Hi Doreen and welcome to the group! My name is Ali, I'm from WA state,I'm
In Issaquah. I am happily married to by husband of almost 30 years. We have two grown daughters, one 26 the other 22. I am almost 65 and my husband is almost 70.
In October of last year I had Congestive Heart Failure and very well could have died. At that point I weighed 316 pounds. The Dr told me I needed to lose at least 100 pounds or it could happen again and I could die that time. I was very lucky this time. So I lost weight right away and went from a size 26, at 316 to a size 18-20 by December, at 214.

I didn't do it the right way, slow and easy but rather too fast and in an unhealthy manner which I now know is not right for me. I gained back about 40 pounds from December through February.
Hard to get off, oh so easy ( and I thought, so much fun being reunited with my buddy, food) but it was a short lived success as I again, and still had to weight myself daily. So for at least the last two months, I have watched the scale go up and down in the 230 range.

I am also a diabetic, for about the last 7 years and have mental health conditions. So that's it for me. One thing I and others have been doing is checking into this site on Thursdays and admit our weight to ourselves and discuss what was good or bad about our last week, other than the food and weight issues we all share. Actually you can share whatever you like with complete trust. That is one of the most safe and reliable sites I've found.

I also joined SparkPeople, a healthy internet website, with a nutrition tracker, fitness tracker and different groups and other Community subjects based on your interests and needs, for example, there is one, the 8 week challenge for diabetics. Check it out.
Thanks for listening to me babble on, just whatever you want to do there is always another way to the same end and desired result.
Take care good luck, hope you'll like this group, I do

Welcome Doreen. This truly is a great team part of an awesome site with tons of resources to help you along. I am going to assume that you have diabetes and suggest that you read the article " How to use SparkPeople When you have Type two Diabetes ". You can find it by entering the title in the search engine on your Spark Start page. It has lots of good practice and links to get you started. Take this journey one day at a time and don't try to be perfect. Just aim to get a little better every day.
I also have four girls and one boy although they are all grown and gone now.
I wish you every success. Please keep posting to ask questions and let us know how you are doing.
