Thanks everybody. I kind of gave up a year, because my buddy ran for County Clerk. We won a hard primary, and an easier general election. Politics is not conducive to staying on a plan.

With 850K people in our county, it was bigger than the race we ran for Congress, which I worked on, as well. In my Congressional district, we won 21 of 23 races, and I worked on the Congressional race, County Clerk, and 2 county commission races, as well as the slate piece for all the county candidates..on election weekend, we walked 52K doors, and called 9K . I helped create the literature, with every candidate, specific to each precinct we canvassed that weekend.. so the piece you got, had the right people for you to vote for ( hopefully ). I also ran 4 candidate databases, which took up a lot of time. 8-10 hours a day, entering new supporters, and updating all the information on all of them.

This year, I have cut way back. I did make the mistake of becoming a club Treasurer, but it's pretty laid back, and plenty of time to eat right and exercise, and the office has purged the fridges.. nothing but water, and no snack food. They can't help but buy fruit, but that doesn't tempt me. They eat it, and think it is healthy, so expect me to as well.

Tomorrow, I am getting a gym membership. My BG was still high from my " last meal ".. 293 mg/dL. I thought it would be lower after 14 hours, but it didn't happen. Hopefully tomorrow it drops to normal. My BP is always a little low at 97/69, with a HR of 64.. medicine. If it keeps dropping, I should be able to drop pills.

I will post tomorrow in the regular section, but posting helps me get through the first few days. I get a little tired for 2-3 days, so taking it easy, and logging everything, trying to pass the time, until it becomes routine again. Have a great night.

LIke Maw said, glad to see you back, whatever the circumstances. I thought of you often when I was out canvassing this year!

George Mason asked: “Shall any man be above Justice? Above all shall that man be above it, who can commit the most extensive injustice? . . . Shall the man who has practiced corruption & by that means procured his appointment in the first instance, be suffered to escape punishment, by repeating his guilt?”

Welcome back to the lighter side of life Rusty! It is so easy to get sidetracked and I understand busy and just one this time and I'll start over tomorrow. Staying focused can be so difficult when life gets in the way. Good luck on your journey back to health. We are all cheering for you.

Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Life gets in the way. You start making excuses, and plan to get back on track tomorrow. a year of tomorrow's later.. your back at 300, the day after your doctor calls you at home ( never good ), and says.. your A1C.. that had crept up to 7.9 from 5.5 ( w/o meds ).. is 11.3.. average 300.

Been high for a year, as I worked on political campaigns last year.. a pretzel here or there, forget a meal, so I go out with the group for lunch. A few pounds a month.

So, I'm back. SP helps me, and VLC is all that works for me. It's very simple, all I need to do is stay on plan.. meat fish, fowl, eggs, butter, and mayo. Water to drink. So I am restarting today. I had to get a BP machine, and a glucometer, for the 1st time in 8 years. I have to get a gym membership, so I can walk every day.

I will be recording BP, BG, and weight daily for my doctor and logging it here at SP as well. All done right before lunch. Since I am just starting today, I have nothing to report yet. I have my menu set, and will be getting groceries today.. I do have eggs and sausage for breakfast already.

I see my doctor in June, so 87 days is a good start. Hoping for 25 lbs. lost, and regular BP, and BG by then. That way, my doctor doesn't call me at home, and tell me I should be on Insulin. Sorry doc, but LC will work just fine.

Wish me success. Have a wonderful day. Best of health to everyone.
