Hi!!! Thank you so much for replying to my post!! Reading your reply was like reading about everything I'm going through! Thank you for reminding me that I'm not alone!

I too hope that you and your husband are able to work the same shift and see one another more often! My husband is out of town a lot for his job and having to take care of everything at home can be so overwhelming! Please know that I'm here anytime you need to vent!

My mother is not living with us either, but I take care of all of her errands and finances. After her stroke, she went to a rehab facility for 4 months and was discharged as able to live on her own. We have a really rocky relationship and there is no way that we could live together, but her mental state is worsening and I'm afraid that I will have to go the nursing home route. She's more than capable of doing things for herself, but is quite co-dependent and refuses to let anyone other than ME help her. I will be keeping you and your situation with your Father in my prayers.

I'm having a tough time finding time to exercise as my little ones are light sleepers as well! Our house is a litlte small and I just know I'll wake everyone getting on that loud clunky treadmill! I've got to find a better time to get on the treadmill at least 3 times a week or find another way to exercise! What ideas have you come up with to incorporate exercise weekly?

Looking forward to chatting with you some more!

Welcome! Being a working mom is TOUGH! :)

I'm a mother to two (3 year old girl and 18 month old boy) and wife to an amazing husband. I work full time 8a-4p Mon-Fri. My husband also works full time, but does 12 hour 3rd shifts. We're lucky enough to work at the same hospital, but sadly do not see each other being opposite shifts. :) Maybe someday! In addition to working full time, my husband is back in school full time as well, so he basically has 2 full time jobs (most going through his program quit their jobs due to the intensity). Basically, I have taken over ALL roles at our home when he is in school. It's intense.

I also feel for you in the care-giver sense. Although my father does not live with us, I am his guardian/conservator as he has some major health conditions. He is in a nursing home about 1.5 hours from me (our home town), which makes visiting and such more difficult (which is required by law). It's hard for sure!

I also struggle with finding time to exercise. I'm not a morning exerciser and I know my kids would wake if they heard noise in the house (super light sleepers). I do best in the evenings (actually, right before bed), but lately I'm just way to tired to think of getting on the treadmill! I need to make myself. I signed up for a marathon this upcoming summer and I've already paid so I'm committed, but I need to get moving or else it's going to be an awful, painful run!!

Regardless, welcome! Maybe we can do this together! :)

Hi!! Thanks for adding me as a friend and commenting on my post! Right now I'm trying to take it day by day. My weaknesses have been drinking sodas and eating snacks at night. I've cut both of those out. At work we are on a schedule where we are interpreting phone calls for 50 minutes and off the phone to give our hands a break for 10 minutes. I have been HORRIBLE about wanting to eat EACH 10 minute break and have stopped that for about 2 months now! :) Right now I'm trying to stick to these three things. My next goal is to try to walk on my treadmill at least three times a week! Finding time to do that in my schedule has been a bit hard. I intend on getting up earlier every morning and it never fails my sweet little 7 month old decides she needs a bottle or diaper change and by the time we get her settled it's time to get everyone in the house up! :)

Hi everyone! I've been on SP for quite a while and have come and gone without truly applying myself. After recently having our third child, 7 months ago, and losing some weight I've been motivated to start! I have three children ages 7, 4, and 7 months and am happily married to my best friend. I am also a caregiver for my mother who had a stroke and is hearing impaired. I work as a sign language interpreter for a Video Relay company and also freelance in my area. I'm looking for sparkbuddies who I can encourage and start this weight loss journey with!
