I think everyone feels like that the first time they sign up for a marathon, but if you put in the hard work and miles and you want it enough, you will make it happen. That is why they say you run the last few miles with your heart because it will carry you to the end.

Good luck getting back into a running routine and losing the baby weight (congrats!), and we are all here to support you along the way.

Haha, thank you!

One struggle I'm already realizing is that I live in the suburbs now, and when I was running way back when, I was living in a pretty decent-sized city so having a running group that was easily accessible was a huge asset! Now I don't really have that luxury - the only running groups near me are a 30-40 minute drive away! :(

But, I'm going to try not to let that stop me!

Maybe crazy, but most big goals are! You've been a runner before so you know the first and hardest step is getting out the door. Good luck and let us know how you're doing!

Back when I was first on SP, I was an avid runner. Between 2009 and 2011, I ran countless 5Ks, a few 10Ks, a 15K, a half-marathon, a Tough Mudder, a bunch of smaller "mud races", and even did a sprint triathlon.

But, in the years since, I've been getting lazier and lazier. I just had a baby in September and although I initially lost the baby weight, I've since gained a bunch of pounds. I'm looking to start running to aid in my weight-loss, but also want to do the one thing I haven't done yet that I always wanted to do: run a marathon!

I live in the Boston area and my local YMCA has a charity team every year so I hope that I can join them and do the Boston Marathon next year as my first-ever marathon. Eep! I'm in the process of registering for some 5Ks in the summer and 10Ks/half-marathons in the fall and winter so that I can have targets to reach for between now and this time next year.

Am I insane? Probably! But here I am!
