I joined in 2008 and lost 40 lbs. Now I have about 10 to lose to get back to my goal weight. I have slacked off on eating healthy and counting calories and I hope this team will help keep me focused and motivated to reach my goal. I am hoping to be there by March 1st! So let the hard work begin!!!

Hello! I am jumping in on this challenge as I near my one year Spark-anniversary. When I started on 1/4/10 I weighed 380lbs and am now down roughly 65lbs. My goal for 2011 is to drop 100lbs and after the holidays I need a jump start. So here I go!

Hello everyone,
I'm Tammala and maybe by joining this team I will be able to get the motivation I need to accomplish the one thing I want to do, lose weight. I need to get healthy for me and my family but mostly for me. I'm shortly going to be hitting the 50 year old mark and feel as if my life is passing me by while I sit and watch everyone else move through life. Needless to say i'm not a happy camper. So today I will sit down and work out a plan of action to participate then tomorrow I will start the morning with a change in routine. If I can quit smoking cold turkey and be smoke free 15 years I know I can do this. emoticon

Hi! I am Amy and I am a 32 year old single mom of a toddler. I tried to do Spark People starting in October, but between halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas, I failed miserably :( So I figure now is the time to start back up and get my self healthy, fit, and active. I am devoted to making lots of lifestyle changes this year, and loosing weight and eating right is one of them. I am looking forward to jumpstarting this goal with this 28 day challenge!

I have designated 2011 as "the year of me". I've been putting myself last for so long, it is taking a toll on me. So, my first goal is to fully complete the 28-day challenge. The amount of weight loss is not as important to me as changing my habits during the challenge. Longer term, I have my 20-year high school reunion coming up in late summer, so to earn a weight loss of 50 lbs in the next eight months is my ideal.

Hi! I joined the challenge to overcome the plateau that I've hit for the last two months. I am using the 28 Challenge to kick start the New year. I've lost 50 pounds with Spark People since last year and only have 30 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. This is going to be the best year ever!

Hi, I'm Angie. This is my first post.
I joined the challenge to jump start the year.
I am so ready to make changes in my life.
I am really good at writing down the goals I want to take place and changes I want to make....not so good at seeing them through. I am either so impatient that I give up quickly or I start strong and fizzle. I have tried to lose weight for 5 years only to reset the same goals over and over. Hi everyone. I've been a member since Oct. 2009. I haven't lost much weight but I eat healthier more often and I definitely work out more. I am in much better shape. My goal for 2001 is to get healthier and lose the weight I need to. I joined this team because I thought it would be a good jump start and something I could commit to. It seems reasonable and not overwhelming. I will give support to others and hope to lose 5lbs. this month. I just got on the scale after a great NY party and BD celebration and guess what...yep..my weight is up. Good luck to everyone. We can do this! emoticon emoticon

Hi I'm joining up to try to learn to be healthier for myself and my family. Right now I think I am bigger than I have ever been. I have been so busy with having 2 kids in the last 3 years, buying a house, graduating college, starting a couple new jobs, etc. that I have let myself go and not even taken much notice. I have developed very poor eating habits, poor snacking habits, and poor stress management habits. I am ready to stop that. I truly want trying to find a balance in my life for myself, my husband, my kids, our family health, my job, and money. I hope this gets me off to the right start!

In January, 2010 Sparkpeople was my guide to losing 40 pounds, nearly 25% of my "starting" weight. I'm looking forward to this challenge to provide some variety and continue the uniqueness of this program. I also need to get serious about toning up now, and this may provide what I need. Also, my husband is pre-diabetic and will begin introducing exercise to his daily routine and this may be the motivation that I can help him with.

Happy New Year!!! I am hoping that my Silver Jeans that I bought several months ago will be fitting or loose by the end of January. That would be about 10 pounds less than right now. I have gained about 15 in the last three months! I've been on Spark about three weeks, and today is THE day to get serious!

Hi All,
I've been a member of SP for about a year, but wasn't diligent about checking in my food eaten or exercises performed. 3 years ago I weighed in at 216 lbs after the birth of my daughter. When I couldn't fit into a size 18 any longer, I decided to start working out and tracking my progress in a journal. Since then, I have lost 40 lbs just through exercise, but need to lose another 30-40 to be at my ideal weight. I've decided to try Bootcamp and also eating healthier to reach my goal! Can anyone tell me how to add the current weight banner to a reply?

Hello All! My name is Terah and I am a senior in college. I haven't ever taken my weight seriously. My mother is overweight and I had the idea in my head that I would be too, no matter how hard I tried. But I am tired of feeling bad about myself and making my future unhealthy. I want to be able to have a healthy life with my soon-to-be husband and eventually my children. I want them to be proud of me. I want to be proud of myself. 2011 marks the beginning of my efforts to change my old ways. I am ready to be healthy and confident!!

In most areas of my life I am self motivated but I find when it comes to my health and fitness (especially eating well) I let myself down. Looking for a way to change that.

I've been on SP since September and have already lost 20 pounds, but am having a hard time staying motivated to excercise on a regular basis so I thought what better way to start the new year than a new challenge!! I am Diana from Texas. I separated from the AF last year and miss it! Also lost my father to cancer, and having reality show me maybe my 4 yr relationship with my boyfriend isn't quite meant to be. Looking for a fresh new start in 2011. Starting with ME! Already started losing weight around thanksgiving but still have a ways to go. Going to be 30 in 2011 and want to erase any regrets and live a full and balanced life. Looking forward to busting challenges and utilizing the spark motivation! Oh and my dog Max (the true love of my life) is coming along on the ride with me!

I'm a 69-year-old grandmother of 11, former hardbody & fitness nut who has let herself go a little more each year for the past few years. I want to lose weight--I'm only 5' tall & every mindless mouthful shows seemingly instantaneously on my body--but more importantly is my desire to feel toned & fit again. I know all the age-related excuses for not reaching my fitness goals, but I want results, not excuses. I want to stand in front of my mirror, pull up my shirt, and smile.

Happy 2011 Everyone,
Starting the 5th of this month will be my 3 month anniversary here. I am starting to feel slack on my food and fitness so I wanted to change things up a bit. I am still going to go to the gym once a day but I am also going to incorporate the Bootcamp videos on here as well.

Last year I improved my eating habits, developed an exercise habit, and drank my water diligently. This year starts with the addition of weight training and this challenge.

Hello everyone I am Syretta, a 55y/o first time grandmother. I've been on SP since 10/10 and haven't lost any weight to speak of despite my new eating and exercise habits. Not only do I want to be around for my grandbaby, I must drop a few pounds before I have my fourth hip surgery. Scars sure do get ugly when a lot of fat is sewn together.
