I'm not new to SP, or this group really, but I just came back after a LONG break from Wii and now I'm ready to start maintaining and keeping fit!!!

I'm not new to sparkspeople but this profile is. I just moved on my own and finally got the wii set up. I'm going to start wii challanges on Monday as I seem to have only during the week to work out kids hog the tv during the weekend and in the summer it will switch.
my name is Amanda and I live in Ostego, Mi. I have a husband and four kids. one is our five year old with special needs. the others are teen step kids who are 18 boy,15 girl and 13 boy.
I'm looking for a local work out buddy but would love a online friend or two as well

Hi, I'm Cassie. I am not new to Sparkpeople. My knee problems and anew dog (haven't gotten a routine yet) keep me from going to the gym. I own a Wii fit Plus and several fitness games. I am joining this team because I need to be motivated to move, and I will still have the security of being at home if I need to stop. I am always embarrassed at the gym when pain causes me to stop working out and I haven't been there for an hour or so. If I can build some stamina, I may be able to go back to the gym 2-3 times per week.

oops, I'm new. I'm Gail. Quick question...Where do I find wii sports training exercises..this is where I do the baseball and many other things...i use a lot of calories there..And why on some of the wii things (advanced step) do they not give full credit for calories burned? Like with sports..the ones I do are at pro level...it makes a difference in tennis. And wii cycling? that's not like real cycling but when you do between 8 and 9 miles usually in a half hour.....

A better tomorrow, starts NOW!

To the new wii fit mom...Congratulations, that's wonderful. I had five kids, and lost my weight (and I gained about 80 lbs each pregnancy and was borderline diabetic during the pregnancies) after each one...I wasn't fortunate enough to have wii then. I'm not sure if it will work for you or not, but I started joggin in place after everyone was in bed, starting at two minutes a night and working up to 1 hr. Also, during the day, I put baby on a blanket on the floor. First on their back...then on their stomach ..for 1/2 hour. I proceeded to do everything (watch closely toes, fingers, legs, arms) my baby did. I also worked in lil baby workouts for them. I figured as my baby progressed naturally to build all those muscles to be able to creep, crawl, then walk...their workout regime must not be too stupid. Also, it gently guided me back to getting in shape (plus all the care of new baby and house-do not work to make some little things easier on yourself-how many moms use the excuse the rest of their lives of not losing 'baby fat' -which also puts what guilt on the kid and teaches them to make excuses? not cool. None of my business..just an fyi to consider.

Oh and don't baby yourself, but definitely don't be too hard on yourself..but exercising can help your emotional well-being through this. Expect some changes in your body...after having the kids...the 22 inch waist was gone forever..i settled for 24. and the 34" hips.. oh no! :) went to a 35...and yes, the bust increased an inch or two and stayed that way-but the rib cage remained the same.

Hi I'm new to sparkpeople but am very excited that i joined
I've been using my wiifit on and off for a couple months, but am really determined to use it everyday and lose weight. My goal is to lose 60 pounds, and to feel comfortable in my own body.
I'm a new mom and find it hard to make time to workout.
And I'm currently struggling to stay motivated and determined to stick to my weight loss journey.
I know that if I had more people doing the same journey as me and had more support that I will be able to complete my goal. =)

My favorites are the hula-hoop and the advanced step. I'm not looking forward to that voice on the game when I do the bmi thing tonight though (ugh, it annoys me - not the message it says so much as just it sounds like a little pokemon character) oh wait! there's a mute on my tv, isn't there!? muh-ha-ha-ha!

Just rejoined Spark after a 6 month absence. Haven't done my Wii that entire time either and I miss it! Can't wait to get started on the challenge. I just turned 64 and this is the best form of exercise for me right now. Look forward to moving forward.

Hi, I have been sick for an entire week with an upper respiratory infection and have been on bed rest.. I hope we re do that last challenge at some point. Now I have to figure out how to ease into exercise again. I am just miserable. I miss the challenges gonna try tomorrow..

HEIDISUE1 - If you don't feel like you're working out enough, then you might want to consider which of the Wii Fit (or other Wii games) exercises you are spending most of your time all. I do believe that all movement is good for us; but, that does not make it all really count as exercise. The way I try to approach Wii Fit is to do some of the more cardio-intensive exercises and some of the strength first as more of a workout (like any of the walking or running games, hula hoop, island cycling. Then I will do some of the more game-like ones or balance once for fun.

Hi everyone! I am brand new to Spark, just spent hours clicking around and checking things out and found the Wii Fit Challenge board and am so excited to be here. I will be 50 this summer and REALLY need/want to get my health and life under control. I LOVE my Wii. I have the 'original' Wii Fit Plus and I have My Fitness Coach The MFC was given to me and I tried it once and thought I was going to die... and that was just the assessment part of it, if I remember correctly as it was several years ago. FP I have used numerous times over the years and ALWAYS love it. What are yall doing on the challenge?? Fit, Fit Plus, Fitness Coach or does it matter? I REALLY want to be a part of this. I am only 5'2 and 233 which I am NOT proud of at all. sigh.........

It took me quite a long time to save my $$ up to buy the Wii system so I should make it REALLY work for me

Good Morning from Kentucky
I have been reading this board, and I don't feel so bad now, missing so much on here. Have had bronchitis for a looong time, but I am on the mend (I think, LOL), anyway, I got an elliptical recently, plus I have a fitbit and a wii, so I don't have any excuses. I have been using my elliptical, love, love, love it.

Hi, I'm starting to participate more on the teams, and it's very exciting to find a Wii group. I think that the Wii helped me to begin exercising every day.
Right now I'm doing "My fitness coach" but when I don't feel like exercising, I just turn on the board, and start rhythmic boxing, advanced steps, or any other activity... That helps me to stay on track with my activity level.
I've lost 39 pounds since November 2012, and I have to say that maybe 80 % of my exercise time, was done with the Wii...

I'm a newbie who needs advice: when my husband and I use our Wii, it feels like we're just playing and not a real workout. Usually, we take turns, so one of us sits on the couch and watches while the other plays. Ideas?

Hello everyone my name is Melissa and I am working on losing 60lbs. I just restart my Wii fit work out this month. I am so happy to find a wii fit challenge on here. I cant wait to start documenting my workouts! Question, I noticed that people have a graph showing how much weight they have lost. Hey Everybody,
My name is Jennifer, I am new to the team. I am trying to lose 40 pounds with healthy eating, yoga, walking and Wii. My Wii board is one of the knock off boards which is very frustrating though - it doesn't read my weight right, and when I play some of the games I have to reset it because it won't register me. I will be looking for another one at a Play n Trade soon, then I will be able to participate a bit better and with more accuracy.

Hi my name is Jodi. I am restarting again. I love my wii fit I just got it out again and it made me feel so amazing. Im going to get my weight loss goals done this time

Restarting with this team. My husband and I are trying to develop at least one healthy habit each month this year. For January, we are starting this challenge and not drinking any sodas.
