Haven't been able to get much exercise in the last couple of days. Hopefully tomorrow will change that.

Hello Julie and welcome back to SparkPeople. I'm an active walker/runner. As for the knee pain on uneven surfaces, you may want to ensure that your shoes are designed for extra support/stability. This may help; however, I try to avoid uneven surfaces and grass. I also use cushioned running shoes and socks on pavement to reduce the wear and tear on my knees, hip, and back. Best of luck to you.

Good morning everyone. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
I'm not new to Sparks as I've been a member since 2007 and have lost 170lbs since joining. Mostly by walking and using the elliptical every day.
Unfortunately, I had a medication change and regained 70lbs over the last couple of years. Now I'm trying to get that back off again.
What's making it hard is that I'm now menopausal and have some limited mobility. Mostly because of the added weight again.
I've found just yesterday, that I can't walk on uneven surfaces without knee pain. I can do an hour or two on the elliptical without any problems, but walking outside on the sidewalk or especially in the grass or on gravel, I just can't do very far. Don't know what to do about that issue. Especially since we are walking the Renaissance Festival for the next few weekends. And that is walking on gravel and uneven surfaces. Anyone else have this issue? What do you do about it that helps?
