. I'm not expecting the finish this program with perfect abs and a perfect body, I'm starting off the program at 210 lbs., but I'm hoping for some pretty awesome results.
I'm a nurse and I work overnights at my hospital, so it's tough for me to get out during the day when gyms are open and the sun is out to do my workouts, so I'm happy I could find a program I can do at home without having to spend a ton of money.

Is there anyone out there who started this program at the same weight I am at and got significant results? It's a little discouraging seeing people starting the program already at a small size then finishing the 90 days with perfect abs and bodies.

That's emoticon Annie! Also, I meant to say before that your work sounds really interesting and fulfilling. My heart really would like to be able to do something like that, but there isn't really any room in my lifestyle for it right now. If I had my late teens and early 20s to do over again, I would take the opportunity then, when I had a little more freedom and significantly fewer "daily grind" kind of obligations. (That's not to say, however, that I don't think we all have an enduring obligation to do good in the world!)

What do you think of Turbo Fire so far? Do you plan to keep up they way you've been doing it, or are you going to tackle the 12- (or 20) week program eventually? (Either is great, of course!)

I "dabbled" at first, and after a few months, did the 12-week. Late last summer, I did the 20, adding in ChaLEAN Extreme for the first three months. Now I'm doing the 12 again, using CLX instead of the TF strength videos, subbing some of the longer workouts with Turbo Kick rounds (I bought a big pack when I did my teacher training in January) and Hip Hop Hustle (another Chalene format), and adding in PiYo (yet another Chalene!) for more core and flexibility. Of all the times I've done TF, this is my favorite because there's the most variety.

So, as you can see, there isn't any right or wrong way to do Turbo Fire, as long as you're making fitness a priority in your life, and having a blast doing it!

I can definitely understand not wanting to workout when the kids are around. I also like to be home alone when I do my workouts.. otherwise I just want to hang out :)

That is fantastic. I do not really go by the scale either. Measurements are a great way to track your results.

You are going to rock week 2! I started week 2 on Friday. I did it that way so I could have Sundays off from my workouts so I can spend time with my hubby & kids. I hate working out when they are around. They don't make fun of me or anything but it just takes time away from them and NASCAR is back on so I like to watch the races with them.

We should make a new thread for checking in with our TurboFire workouts!!

I lost 2 inches off my body after this TF inferno week! Didn't weigh myself though because our scale is broken and I really am never impressed with scale measurements :)

I will definitely remember to eat something just before workouts. Thanks for the tip!!
Went for a snowshoe hike today and Monday gonna start with week 2 of Month 1 in my 20week TF challenge!!!

I make sure I eat a little something before my workouts especially the 45, 55 & 60 minute ones. I am glad you stopped instead of pushing through it! You can do it and GREAT results are in your future!!!

Thanks for your encouragement!! Today was the 4th day of inferno I couldnt do the full turbo45:( .After 25 minutes i felt a bit dizzy and my coordination just didnt work.. after I stopped and ate something I was totally fine again. I plan to catch up tomorrow though and finish it! And hopefully get some great results to share!!

We can do this!!

First emoticon to the team! I know you can do it. I have set a time to exercise and nothing gets in the way of it. I find it so much better to do my workouts before anything else so I do not use any excuses to get out of it. Figuring out the time of day you are more likely to stick with it is really the key. I have a reminder on my phone and it dings at me when it is 5 minutes til workout time so I can get ready to go for it!

The first time I went through TurboFire I lost 40 pounds and now I am working on the last 40. I am on day 6 of my TurboFire Schedule.

Hello,

I have for almost 2 years now tried to complete the TF challenge. I always end up giving up because work gets in the way / I go on vacation / get sick, and then I ever get back into it. This time I decided that I really want to succeed! I think sharing my goals and being part of a group that can encourage each other will help me do it!!

My goal is to lose 25 lbs. But more importantly, to FINISH the 20 week TF challenge!! I am starting with the Inferno plan and continuing from there.

So far I've done the first 2 days! They are hard... but once you're doing it, so great!!

Hi all! I'm on my last week of Insanity and the next workout I'm planning to tackle is TurboFire! I've never done a Chalene workout but I'm really looking forward to it :) I'm planning on starting on Monday morning (the 25th), since Insanity will be done over the weekend. I'm really excited for a change of programs at this point and hope that TF will help me get to where I want to be weight-wise!

Hey all! This is my second round with TF! I did it a few years ago and went from a size 16 (post-baby) to a size 4 in about 6 months of eating low-carb, running and doing TF. I am now 10 weeks postpartum with my second child and wearing a size 14 and 171 lbs. I'm hoping to get back down to a size 6 and/or about 130 lbs before summer.

I'm starting this week with the 5-day program, and then I'll continue with TF on its recommended schedule along with a low-carb diet of 1200-1500 calories a day.

After this I hope to be in shape enough to do Insanity. I also have the brazillian butt lift to hopefully put my butt cheeks back where they were before I had kids! LOL

Good luck all, stick with it! It really works if you can force yourself to stay with it!

I got fantastic results with CLX and TF together. I didn't do the hybrid, exactly: I did both programs together, and omitted just the TF sculpt and tone videos and sometimes Burn It Off from CLX. Give it a try!

Hello! I haven't been on Sparkpeople for awhile but really wanted some feedback. I LOVE TurboFire but found myself going back to my Firm videos to get more toning. I'm 37 so cardio alone doesn't do it for me anymore. I love Chalene so I just purchased CLX hoping that a hybrid of the two will get me the results I want. I should also say that I haven't done ALL of the TF videos, just the longer ones. Has anyone had good results follwing TF by the schedule only OR doing a TF/CLX hybrid?

Whether you think of it as finding time or making time, the reality is that there is only so much of it every day to do everything you want and need, but it sounds like you are figuring out how to make it work, which is a mental, strategic "workout" all its own.

Good for you for trying something new -- and I'm so glad that new thing is TurboFire! I have 30DS, too, and like it much better as an occasional squeeze-something-in-fast workout than a month-long program. There are enough different videos in TF that you will be able to do it for several weeks without getting tired of it, but the truth is that unless it really does turn out to be what Chalene calls your "soul-mate workout," the boredom will eventually creep in. That's normally when I take a little break from Turbo because I don't want to get completely disgusted with it -- I ultimately love it too much for that, lol!

ANYWAY, welcome to the team, and don't be shy about voicing your questions or concerns with the program. Terrie and I have both gone through it a few times, she's studying to be a personal trainer, and I have a background in group fitness and a health science degree, so we will hopefully be able to help you with anything you need.

Hello everyone,

I'm Kirstin, 37 and live in St. Louis, MO. I just ordered TurboFire tonight so I'm hoping to get in the routine of at least hitting the gym 6 days a week to get used to the schedule while awaiting the package arrival.

I'm not a very experienced exerciser and I'm very sporatic - I'm aiming to change that.

I want to become comfortable with myself again so I'm not sure what weight or size that will be but I'm focusing on just eating well and moving more.

I went through New to Class a couple of times but after that I was good to go. I was fairly familiar with kick boxing because I used to do Tae-Bo! I think you will be fine! I like doing the Inferno plan but that is just me.

I haven't done Inferno either time I've started the program, so I don't know whether it would be useful for you to do. I get the impression that it's a weight loss kick-start, but based on what I see on your SparkPage -- that you are already quite accomplished in this respect, and an experienced exerciser -- it does not really seem like it would do much for you. Also, don't worry about your coordination -- you will get it soon enough!

I am nervous that I won't be cordinated enough but I am going to give it my best, I was going to start right away today, but now I am thinking of taking the rest of the week to watch the first dvds a few times and "practice" some of the moves and starting on Monday!! Hey. Just wanted to introduce myself emoticon
I started using SparkPeople a few weeks ago and I'm still looking for some new friends to support eachother and sometimes kick eachother from the computer to work out. emoticon I'm finishing university and starting "real life" soon and part of it is to start it healthy and fit.
One of my goals is to finish Turbo Fire 20 weeks workout plan. I tried to do this once before but wasn't giving enough attention to nutrition. That resulted in anemia and me fainting in aerobics class (I was doing TurboFire every day and taking aerobics class twice per week). So this time I'm really trying to work on fueling my fire. emoticon I actually haven't started the 90 days program, I planed to start it on 1st October. But I'm still working out - I'm doing cardio workouts (cycling, hiking) and I'm doing TurboFire at least 3 times per week. I hope this time around I'll be able to finish all 20 weeks.

Thanks Rheyn and Terrie for the feedback! After hearing both of you tell me to make up the classes missed, I woke up super early and finished my classes for today. I too changed up my rest day to Sunday (from day 1), so worst case scenario I may miss one day but I will make it up for sure! Wish me luck and I'll probably check back in to say hi on Tuesday. Evelyn~I adjust my schedule every week because I like to have Sundays off to spend time with my family. I do the Sunday workout on Wednesdays. Whenever I go out of town to my parents I do my workouts in advance so I end doubling up during the week so I can just relax at my parents house. My husband and kids have told me I am an over achiever tho :)

When I do programs on my own, I usually don't adhere strictly to the calendar, but do do the workouts in order. So, for instance, if the Monday-Friday schedule said Cardio 1, Cardio 2, Weights 1, Cardio 1, Weights 2, but I took a break Thursday-Sunday, I would do the fourth and fifth workouts on Monday and Tuesday of the following week. The program would take a little longer to complete because of extra days off, but I would still get in all the classes.

The exception was when I did Jillian Michaels Body Revolution, because the workouts were tiered, and each new set of videos was repeated for two weeks. So, if I missed doing one workout once, I just moved on because I would still complete it several other times.

However, there is a group of us doing TF together right now, so I am taking the schedule week by week. If I miss, say, a Tuesday workout, I make sure to have it done by Sunday, along with the rest of what is on the schedule, so I have a fresh start the next week. Doing a program with others really, REALLY helps me stay motivated to keep on top of my workouts because I DREAD the possibility of having to do two looong videos in one day!

I think just do what feels best, but if you miss any HIIT workouts, do try to make them up, because the high intensity, anaerobic component will really challenge you cardiovascularly and improve your endurance in a very short period of time (in terms of both workout length, and how soon you'll notice a difference.)

Hello everyone. My name is Evelyn. I finish week 2 of Turbo fire today. I'm following the regular 12 week program. I quit smoking a month ago and packed on 10 lbs EASY within 2 weeks of kicking the habit. Luckily turbo fire has helped me already melt those pounds off. :) I've been really committed to the program so far and am loving the intensity. YES! I am NOT tired! lol. I am going on a weekend cruise tomorrow and return Monday. I am really worried about how this cruise is going to affect my progress. I will be unable to do the videos on the cruise but plan on hitting the gym on the ship. What do you guys do when you miss a video? Do you make it up? Do you keep going?
