I'm also in AF! We've been here for 21 years, and I also love the Murdock canal trail as well as biking down to the boat harbor.

Hello from American Fork! This has been a challenging 1.5 years for me. I decided to start over and get back to work! We have the Murdock Canal trail here that is for cycling, pedestrians, and horse riding. I have a goal to get up early and ride a few miles on my bike when I'm in town. So that will be 5 times this week. I made it this morning, so off to a good start!

Hi Everyone!
I just started SP 5 days ago. For the last 7 months I've cut out 32oz of soda, started drinking 8-10 cups of water, walk/run 3 to 6 miles a day (on off days I do fe fit videos. And I've changed my eating habits. I haven't lost a single pound. My clothes fit no differently. It's discouraging but I don't want to quit. I'm hoping the site will give me a visual of where I am going wrong.

I'm Christine. I'm in Layton. When it's cold and dark like in the winter, it's hard for me to do anything. I feel like hibernating. Checking in with SP should help me get through the rest of winter.
I feel like I have a long way to go with the diet/exercise to get my body back in shape and healthy.
Keep well. This winter is a bad flu season. I've missed the Christmas celebrations being sick, so now I'm getting up and getting to it! emoticon

Hi all, my name is Shari and I live in Kaysville. I just got the Spark fitness tracker and I'm excited to start tracking my exercise. One of my main activities is walking the dog about 2 miles each day and I find that because I stop for a few seconds here and there for Edie to go potty it doesn't give me credit for the full time that I've been walking. Bummer!

I'd love to talk to others nearby about the struggles and challenges of getting healthy. I need to lose weight but I don't really want to focus on that. I want to keep my focus on getting healthy and stay positive.

Hello! I want to wish all of us good luck in this healthy weight loss endeavor. My workouts right now include Walk Away the Pounds dvds, walking dirt roads and walking trails, yoga and pilates (yoga one, day pilates the next), and next week plan on adding some weight training exercises using body weight. I have walked 19 miles since Sunday and my goal is to walk every day for a year even if it's only a mile. I hope to reach my goal by Oct, and keep it off by staying active and eating right. I am a grandmother of 4 and want them to take care of their bodies and minds through exercise and diet and hope I end up being a good role model for that!

Walking is good and easier on the joints if you're like me and overweight. I'm not even going to try and run until I've lost at least 50 lbs. The formula for impact is something like mass x acceleration squared. That means the force of impact increases geometrically with weight and exponentially with speed. Think of the difference between your extra weight landing on your joints at higher speed when running instead of walking as opposed to waiting until you've dropped the extra lbs before increasing your speed.

Fitness starts with getting good shoes.

Hi I'm Lisa from Kearns. I joined in July and feel so much stronger and have lost 16 pounds and 2 inches from my waistline, nowhere else though, weird! I do feel better and I'm able to stand up and move around for longer periods of time without my back hurting. I'm going to join Golds Gym soon and would LOVE to workout with someone if I can find someone with a membership there! My long term goal is to lose 140 lbs!! Hi Utah fitness friends. I've been a member for a while, but haven't used this site.

I was motivated and did well with my workout routines while my place of employment had a three month fitness challenge. Since then, I've been off and on again with my workouts.

I find I feel so much better mentally while I'm consistently working out, so I here I am. I think I need to be accountable to keep my motivation up. I have set up my goals and would like to post on our teams challenge forum to see if it helps keep me motivated.

Anyone else want to join me? I hope we can motivate each other.

I'm back looking to get serious again about fixing my body shape! Spark is one of my main motivating factors because it keeps my daily (not just long-term) goals at the forefront of my mind.

I have coasted for almost a year now but I'm back to daily tracking and plan to get involved a bit more with the community for that extra boost. Go team Utah!

Hey,
I first started SP a few years ago and was doing great! I lost some weight and felt so good about it, but now here I am 3 years later, 10 lbs heavier! I need lots of motivation! I spent 3 years in nursing school, so it's no doubt the weight crept up, with stress and studying, my body and mind have had a hard time! Excited to be here!!!
