I am just starting back and what has motivated me to come back is and start again is how fast the weight has come back, the aches and pains that have come back, and the way my life has come to a halt!

Hi TIATOYCHR, Welcome to the team. One of the best ways to stay motivated to work out is to find out something you really want to do. The gym isn't for everybody. If you don't like it, you won't go. All workout DVDs is everybody. Do something you love and you're more likely to stick with it.

Psalms 34:7 - Delight your self in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Before you ask God for Anything, remember to first thank him for Everything

It's best to try and overcome struggles slowly. Cutting out everything all at once doesn't work for everyone. So try making small changes each week. As for the sweets, I love them too. I usually keep sugar-free hard candies and popsicles on hand. You can also try making your own desserts using healthy recipes offered on Spark and by members. Good luck! emoticon

What motivates to live a healthier life through eating well and working out is not having symptoms from high blood pressure and not having high blood pressure. Also being able to wear smaller clothes helps a lot too!

Hi Tiatoychr

First let me welcome you to the team and say that I'm glad you joined us. I think it would help if you don't look at this as a diet, but as a lifestyle change. This site will help you learn how to manage the food you eat and how to eat healthy. I think all of us here love sweets, and it's okay. I love chocolate and I allow myself to have it whenever I want it. The key is not deprive yourself of anything that you want, but do it all in moderation. If you want something sweet, leave enough calorie lead way so that you can have it and not exceed your calorie limit.

You can do this and you have your own personal cheering squad on this team. Good luck.

I am not really new to the site, but I am just starting to utilize it. I have a few people at work and my family which motivates me. I also motivate myself by doing the fun things at the gym like the classes. I have met a few people at the gym who will say before i leave " I will see you tomorrow right". How can I say no.

I joined the gym 3 weeks ago and I have been going about 5 to 6 days a week. I do not look at myself in the mirror and it is time to change that. I buy the 100 calorie snacks and when I want something sweet I grab one of those cakes or now they have alot to choose from. It is a struggle at first, but you can do it.

I am new to this site and I live in Kansas City Kansas. I am looking to lose at least 50-60 pounds to be at my ideal weight. I would love to learn how people are overcoming their struggles with junk food. Sweets are my weakness. What motivates you to work out?
