Hi, I'm Courtney and I'm 22 years old. I live in MN and have just finished up my Social Work degree! I'm really looking to get to a healthy weight and healthy point in my life. My dad was diagnosed with diabetes when he was my age and I really want to avoid that. I'm also hoping that by becoming healthy, I can have better control over my depression and anxiety and also increase my self-esteem.

Just got my fitbit in the mail, have completed fitbit setup & connection. Fitbit became necessary when I lost my Spark Activity Tracker, which I enjoyed because I could clip it to my shoe. Not so with Fitbit.

Hi, I'm Kelly. Just bought a Charge HR 2. I mostly wear it at night for sleep tracking, and when I'm actively working out for the HR monitor.

Good friday afternoon. I bought my charge 2 a few days ago to motivate myself to become more active. I am in Florida with the heat and humidity of the summer so I will be doing a lot of treadmill walking. I want to lose about 140 pounds and I know it takes a lot of time and steps. I am ready for the challenge. I am also a senior citizen of 66 and a sp member for two years.

Never quit dreaming.

Good Morning everyone. I just purchased a Fitbit Alta as a present to me. I have lost nearly 150 pounds since the beginning of the year so this is my reward.

I have a ways to go but I find that a tracker (previously had a Jawbone UP24) keeps me focused on moving more.

Hi,

I'm Cassie... I just purchased my first Fitbit (Flex 2) as an early Christmas present for myself! I am a single mom to my beautiful baby girl and I work full time. I am seeking a transformation with my weight... I successfully lost nearly 100 pounds in the past and after gaining quite a bit back I am ready to begin that journey again to get healthier and be more confident about my appearance. This is Day 2 with my Fitbit and I love it!

Hi there! I've been on SparkPeople (off and on) for about five years, but am continually struggling. Currently on the uphill side of the struggle, and I'm realizing that I'm not eating poorly, I'm trying to work out, I'm not completely sedentary, and yet I'm weighing in at about 8-10 pounds less than I did at my heaviest weight during my heaviest pregnancy! What the???? I now believe it's menopause, or perimenopause, bringing this on.
Regardless....
I've had my Fitbit since May, and I do like it quite a bit. I love hitting 10,000 steps in a day, though I don't get that far regularly enough.
I'm just trying to get committed again and get motivated again.....

If you can't say something nice, say something surrealistic!

Hi, I also thought I had introduced myself on here a while ago, but got another welcome email. Oh well, I am actively working on my weight again (since 11/1/16) and I have been using the fitbit for over a year now. I LOVE IT!!!! I need to lose about 80# to be at a reasonable weight that is not considered obese or too thin.

Hi, just got my first fitbit this week. Not sure if I like it yet. Seems uncomfortable. Maybe I'll get used to it. I liked the body media one I had, they discontinued it and now call it jawbone. There is no display on them, which I wanted.

Not sure that my steps it says I do are true as it seems like everytime I move the arm it's on the steps go up... he he so we will see

Hi,
I thought I had introduced myself a while ago - but just got a welcome email.
I used to be very active on the message boards, but life has gotten a little busy - I'm lucky if I log in and put my food in. But I will try.
I have had my basic fit-bit that I wear on my waist band daily. In fact I've worn a pedometer daily for the last 8 years. I had been meeting my 10K step goal and had boosted it to 12K. I'm back to trying to get 10K.

Hi, I've had my Fitbit Charge now since April and really like it. It doesn't always give me the information quickly but if I'm patient it will eventually show up. It has help motivate me to get more steps in. I have the Spark tracker also but don't know how much longer it will last and the fitbit was a gift so I use both! I was diagnosed prediabetic back in December and all my doctor said was for me to lose weight. I've lost 60lbs. and feel MUCH better and smaller than I've been in years. My AlC is down where it should be as of May. I go back in December for my physical so I'm hoping it is still down.

Hello. My name is MaryBeth. I'm 53 years old. I've been using a fitbit for a while, but just recently got the HR 2. I'm loving it. I'm trying to get back into exercising again- for my health, and to lose weight. Menopause hasn't been very nice to me. I had some major surgery on September 7th, and looking at another surgery in January. Prior to my first surgery, I was going to the gym 3 mornings a week and even working with a personal trainer. I wanted to be healthy for surgery.

This week, I have lost 2 pounds! Go me! And I've been walking on the treadmill- (3 times anyway)

Go Fitbitters!

Hello everyone.
My name is Dee. I'm retired, and I just got my Fitbit charger 2 a week ago. Hubby and I have tried several times to hook up with Sparks, but to no avail. I just don't understand all that Teck lingo, so it's hard for me to understand about all that. I love the Fitbit, but I only wish I could get it hooked up to Sparks.
I'm working on trying to lose weight, and to improve my health as much as possible, as I have so many health issues. So doing whatever I can to improve anything health wise, is my top priority.
Wishing everyone good health and success.
Sincerely, Dee.

Everthing I do today, WILL effect my tomorrows, and effect those around me.

Hello all, and thanks rockman6797 for the invite. I have had my Fit-Bit Charge 2 for about 3-weeks now and have found that it is just what the doctor ordered. I had about hit the wall with my fitness and weight loss and this new tech gadget has motivated me to keep with it and has inspired me to just plain do more. I have now lost 32 lbs, an have gotten my daughter to take walks with me to help reach my daily step goal. I can not say enough good things about the little device that is wrapped around my wrist. I am glad to join the Fitbit Users Unite team an am here for anyone who needs a little motivation. I would also like to say Happy Birthday to all my fellow Marines out there, and a sharp hand salute to all my military brothers and sisters on this veterans day. OORAH!!! emoticon

I have been considering upgrading from the Spark Activity Tracker for some time (like the size, how it guesses your activity),but I've had battery issues and now the fact that it hasn't synced in over a week (manufacture end problem) finally pushed me to pick up the Fitbit One. Hoping the extra features get me moving more, and I'm already enjoying the silent alarm after only one day.

Hello everyone. Just back on Sparkpeople hoping for my own spark to start weightloss. This over fifty, in menopause stuff is not making life easier when it comes to losing weight. I've got gaining weight quickly absolutely nailed down though. At least I'm good at something! I had a fitbit Charge for about a year and a half and just got a Charge 2 last month. I like the addition of the reminder to move every hour as I get caught at my desk at work all the time.

Hi! I've been using a Jawbone Up 2 until yesterday. I loved it and was used to it but when the strap split in two in less than 8 months, I decided it was time to change. I got the new Fitbit charge 2 and so far I like it. It's going to be a learning process for me. Things show up a little differently on it than the UP. Looking forward to learning everything it can do.

Hi everyone - Just got my FitBit yesterday. I have been a long time Sparker and have been using Spark Tracker up until now. SparkTracker hasn't tracked accurately since 10/31/16. Since they have discontinued them I figure the manufacturer will eventually stop supporting them completely. Looking forward to learning how to use my new FitBit. Any tips are appreciated.

Hello Fitbit Users Unite!

I am reigniting my SPARK and using this gadget to keep me motivated. So far, so go! I am finding more ways to get in extra step like, making an extra trip. Before I go upstairs or downstairs, I generally try to take everything I need with me. Well guess what? It's okay to make a second trip up or down the steps.

I am looking to exploring any tips and success stories of other fitbit users.

Hi Pauline here... I've had a fitbit HR for over 2 years.
I was just using my fitbit to keep me going on steps, watching general heart rate & sleep.

But recently working more on stats for weight loss. I started incorporating my calories in (food)from SparkPeople with my FitBit calories out(activity) to track Calories in vs. out from FitBit downloads XLS and tracking actual weight loss. It's surprisingly accurate - on average over a month.

Once I hit my goal weight I need to work doubly hard on maintaining that weight - that's usually what goofs me up.

My goal is 10,000 steps a day. I'm limiting it to that for now since I have achilles heel tendonitis (since june) - so trying to limit some of my activities to let it heal. I went for PT & am doing proper exercises since September.

Michelle here, not new to fitbit but new to this team. I have been using fitbit for over a year and had great success so far. I walk 5,000 to 12,000 steps per day and rarely take a day off! I park farther away from store entrances, walk in instead of drive thru and walk around the backyard every chance I get. It's crispy weather outside so I stay close to home. I have lost 11 pounds since May 2015 and still have a few more to lose. Add me as a friend if you want to stay in touch and have friendly competitions. Just let me know when and where.
Spark cheers!

Hi All! I am Vanessa and have been a fitbit user for a while now. I just rejoined Spark about a month or so ago and am excited to get back on track. I took a break from working out/eating well after a lot of running last year. I needed a break. I ran the Goofy Challenge at Disney World, then went for the Coast to Coast medal, so ran a half in Disneyland in the same year. I was worn out and ready to just not do anything. I have decided I am ready to get back at it, and am currently training for the Dopey Challenge at Disney in 2018. That's a 5k on Thursday, 10k on Friday, 1/2 marathon on Saturday, and full marathon on Sunday.

I welcome anyone wanting to be Spark or fitbit friends!!! I need all the encouragment I can get!

hello everyone! New to SparkPeople as of a few months ago. Am still finding parts of this I didn't know about or how to use but am completely enjoying it.Didnt even realize there was a team for fitbit till hit SparkMail on points page. Is SparkMail something I should check every day? Earned a fitbit through work while doing Vitality program. HR and sleep part has made me aware of some factors that need attention. Guess that's whats it about in a way. You all have a good day!

Greetings All: I just got my Fitbit Blaze today, 10/25/2016 and I am looking forward to this journey. I am also on a medically monitored weight loss program using meal replacements. This will be interesting for me to say the least. I have been on SP since 2006, well I should say off and on.

Hello, my name is Sharon. I got a Fitbit Charge HR as a Christmas gift from my granddaughter, but I am not sure I ever got it set up correctly because it is on a 24-hour close C know and instead of turning over at midnight to begin the next day, it rolls over at 4 o'clock in the day, so I think it is probably in the wrong time zone or something, but I do not know how to fix it, so I just try to figure out my total steps and calories, eat., but it doesn't sync up with SP and if I go with the numbers it picks up on the Fitbit App, they are never even close, so I just try to keep track myself, but it would be nice if I knew how to fix it. I am 68 years old, so I am not a genius when it comes to new technology even though I worked as a medical transcriptionist for years on a computer. I have 3 grown children, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. I retired this year in January and enjoy the time without having the stress of working daily.

Hello. My name is Gretchen. If you'd like to add me to your Fitbit friends list, here's my link: www.fitbit.com/user/2YZ5T3

My ideal goal would be to hit 80,000-100,000 steps per week. I want to hit 100K steps/week at least once just to see what it'd take for me to do that. I think though aiming more for 80K consistently would be more likely due to work and other responsibilities I have. My day job is sedentary so I'm trying to get in more general movement in addition to my strength workouts and cardio workouts.

Nice to meet you all!
