Here's my magic notebook right where I left it. I am rereading 100 days and I have just ordered Life is Hard.
Day1- I used to do that- well today I should have read that page more than once. I sent my son to the donut shop and ate 2 donuts and an iced cappacino. It put me over my limits. So tomorrow I will reread day 1 and add day 2 and make sure I keep both days in mind all day.

Day 24 - Eat for Satisfaction

Today I learned that when I eat I should be trying to gain satisfaction from what I eat. Instead of eating for love or comfort etc, eat to enjoy eating. Realize that it takes so little to be really satisfied and that will help decrease the amount I need to eat. Enjoy every bite until I am satisfied. Eat slowly and with purpose.

I need to work on this one. I tend to wolf down meals and snacks voraciously. Spend more time with my food and recognize when my satisfaction has been met. Leave the rest it is a waste of food to finish it. emoticon

it's also good at buffet and family parties where there is so much food, you just need a taste of your 4or 5 top favorites....works for me.

Today I read about 2 bites. It says that 2 bites are all you need to get all the flavour and taste out of a food. Linda says to revel in that tasting and learn how it feels and tastes in your mouth. If you are eating for a meal, go ahead and eat it all but to taste 2 bites are all you need.

This might be a real help for me with choklit!

Day 12- Today's lesson is to remember to make it a priority to eat on time. I am so bad about forgetting to eat. Sometimes I will not eat from breakfast till supper time. I get busy and think about it but get busy again. I have set alarms on my cell phone for lunch and 2 snacks to remind me from now on. Hope it becomes a habit.

I'm back on track.

Day 11

Today is about eating to refuel or to appreciate flavour. When I choose to eat because I'm bored or emotional, I am not doing either. It is emotional eating. The suggestion is to eat well 3 times daily and to include 3 or 4 daily snacks, thereby never giving my body a chance to run on empty, ever.

This makes sense to me and I am going to try to incorporate this every day.

I had good intentions to read day 2 today. Company showed up and right afterward I went to a shower, or should I say" went on an eating spree!!!" I did a lot of damage today but I recognized it right away and journalled to set myself back on course. I will read day 2 tomorrow.

I got way off track and am just now returning. I am back on day 1. Some of the things I used to do are:

eat cookies at mom's

go on a choklit bar binge

go on a cereal binge.

Now I eat what I need to eat, not what I FEEL like eating. BIG difference.

I had forgotten about this notebook. I am re emerging and now I will continue in my book

Today was day21. Eating with awareness. I am a fast eater. Sometimes I can't even remember what we had for dinner later the same evening. It is what I am going to work on for a few days until I get used to seeing my food, smelling it. Tasting it and eating slowly with small bites. As a binger, I am used to cramming as much in my mouth as possible as quickly as possible. Likely for fear of being discovered. I am a secret eater. While I tried to take my time with dinner tonight. It wasn't foremost in my mind, hence, quick eating. I must admit I liked the look of my meal on my plate. Tonight we had potatoes. I should have savoured each bite, as we very, very rarely eat potatoes. I forgot to taste them and enjoy them. I'll do better next time. So on to tomorrow and taking my time and tasting my food each and every LITTLE spoonful!!! emoticon
