Welcome to SP! It sounds like you're going on a adventure into the unknown. It's very exciting and fulfilling. Your success will increase if the whole family is on-board. Welcome and you can do it!!!

You're definitely in the right place, and on the right track.

Just remember that sometimes there are challenges. You might hit plateaus and setbacks. Think of them as resting points along the way. Don't stress if the scales don't move for a few weeks, just make sure that when they're ready to move, it's in the right direction.

Good luck on your journey.

In the next few days, I will begin a new chapter in my career. This comes after a sad and emotional closure to the previous chapter, which was filled with achievement and success – professionally speaking, but also filled with stress, emotional imbalance and unhealthy habits. I have spent the past few weeks at home, taking stock of all of my fortune (no, I don't mean money), my mistakes and my expectations. I somehow landed on the SP website and got really excited. I had a few glasses of water, weighed myself (105 kg), bought a bamboo steamer and told my wife and daughters (ages 46, 10 & 7) that I want their collective permission to make some changes in our family behavior. It was when I brought home the Wii Fit Plus that we all really got excited…

I have goals:
I want to feel good again.
I want to have energy.
I want to enjoy not just eating, but tasting too.
I want to cook food, not just heat it up.
I want to run.
I want to sweat away 25 kilos of unnecessary body mass at the rate of 1 kilo per week.
I want to distance myself from the chances of diabetes and heart attack.
I want to enjoy my daughters with them, not at them (think about how that was phrased!).
I want to live long enough to do the same with my grandchildren.
I want to be responsible for my health.

I have methods:
I will consume between 1,510 and 1,860 calories per day.
I will monitor, manage and maintain planned levels of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
I will alternate cardiovascular activity with strength training.
I will take comfort and seek motivation in myself, my family and my friends.
You will become my friends and you will help me too.

I will succeed.

Stress is my only enemy.
