Whos in ur family? do you have kids if not, are you wanting to have any? Do you have any pets at your home?

Married 14 months. He has two kids that live with their mom and we see once a month or so. We have a 16 year old exchange student with us this year till may from Denmark. No pets. Not doing anything to stop our family from growing, just hasn't happened yet.

What made you decide to want to change your life and when?

i've always wanted a change but for whatever reason, never started TILL i saw my stomach sticking out farther than my HUGE boobs. i knew it was time.

When ur birthday? Aug. 26th

Why are u here at spark? To change my life. i like to log my foods and see my charts. (and earn points)

How do u think Sparkpeople is going to help you succeed?

it already has! this program makes sense with my brain. i'm an analytical person.

recently, my husband and i got the missionary call and we see ourselves in Europe somewhere soon doing the Lord's work.

How are u going to incorperate your workout and other things into your life?

just by being aware of what i'm doing or not doing to my body. being aware of portions and activities.

my husband and workout group at church are very motivational.

What are your goals to keep you motivated throughout ur journey?

being healthy enough to have a baby and keep up with him/her. to be an example to my step girls.

evening munchies are hardest right now. or bored eating. i try to stay busy or engaged so i don't get bored and want to graze.

i want to join a soccer team. hehe. i'm not sure exactly why but i never did sports in school and i think it would be fun.

In my new home, there is my fiance and future father-in-law, my future mother-in-law lives with her fiance close by. We have a dog at the house. Up north, I have a single mom, 1 younger sister, 1 younger brother, 2 younger cousins, 1 aunt, 1 grandma, cats and horses. Yes, i am planning on having kids but not until we are financially stable and married.

What made you decide to want to change your life and when?
1) my mom's positive lifestyle change

I am unemployed and tight budgeted so I watch tv for the majority of my day. I love horror movies and love sitcoms.

Hard to answer honestly but health wise, no more unhealthy eating and negative energy.

How are u going to incorperate your workout and other things into your life?
I will set aside time just to work out and plan my meals carefully as well as getting out much as I can.

Fiance and Mom

What are your goals to keep you motivated throughout ur journey?
Drink more water, meet the calorie burned goals and eat less sugar & fat. As well as don't give up.

Online, I don't want to waste paper.

When do u need the motivation the most?
When I feel like i am at my wit's end and a roadblock

I feel like then I should give up if no one cheers me on. I want it to mean something.

My new life, I see a positive successful woman with a supportive husband embarking on a positive life adventure with a lot of friends and mutual support. Looking forward to being the positive fulfilling go getter type gal that I never was and having my man by my side for the rest of our lives.

I want to be able to be taught life lessons that I should be expecting and how not to fall off the wagon when I hit a bump in the road. And YES I am soo excited to start this journey with fellow Sparkpeople.

When do u exercise now?
cardio is 7x a week for 3 hours (when strength is not that day) or 1 hour (when i have strength day)
3x a week is strength with the fiance (30 minutes)

Why do u think spark works?
I have saw the stories and realized how much the people share the same goals and struggles as me. Plus it is one of the few safest and realistic programs that goes way beyond losing weight.

How can u “ spread the spark “ and make a difference to help others here on this team?
Everytime I see someone down about motivation and dieting, I will give them hope that we are all in the same boat and we all encourage them to do their best.

What are your fave foods? Green light foods are foods your love that might be healthy.
chicken, fish, Lean meat hamburgers, pizza, mexican and chinese cuisine. I love pineapples and strawberries, potatoes and carrots for veggies.

I like beading and reading. If anything catches my attention I can get hooked on it easily. I am very easily entertained, friends joke about it all the time too lol..I used to love tennis, and really miss it. I am addicted to facebook and texting.

anywhere quiet

When do u watch tv? your favorite movies and tv shows?
all the time? The bummyness is something I want to change. Favorite shows are House and Glee, and now Raising Hope is really cute. Favorite movies.. there are a bunch, but off the top of my head are Avatar, Chronicles of Riddick, and Wall-E.

hmm.. I can't really answer this one.. as for health friendly, its just a matter of getting into healthier habits.

Right now there's nothing going on in my life, so I just need to get my booty off the couch!!

Speaking to my mother on the phone helps. My husband.. he tries but his ways are different than my own and he ends up having the opposite effect, poor guy :(

Online. Paper doesn't work out for me. It gets lost and forgotten and whatnot.

It's too easy to fall back on bad habits in those short moments. I give in too much.

What made you decide to want to change your life and when? I have been unsuccessful in my career, so I decided last week I'd try to be successful in another area of my life; namely, weight loss.

My passions are children and literacy. That's why I'm a youth librarian. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at a desk most of the time, so I'm hoping that diet will help me with weight loss.

When do u exercise now? The most I currently do is use the stairs at work instead of the elevator.

I started SP at 138 lbs in October 2010. My goal weight was supposed to be 125, which I reached on January 17, 2011. I went up some for a few years, but I started on a plant-based diet in 2020 and am now below my goal weight. I plan to stay on this diet for health reasons.

What made you decide to want to change your life and when? I started Herbalife a year and a half ago and in 9 months i lost 52 lbs. My dad was laid off from work off and on and I couldnt afford herbalife or the gym anymore. I also would take my dog walking and they temporarly closed down the place we would go walking so it made it difficult eating heathly and excercizing. Its been about 6 months and I gain 9 lbs back but my dad started back to work this week so I started herbalife again and hopefully will be going back to the gym as well when i get my paycheck. so i can get to my original weight loss goal.

2 furry creatures gracie ( tiger kitty ) and hershey ( chocolate lab ). there on my sparkpage. a husband dan has lost 50 lbs in 4 months on sparkpeople no kids.

What made you decide to want to change your life and when? fell down the staurs if a bus 6 yrs ago so i have been trying to lose weight before spark but 2 yrs ago whule being on weightwatchers though. i love it here and i am so happy to make a difference for me and others. being a leader here is great.

When ur birthday? were gona make a birthday list so we can do a group email to give birthday wishes.

Why are u here at spark? heared good things about spark and then i came here.soark isent just a weight loss site it is weigh more then that

How do u think Sparkpeople is going to help youo succeed? it already has. it has every little things to help u get ti wherever u want to be. every journey is different.

Who do u just relax with? i chill with hershey my gaurd dog is dan isent home.

What are some of your hobbies? do u text or penpal?
i text somewhat and penpal. i love to be creative and to write as well as watch movies etc. i love to be competitive in soirts and games. i love wii as well. there are many things i love to do.

Where do u like to relax? i like to stay home and chill but i love to go out to just to keep my mind going, going out foe a movie is great, pizza night in is great while watching these new shows that are on nowadays.

When do u watch tv? your favorite movies and tv shows? ncis, ncis la, biggest loser, law and order la, l and o svu, all csi, rozzoli and isles, hawaii 5 0, survivor, amzeing race and things.

Why do u do what you do? explain what your passions are and how u can make ur life more health friendly.

i think i want to be the way i was before i got hirt. i have never felt the same way ever after although i didnt break anything. thats where i get my determination from and inspiration from as well.

How are u going to incorperate your workout and other things into your life? i already have and i do different things every day so it doesent get boreing and my body doesent get use to it all.


Motivation ~

Who do you have to motivate you other then Sparkpeople or sparkpersons? ,y husband but he is inconsistant. sparpeople deffinantly does help alot in it all.

What are your goals to keep you motivated throughout ur journey?

Where do you think your going to track all of ur food? Online paper or both? i do both just in case i am not on the computer for a few. i do it all and then the wnd of the week i put everything i need on here for it all.

When do u need the motivation the most? when i am in a slump mostly when i am not loseing weight or when there is alot of temptations or stress,

Why do u think u need some more motivation when u need some? being stressed makes me loseing track of it all. someitmes emotional cercumstances gets me distracted so i need some peeps although i have been here for alittle while the journey neverends even when u get to goal u stil need to have control over it all. u need people to remind u at times so u dont get overconfidant on things,

How would u picture your new life to be after u achieve ur goals? What are you looking forword to in ur new life?

lose some more weight. get more in shape. do another 5 k. do a 10k and half marathon.

Where in ur life can we teach you something to help u be successful? are u excited to learn to help u to lose weight and keep it off? i dont know. i think keeping me on task is gonna be a kep for me but my job here is to help all of the other sparkers who are brand new here.

When do u exercise now? i do 45 min a day with hershey. she loves it. then i go to the mall sometimes not buying anything but just walking.

Why do u think spark works? i have seen results in me and other frineds i met on here.

How can u “ spread the spark “ and make a difference to help others here on this team? telling other people about spark and haveing then sign on and say that i refered them to spark getting some spark points. but helping others will show how spark works.

chicken with salad, fruit. stirfry veggies and quinua ( a pasta like rice has alot of protein in it ) skinney cows love them

2 year ago when I lived in Germany, and after gaining 30 lbs due to my underactive thyroid.

12th of September. I don’t like birthdays.

First I was looking for fitness videos. I found SP through YouTube.

Sparkpeople has many tools to offer and a huge support system.

Golf, skiing (during winter), Nordic Walking, watching DVDs (I am a huge fan of British comedies), reading…

No, I don’t watch TV. I haven’t turned it on for more than 4 months, I only use it for my Wii.

Short goals: I am in the recovery process after breaking my malleolus bone last June.

Long goals: losing the left pounds, and run this damn 5k!

I wish I could learn how to stop procrastinating things. I am a born-procrastinator! emoticon

I am a community leader, and leader of two SP Classes.

Edamame, humus, seaweed tartare, apricots, cantaloupe…

Cheese! My goal is to limit my daily intake to 30 grams.

Carbs are essential to our diet, and shouldn’t be baned. I am not sure I have a sweet-tooth, between chocolate and cheese it is hard to make up my mind.

I’m a vegetarian, but I don’t have a special diet.

welcome to all apart of this brand new team here. im gina co leader of this sp class team and community team member. i hope this is going be a fun team to be on and also rewarding helping all of u new or returning sparkers who were here before and are coming back to finish what u started before. i would suggest u to read the team info when u start so u can get an idea of what this team is all about. in the first few weeks ur journey might be overwhelming to u so this is why were here to help u by having informational challenges and other things to teach u all about spark in a fun way. even after the first few weeks this team is going to be an active team so were be here all the way through ur journey here.


were gonna have alittle survey for all of the team to fill out so we all can learn about eachother here. also introduce urself on the introduction topic here as well. i am gonna post the survey questions here as soon as possible.
