Good Morning Everyone! Hope all is having a wonderful Thursday! I started my diet on Monday the first day of my vacation. Sad to say it's Thursday and it's almost over. emoticon
My husband and I had a bad habit of eating out too much during the week that I didn't cook much anymore. I'm a great cook and actually love to cook but with work, school and teaching I'm so busy that it was so much easier to go and get fast food or sit and have dinner at a restaurant. My husband and I have a serious addiction to Pho. Hehe... emoticon
We started the Body-For-LIFE diet Monday and I've been cooking at home for every meal! YAY me. Now if I could only teach my husband to cook so I'm not doing it all would be amazing! I wake up early and make breakfast snacks and lunches for the both of us and I get stuff thawed out for dinner if need be. I try and make sure all veggies and stuff I need is prep-ed prior so I only take about 30 minutes to cook in the evenings before I'm out the door to teach dance classes for 3 hours.
So to sum it up I've managed to make all the meals and not cheated on my new way of life for four days now. This is the longest I've gone doing any sort of life style change or diet! Wish me luck to keep on going! I have about 41lbs to lose in 12 weeks.

Hi! I'm Stephanie! I'm a 29 mother of three who is also a full time grad student. I hate cooking because by the time I get home from classes at 6:30pm I'm exhausted! I am trying to lose weight, but I also want to change my lifestyle (and that of my family's) to one with less processed and fast foods and with more whole foods. I'm excited to have found SparkPeople and this challenge. I am hoping that having contact with other people trying to accomplish similar goals will keep me more motivated!

Hello my name Christina, Im housewife stay home with my 2 dog floppy and kido. after 1 year married i'm gain weight 9 pound.Im so happy to joint in sparkpeople, I did almost 1 month traking my food,my drinking water and my fitness.
Wherever i stand in scale i did not see if i lost weight but when i try my old jeans that i can't wear it before now fit again. And i feel good with my body, i feel more energy then before. emoticon

Howdy everyone! My name is Faith and I've been with SPARKPEOPLE about two months and am loving it. Early on during my tour on active duty, I went to culinary school. I love cooking and baking. I really enjoy making healthy meals and snacks but especially love making healthy desserts. Most of the current weight gain I experienced was and is from my illness and the related medicines I take. I have Lupus so I am at times on a ton of medicines - some which cause weight gain. I have really taken charge of my life and am slowly retaining to my former self.

Hi

I'm new to sparkpeople and am just starting to find my way around here. Haven't loaded photos of myself or completed much of the info yet - trying to find moments to get things done but don't want to be in front of the computer for too long.... Hello!
In January I set a resolution to cook more meals. My husband and I hardly ever eat out and enjoy homecooked meals......but they are cooked by my husband. Since January I have been slowly trying out recipes and getting more comfortable in the kitchen. I think this challenge will help me step it up a bit.

Making things hard doesn't make things easy.

Hi! I am Trina. I joined SP in May of 2010, but got serious in December. I have been doing much more cooking at home by finding creative ways to use the limited time I have on some days. I have used many of the SP recipes, but am always looking for new ways to cook healthy meals for my husband and I.

I am not able to do a lot of the exercise videos due to difficulties I have after a total knee replacement, so much of the weight I have lost is due totally to eating better food in better portion sizes. I am looking forward to learning more from each of you!

I am Maggie, turning 60 in just over 2 weeks and planning to go to a reunion in Sept. I NEED to lose the 30 pounds I've gained in the last 2 years (since getting a divorce) and need to learn new recipes, healthy always! It's the exercise that stops me. I have rods in my back from a fracture 12 years ago and some form of inflammatory arthritis in my feet that I found out about 2 yrs ago...which is worse, I'm not sure but it does make movement/exercise difficult. Other than that...I'm peachy-keen! I'm hoping the weight lose will help with the pain from both problems...so here goes!

Hey everyone. My name is Becca. I've been fighting (or at least it feels like it) to lose weight all my life. This time I'm fighting and I WILL win!! I currently weight 249 and am wanting to get to 140-150 pounds. I'm big boned so I don't think I would fit into the typical BMI. I am really struggling on how many calories I am supposed to eat. I am exercising close to 2 hours a day. Burning roughly 600 calories daily. I eat 1500 calories daily and I'm not sure if I'm under or over doing it. I'm getting married next June and I want to be beautiful in my wedding dress. Plus next year I have my 10 year HS Reunion. I look forward to blowing those girls from high school out of the water.

Hi!
I'm a 50-something who is getting back on track after two years of working on and completing my Master's. In the process I went from a generally fit but overweight triathlete to being a woman who is 30 pounds overweight and sore after walking only 2 miles. Quite a downward spiral, huh?

I'm impressed by SparkPeople so far. I love the idea of having a community of people for whom I can root for and who will do the same in return. I can't wait to see all positive changes in my life.

Hi, I'm Fran, I'm 29. I just moved to live on my own, but finding time (or even being organized enough) to cook healthy things is one of my greatest problem. Lots of time I come home to an empty fridge and I'm starving and this isn't good (it's so easy to be tempted by fast food, pizza and similar).
I just thought that this challenge could help me out, so here I am!
Please help me with my cooking problems (i'm also quite terrible at cooking as well, but I hope over time I can improve)!

I've finally joined a challenge. I've been sparking along for a year and a half. The last 7 months I've gained and lost the same 5 pounds so I thought "Maybe a challenge will motivate me more." So let's get motivated....

Hi! I've been with Spark for about a week now and this is my first challenge. I have just started my journey and I know that having a healthy eating plan is crucial to my success. I get home after 6pm and am hungry. I tend to start eating whatever is available (usually not good choices) and then don't feel like making dinner. So I suffer, as well as my family. I'm looking forward to making better choices, having planned meals and using seasonal produce. So far it's been... yum! And I have one happy family!
