Hi. I'm Penny. I'm 42, and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 26. The doctor at the time did not go farther to determine why I was hypothryoid. Most of the doctors I've had for my thyroid over the years have not been worth while. The best doctor I had retired a few years ago - and I've been searching for a new doctor ever since. I think I've finally found a second worth while doctor. Amusingly, both of the good doctors have been osteopaths.

I have actually, never been officially diagnosed with Hashimoto's. However, my daughter (currently 16) was diagnosed with Hashimoto's at 13. And since in our case we know it's genetic, I'm 99% certain that my hypothyroidism is also Hasimoto's. (We have 4 generations diagnosed of hypothryoidism in a straight maternal line - my maternal grandmother, my mother (her oldest), me (the oldest) and my daughter - my oldest.)

I'm also an herbalist - so have always prefered a natural method of taking care of the body. I am looking forward to learning more about natural methods of taking care of my thyroid issues.

Penny
