The last couple months I have been away from SP and gained back four pounds. I haven't been moving and sweating at all! I think this challenge will get me going and back on track.

Hello all! My name is Andrea, and I am super excited to be on this journey to wellness! Nothing is scarier than looking down at the scale one day and seeing the numbers on the scale fly by the 100 then the 200 mark... to the terrifying 278.5 lbs!! I have never been more aware of how unfit I am. My goals to begin with are small, but I think manageable. I want to focus on getting in atleast ten minutes of intentional movement during the day as well as monitoring everything that goes into my mouth. Im ready for this!!

I joined this team to push myself to actually get at least 10 minutes of sweaty exercise. I have a fitbit and I love how it counts calories and tracks steps but I don't think its as accurate when it says you have so many minutes of exercise when you never exercised. So, I want to give my fitness tracker something new to track; while building a consistent exercise streak.

I joined this group when I rejoined SP a few weeks ago, but I didn't take the time to see what this team was all about. emoticon Now that I am a bit more organized I see what a great opportunity this is, so I am starting fresh.
I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

My goals are:
* Lose 70 lbs.
* Get my blood work numbers within healthy ranges without medication where possible
* Be able to participate in physical recreational activities enjoyably
* Avoid type II diabetes
* Lower my stress levels
* Enjoy life!

I've been active on SP for one month and have lost 5 lbs. I have a short-term goal to lose 35 lbs by July 31 (just 30 lbs to go).

Fitness starts with getting good shoes.

I am here to get back on track. I have been on SP for almost 2 yrs. but I am off track and have lots of weight to lose. I need the start small so thought that this challenge would be a great place to start.

Decided I needed some motivation to get active. I don't have a lot of extra time but thought I could do 10 minute a day to start and build up from there. I really like the thought that it doesn't have to be all or nothing, but just do something.

Returning to Spark, I joined in 2006 and have made 3-4 attempts to do the tracking and cooking, work and life always seemed to get in the way.

I'm retired now and have no more excuses. This time is for the future with a healthier body. To motivate beyond my tracker, I chose to join this challenge. I am not expecting quick results just a growing fitness and keeping my calories within goals.

Gone keto since Aug. 1, 2017. Loving the results!!!!

Hi,

My name is Kim, and this is the last week of the challenge, and so far, I have not missed a day of exercising. I'm glad that I joined this team. It has been an excellent starting point for me.

I have joined the 60 day challenge team that starts on the 23rd of March. I'm confident that I can do it.

Good luck to everyone, and I hope you all meet your weight loss goals.

I don't have time to exercise more than 30 minutes at a time, so 10 minutes a day is perfect for me. I'm looking to drop 10 pounds and become stronger along the way.

Don't wait for a feeling of motivation to get going. Get going to feel more motivated!

Hi Team
I am Paula and live in Milton Keynes England. I have mobility issues and a disc that presses on the sciatic nerve that keeps popping in and out. It makes life interesting and I am slowly adjusting to it. I need to find ways to exercise so I can (a) get fitter than I am (b) shed the pounds.
The Physiotherapist says Chair Exercise is a good idea so I will be using a lot of videos to do with Chair Exercise.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Sparkpeople and am excited to try this important step of daily exercise. It is a baby step for some but a big deal for me. I move less than ever now as I telecommute from home at a new job and am tied to my desk and computer for 8 hours straight. But....there is at least 10 minutes a day to stop and exercise!

Hi everyone. I'm Stephanie. I joined this challenge because I started working full time and have not exercised at all. My thyroid is under active and not working out really puts the pounds back on quickly. I'm here to learn how to incorporate exercise into my new routine.

Hi! emoticon My name is Dixie. After a couple of years on Spark and losing weight, I lost focus and left for about 6 months. Unfortunately I re-gained all the weight I had lost plus added about 10 more pounds. My thyroid is now under control. I am dealing with the stress levels and I am on my way to getting my depression under control. I am ready to get back to working on improving my life. I have to start all over with the exercise and need this challenge to get me going. So if you would like to know more about me check out my up-dated spark page. emoticon

Hi, I'm Debbie. If I have already introduced myself, I apologize. I can't remember if I did or not. I have been disabled for the past 17 years with a number of health problems. I had a wake up call when I realized my 84 year old mother was in better shape than me. My weight has crept up over the years as I have had to rely on carry out or frozen dinners when I couldn't cook. I want to get every aspect of my life reviewed and evaluated. I would love to get off some of the medicines I'm on. I just want to live the best life I can.

Hello, it is nice to see so many folks wanting something a little better for their lives. I am 63 years old, I lost 40 pounds on Weight Watchers a year ago, now gaining it back. I did not see the sense in paying over $40 a month when it stopped working for me. I live with my mother, a nephew, and I work full time. I enjoy working out at the gym and showering after. Getting to the gym is the part I resist. I use food to "treat" myself, for whatever mood. I have always wondered where motivation comes from, and it was great to read the source of motivation on this site. This is the only place I have found it. This site still confuses me as to where I go to log this or that, and I guess I will eventually find out all of this.

First introduction was clearly entered the wrong way, started a new topic. Round two, I'm trying the Reply button, it looks like it may have been the better choice. Fingers crossed.

What a great challenge, hoping to put those Tony Horton 10-Minute Trainer videos collecting dust to good use with this challenge. Joined the challenge, as I'm not very good at being accountable to myself (hence videos collecting dust) so hoping this will do the trick. First big goal is to lose 28.5 pounds, by the end of this challenge hoping there will be only 20 more to go :)

Good luck everyone.

Hi! My name is Ali. I joined SparkPeople on Feb 15, 2014; the day after I had a really bad vertigo attack was told I had high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. I've exercised at least 10 minutes everyday since then. I just joined the challenge today and hope it will provide motivation to keep on moving!

I'm not training for a competition. I'm not trying to set a new record. I'm not trying to impress you. I'm saving my life! - Alison, Eastern Time Zone

Hi,

I have been using Sparkpeople for a little over a month. This is my first time posting to a team and honestly, and I don't know what I'm doing but here it goes.

I joined this team because I really want to establish consistent exercise habits.

Instead of rigid rules, I set goals like taking a walk daily. Currently, I take a walk, do Zumba, or use Wii fit exercises. I'm a type 2 diabetic with gastritis and have other health issues. Because of Sparkpeople, I continue to refine my diet.

I appreciate this team and hope that I can contribute any way I can.

Thanks for letting me share.

BTW:
I haven't set up a Sparks page yet. As soon as I figure it out, I will.

Don't try harder-do harder!
