MOMAGAIN10071, Making better choices and moderation really helps me. I don't deprive myself from stuff I like or else I can end up wanting it more. Instead I just take smaller portions of sweets and just try to limit them. I find that fresh fruits, dried and frozen fruits can hit the sweet spot just as much as sweet desserts a lot of the times. Trail mix, nuts and such can replace my wanting salty potato chips or such most of the time. So I just try to keep some healthy snacks like that on hand. Lots of water too. I don't do a lot of sugar free stuff. I have had allergic reactions to some of the sweeteners and can end up with a bad headache and even hives from it. Plus I heard some can actually make you crave more sweets, and some can supposedly cause cancer. I just try to add more fruits and veggies and water to fill me up.

LISA, IF YOU EAT EVERYTHING IN MODERATION YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT, DRINK A LOT OF SUGAR FREE FLAVORED WATER OR JUST PLAIN WATER, LOTS OF FRUIT AND NOW THEY HAVE LOTS OF SUGAR FREE SWEETS, YOU CAN DO THIS, IT TOOK ME 11 YEARS TO LOSE 67 LBS. I WOULD LOSE THEN GAIN THEN LOSE AGAIN, I HAVE 30 MORE LBS. TO LOSE, I WENT FROM 230 LBS. NOW I WEIGH 162.

I have a food addiction, more specifically, sugar addiction. I am ready to give up. I have for years kept track of weight and sometimes (not often enough) tracked my food on this site, but keep doing that without any success of actually losing weight/improving my health. I am diabetic and in this last year been diagnosed bulimic. My weight has gone up instead of down the last few months. My cholesterol is high. I have never posted here before and thought maybe if I had a few friends I might have better luck. I need to start as if "Day 1" with everything.
