I can tell you that slow loss of weight is so much better Easier to maintain and the body adjust to this type of lose and accepts it so much better

Hi everyone. I am new to the team. I am once again trying to lose weight and get healthy. (Isn't that the same with all of us) I will be turning the big 5-0 on Valentines day. emoticon This year I have vowed to change my eating habits and start exercising.My big goal is to lose 60lbs. I haven't got the exercising part started but I have lost about 8 pounds since the start of the year. emoticon So once my birthday week is over and have been treated to some free chinese food with my parents, I will do my best to motivate myself into some sort of exercise. I like to walk emoticon but right now it it too cold to walk outside, so I have a DVD called Walk to the Hits. I will try that. So at least I have a plan in place. I am so looking forward to the weather getting warmer again so I can walk outside again. I have back issues so I have to start out small and strengthen my back and my core muscles. But I am looking forward to it.

I like the article. Age is just a number and I just don't remember mine. I am enjoying my life so I don't think about it. I take care of myself. I do cover my gray. I did not want to have gray hair so I have gradually become a redhead. I started using a red rinse when I started getting gray hair.

Personally I like the daily chat, although that doesn't seem to get too much action here. I've noticed with a lot of teams that the threads that get the most action seem to be ones that just require one word posts like "login points" or fruit of the day, games, etc. I guess a lot of people just want to accumulate points by hitting those posts?

This is what interests me as a 50+ woman:

*health issues
*aging well i.e.skin,hair, clothes - the things that make me still look and feel vital
*work - I feel like me and my friends are starting to age out of our work economy/environments yet we are still expected to work another 20 years!
* losing weight and keeping it off! -- oops - should this have been first?? emoticon
*staying social as I get older and more tired!

Of course there are larger social/societal issues we could be addressing - but as far as personal growth/improvement - these are the things that I think are beneficial for me to hear about from other women my age!

Hello, I am co-leader and would like to know if there is anything that we can improve on to keep the momentum going with the team. What if we have a forum for different areas where we can chat and maybe meet up for coffee with each other.
