Hi,my name is Brenda. My daughter sent me the link for this team.so I joined. My family has had heart trouble for many generations, especially on my dad's side. I am the age now that my dad was when he died of a massive coronary heart attack. My brother, who is 13 mos. younger than me had a heart attack a few years ago. so taking care of my heart is very important to me.

I'm Yvonne. 42. I almost didn't do last month's challenge bc I couldn't imagine exercising etc CONSISTENTLY! But I DID IT, I even made it a new habit and earned a consistency award! : )

Now I am eager to start a new challenge. I love themes like the heart for Feb. and it is very fitting bc my dr. wants me to lower my bad cholesterol and triglycerides and raise my good cholesterol. So I am excited and eager to begin!

I printed the 28 Days to a Healthy Heart Calendar and taped it on my refrigerator. I am joining ALL the team goals too.

Having finished the January boot camp challenge, I'm ready for a new one. I'm ready to learn more about how to have a healthy heart and maybe get my blood pressure down. If it takes a challenge to do it then I'm accepting that challenge.

Hi! My name is Louise. I'm 65 and have been a member of SparkPeople since Fall of 2007. I finally got serious last Spring when I had to visit a cardiologist for an abnormality on a routine EKG. I went through several tests and he found minimal plaque build-up. I want to keep it minimal!

Hi, I'm pk, and I joined this challenge because of the poor cardiac history in my family. Plus, I need to keep motivated. I joined SP in 2007, didn't get really involved till 2008 then hit a hurdle in the real world that overwhelmed me in 2009. I just came back to SP earlier this month, joined BLC12 and jumped into the middle of Bootcamp, which is now done. I need the variety that different challenges offer.

Hi my name is Christy. I just completed the Spark Your Body Bootcamp challenge and I wanted to find another challenge to keep the momentum going. One of the team goals is to eat 6 fruits & veggies every day, and that will definitely be a challenge for me.

Hi!
My name is Mariah. I did the January challenge but much of the month was very busy for me so I only did the workouts 3-4 times per week along with my regular strength training and cardio. This month I am going to do whatever the challenge is everyday! Even if I have to stay up 20 minutes later.
I wish everyone the best of luck!

Hi there everyone!

I'm ready to start this challenge. Heart problems run in my family and most of it has to do with weight. I'm ready to stop the cycle and get healthy. This is my 3rd challenge. I'm also currently doing the bootcamp challenge. Glad to be a part of the team!

Hello all...I'm Kelli, and I'm also from Texas! Been on (and off and then on again, then off again, then back on...see the pattern!!) Sparkpeople for about 2 yrs now...would lose some weight, stop and gain it back. SO tryin to find ways to keep me motivated more. Doing the Jan. Boot Camp and thought that this challenge would keep me going. Married and have 4 kids, a dog, a kitten and my boys have a pet rat too! I work full-time as a nurse. Pretty busy around here but I'm making the time to work-out and eat healthy!

New to this (my 1st challenge)challenge and 2 weeks into SP--thrilled with the results so far! Never knew I ate so many calories that I didn't need! Looking forward to another way to motivate myself as I am getting close to a point where the remainder weight is going to be the hard ones to get off. Looking forward to the support.

Hi, I joined the Bootcamp challenge last month (My first time on Sparkpeople) and started out strong and then faded last week, so I'm up for a new challenge and plan to follow-thru til the end this time. I need to get healthier.

Hi there! I'm Jayne, and I have been with SP for a while. I have HBP, which is under control with meds, but I would like to get off meds if at all possible. I also smoke, although not much. I feel it is very important to keep your heart as healthy as possible. I want to live a long life with my DH.

Hi, My name is Carolyn. I just started my third year with SparkPeople on January 7th. I had lost 22 pounds but gained it back so now I'm starting again and have so far lost 9 pounds. I have high blood pressure and sometimes arrhythmia (heart irregularities). I am obese and 60 years old.

I have just this month of January been working on increasing my daily steps. (I wear a pedometer). So far I'm up to 9,000 steps a day but that will soon be 10,000 steps a day.

Hi, my name is Sharon and I've been doing the January Spark Your Body Bootcamp (only missed 1 day) and want to keep motivated.

Like the format of the January challenge and hoping to see more different workout videos and keep with the cardio and nutrition challenges.

Welcome to all....hope we are able to keep each other motivated! emoticon

Hi Darleen

I am also suffering from high blood pressure, but this is hereditary from my dad. I am also on the verge of type 2 diabetes so I have got to lose this weight for my own good. Perhaps we could be good for each other as the months progress.
