Hello My name is Joy age 52. I had been on SP years ago and found it very helpful. I had achieved my goal weight (230 to 147) it took years to get there and I maintained it for over a year then stress crept in (kids with issues who are back living at home, (4 out of 5 are home now) husband working out of country and Mom starting with dementia who lives 2 hours away) Needless to say so busy taking care of everyone else but me I have put 20 pounds back on. I am using this summer to destress and make time for myself. I have been eating much better and have been walking a lot. My body felt really healthy before and just want to have that feeling back and carry it into the future.

My spirits took a dip today. Feeling like there are people who have lost the vision of why we first joined Sparkpeople and feeling that they've lost their spark and trying to think of how to help reignite it.
And feeling totally helpless and at a loss as to how to help rekindle this team's flame and to keep it burning.

What made over 28,000 people join this team? What drew them?

Listen, I'm now 58 and BAZINGA! Life has become an entirely different journey for me! I'm here to reach for better health and weight loss to carry me through my senior years. I could certainly stand to lose this remaining weight from my 5' 2" frame. I've been carrying it for far too long and it's now taking its toll.
And if I've got the determination and grit to go through with this I and the others are going to give it all we've got to do our best to see that you do too! We're going to go it together side by side and meet each other at the finish line looking hot and most importantly healthier. This journey is a lifestyle change and has its daily challenges to overcome. There's always going to be bumps in the tarmac along the way. Just remember to set daily goals and if there is one that you don't meet? Don't sweat it! It's NOT failure just a non-accomplishment that can be accomplished another day. We do not beat ourselves up over it either. It's one day at a time. And we are here to support each other to keep each other motivated determined and on track. We never quit quitting It's all for one and one for all!

Why Have you come?

Welcome to Meeting The Daily Challenge of Diet And Exercise.

So glad you found us! We are a passionate team committed to helping you with any life changesĖ the tough ones you are facing now and the ones you dream of making.
Because improving our health for the rest of our lives is our goal now. We can make successful physical and emotional changes that will bring us to a higher level of well-being.

All of us are conditioned to live within a limited perception of our own power to transform our lives -- moving through our days with invisible tethers that hold us back from becoming who we really are. But while the elephant submits to its restricted boundaries, we possess the freedom to set the scope of our own dreams. We're free to move out of the dusty circle where we've stood, stuck and discouraged, and into a new terrain that offers a landscape of vast potential.

Why am I here?
Aside from the obvious of needing to lose weight because we are all over weight whether it be a few pounds or greater amounts we all have different reasons for needing to lose weight for the good of our health and longevity; live long and prosper..

Mine the excess weight on my joints was causing degenerative issues, Arthritis onset of Diabetes, & Asthma, flexibility

Hi, I am Janette, I am 58 yrs old. I live in Escondido, Ca. I started MyfitnessPal and then Sparkpeople in 2013. I was around 170 then. I started doing all kinds of exercise, but mostly lots of walking. Then started running and training for a 5 K. I had all kinds of health issues, including Asthma, so I never even considered walking let a lone running a 5 k before then. I was losing weight pretty easy at first and got down to 140. Then had more health issues and and had to stop running and doing a lot of the exercises that I was doing. So I put some of the weight back on. And then started taking some of it back off again. At the same time I went back to work and so I just started doing more trying to just maintain instead of trying to lose and I have been succeeding in that for several yrs now. I am still having more and more health issues pop up, but I am okay. And I am eating a lot healthier than before for starting this journey, and exercising a lot more too. I mostly just do yoga like stretches that I got from several different PT sessions, and a lot of walking.

my name is parker and i live in east central florida.h ave lost all my family except for a nephew and my pride and joy his two children ( ages 4 and 5) they keep me active and happy having issues with sticking with a diet and other goals. great at making lists--starting but soon start floundering and just give in to the immediate gratification. fall has always been my happiest time of the year and the time i seem to get more accomplished so i want to take advantage of this to aid in my motivation.

Hi:

My name is Charlene. I live in Rochester NY. I am 69 years old (well, I'll be 70 in October). I'm married (we'll be celebrating 48 years this September). I have one son who is married (lives here in Rochester - that's why we moved here from NYC when we retired). They have 3 children - 2 girls and a boy (9 & 12 & 3 years old). My husband and I put the older girls on the bus when school starts and then watch our grandson all day long. We share these responsibilities with the other set of grandparents.

Gotta say, I am basically a pretty lazy person. Now, having said that, I am currently working very hard to eat healthy and exercise consistently. I have always followed the Weight Watchers program for eating. I try to walk, strength, stretch regularly. I fall off and on the exercise wagon. I've participated in a few of the weight losses challenge groups here on SPARK and have also followed their challenge for exercise.

I have been trying to lose weight most of my adult life. Of course, I have success and then most of it all comes back.

This group sounds interesting and extremely supportive. I will do my best (can't promise to log in every day or maybe I will and then be absent for a week or more - again - it's my laziness and consistency issues), but I will try to participate.

Hello,
I thought I introduced myself but I've joined so many challenges and got mixed up. emoticon
So here is my story. I first educated myself on nutrition when i had to have my gallbladder removed before I was 40.
I read up on the vegetarian lifestyle, but am educating myself on the McDougall plan and have followed the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension=DASH Diet and the low G.I. diet even though i'm not diabetic. I Don't have hypertension but my Dad had it at a young age and everyone on my Dad's side has it.
So in all of my reading, eating more whole foods, that is greatly reducing the junk food, take out, chips and candy and sugary coffees and drinks (even alcoholic cause it's high in sugar) will make you healthier and as an added benefit will make your clothes fit better.
BUT I know how addictive those foods can be and of course, I have been in slumps.
But all the junk foods and other unhealthy foods lead to cancer, diabetes, stroke, worsen autoimmune diseases, etc.
I think if you think of your health, then you will be healthy fit and trim. It's not about calories. Because you can still cut calories and eat the junk. And be skinny and unhealthy too.
Here's to rising up to the challenge emoticon

Hello team,

I just joined this group as it looks like a good one and I hope to be an active member here. I really need to focus on clean eating . My workouts are ok, most of the time, but you cannot out run a bad diet. I am 53 and my hormones are spiraling out of control and I am binge eating chips weekly, which has caused some weight gain.

I really need to get this destructive behavior ended, so I am trying a new team, with a new attitude.

Lift Heavy and Eat Clean!

I just realized I had joined this team in April and apparently didn't do anything constructive towards it. I am going to work on it this time and meet the challenges daily.

I am at a plateau right now on my weight loss that doesn't seem to get any better so am hoping by following this, I can add to my knowledge and commitment ad really work towards achieving my goals.

Hi, I'm Michelle from \California! I have been doing spark for 7 months and am very happy at my results. I track everything to the best of my ability and log my exercise which has increased by 50% since joining. I am a walker, hiker, gardener and mother and wife with a full time job I just started one week ago. I lost a pound in my first week at this new job so I am happy I am not giving in to the many temptations at work, lots of sugar mainly. It would be so easy to revert back to my old ways of stress eating because it is a stressful job but I have learned so much about nutrition and exercise on here that I can't allow it even though it would be easy to go back to my old ways.
Thank you Sparkpeople!

Hi! I'm Carole. I live in Boston and turned 58 this past August 18th. I originally lost 77 lbs. but put back about 38 since starting my new job about six months ago; so now I'm back on SparkPeople to get back to goal, hopefully by June, 2017. I plan to read "The Obesity Code" by Dr. Jason Fung. I have already tried incorporating some of the principles and I believe this might be a good path for me. I hope to average about 1 pound down per week. Best to everyone!

We CAN do this; so let's GO!

Hello, I'm Aisha. I've been an off and on member of Sparkpeople for several years and know that charting and watching my calories and other nutrients is the best way for me to lose weight, along with exercise. I plan to be more dedicated to myself this time around so the weight doesn't come off and then jump back on. I know what I need to do to lose weight, but for some reason, late at night, those thoughts are put in the background and food that shouldn't even be in my apartment start entering. I am going to force myself to stop eating after supper. That is my biggest downfall. I believe if I do that, the weight I have been steadily gaining over the last 6 months will start to go away.

Hello, I'm Debbie. I've been on an up and down cycle for sometime now. Made it to goal 3 times and each time turned around and found myself back to square one. It's a matter of getting my head in the right place and cementing it there if I'm ever going to make this stick.

I'm currently living in Florida and I'm 57 years old. I am looking to make some major changes in life and this is one that is at the top of my list right now as it is the hardest.

I'm Kathy. I've been with SparkPeople for almost a year now and I feel like I'm finally moving in the right direction. I am working hard to find balance in my life while creating more healthy eating habits but it's challenging to change habits you've had for most of your life! That's my main goal for 2016!

Thank you for the welcome! Iím very happy to have found you. Iím 49 next month and have never been any good at diets. I gained weight after having kids and then it really started in my 40ís. Iíve always been awed of people that could make major changes and lose a lot of weight. I have a whooping 60 lbs to lose now and mentally for me it may as well be 200.

Iím here to start everyday making lifestyle changes. I just saw my doctor and we had a great chat about it. I have hypothyroidism, an autoimmune disease, am currently anemic, terrible heartburn lately, and for the first time my Cholesterol is on the rise. This is not who I want to be and Iím ashamed my lifestyle is showing itís true colors. And Iím a retired nurse. emoticon

No more letting life get in the way. No more jumping in water above my head. My son was recently dx with Crohnís and I am making a lot of dietary changes for him and getting on board myself.

Overall Iím a positive upbeat person that wants to make the most of each day. No more just showing up or letting life derail me. I figure we canít chose the timing of major life stressors but if we have taken care of ourselves weíll be able to face the challenge a whole lot better.

4 weeks until my check-in with the doc and Iím going to make us both proud!

Hello,

My name is Kelly. I just turned 52 a couple weeks ago and I have been an avid Sparker since 2008. I enjoy interacting with members on this website, seeking a common cause to be healthy, live life to the fullest.

I am getting married to my best friend on June 28th this year. God had blessed me with a wonderful man who loved and accepts me for me. I am happily anticipating this new exciting adventure in my life.

I am challenged daily with counting calories and getting my basic exercise in. I am learning balance, creating a new home life and most of all being the best that the good Lord wants me to be.

His Grace is greater than my foolishness!

I can do all things thru Christ who gives me strength.

Hi all!

I am a 63 almost 64 year old retired/disabled Rehabilitation Pediatric Home Health RN. I retired due to a very bad back which retrospectively was the first symptom of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have had to work very hard the last 10 years in rehab to achieve my present level of great functioning. I regularly hike and swim laps. I also practice Tai Chi. I am

presently writing a picture book for children and adults that have Autism. I am very excited about my book. It looks like I may have found an illustrator or I will use the publishing companies' illustrator if I the arrangement with my illustrator does not work out. My book is unique and a lot of fun. I know there is a need for my book in the Autism community. In addition, I think the book would be fun for a wide audience of children and adults alike. I have just talked to a publisher that I think will be able to meet my needs. This is a good time in the publishing world, because self publishing has become very popular. I'm fortunate that it is.

Aside from my book, I teach swimming to children year round. Recently I have accepted an offer to teach swimming at a day camp. I love to teach children. They are so much fun. They are so pure in their emotions. Most children are cheerful and full of hope for the future. They are a blessing in my life.

I also an very involved with my family, lately in particular with my grandson. He has very high functioning Autism. I transport him to and from school and help him with his homework and his swimming. He is on the swim team and has competed in the Junior Olympics. For an eleven year old it is quite an accomplishment. I am very proud of him. He also attends a regular classroom in a Magnet school for "Mathematics, Science and Technology". It is a "college bound" school. In other words, the philosophy and curriculum is geared towards that goal. At this very moment my grandson is on a Spring Vacation school trip to Texas to see the Alamo. The purpose of this trip is to learn American History and experience independence. To this end he will be more prepared to go to college and be an independent student. I am very proud of him. He attends the advanced classes and is has excellent grades. He just handed in a research paper on his vision to become a "Web Designer" and what the field is like, in APA style. What an achievement! He received an "A" for this. He has come a long way from when he was only speaking in three word sentences at the age of four. We were not sure whether he would ever speak normally. When he was in second grade we found it necessary for me to homeschool him in order that he could learn to communicate well and gain a mastery of the English language. We spent many an hour learning grammar, singing, having informal conversations, learning how to communicate in various mediums ie writing, public speaking, conversing, role playing, being the editor of a community newspaper in the homeschooling cooperative, attending many field trips, orally presenting his experiences, explaining and writing about his artwork to other adults and children, learning the keyboard well, doing online classes and many more things and most of all playing and making friends. We had the best experience! I wished it would never end, but homeschooling was a means to an end. He had achieved his goals and it was time to move on to public school. He entered well prepared and has been on the honor roll most of the time.

About my lifestyle and weight loss. My weight loss goals are not very defined yet. I have been a member of SparkPeople for about a year. It has taken me a while to settle in. I am very good at tracking my activity and I have a Spark Activity Tracker. Tracking food seems to be hard for me. I find it difficult to write everything I eat and enter it into the Spark Nutrition Tracker. This is my weak point. I need to work on it. It is my hope this forum will keep me accountable and help me find out why I find it so hard to do. There are a great many members that track their meals without trouble. I want to know why it is so challenging for me. My area of strength is that I am very active every day. I am pleased at my progress. This weekend is another 7 mile hike at the beautiful Everglades National Park. I go their with a group from "Meet-Up". If you have never heard of "Meet-Up" you should. It is an international social activity organization. Some of the members on the upcoming hike I know from other hikes, but generally, I don't know many members. I intend to make new friends and have a great time. There is one woman I really want to meet. She has hiked the Appalachian Trail many times. That is no small feat. She is my age. I think she is amazing. My ex-husband is going on a three month trip to hike the Appalachian Trail this May. He has researched it extensively. He has bought his supplies and equipment. It cost him around $2,000! It's not cheap, this trip.

I also have two rescue dogs that I love. Apollo and Pluto. They are my buddies. You can see Pluto in one of my pictures. He loves to shake my hand and have me pet it. He is so loving. I am blessed to have such sweet dogs. I should post more photos of them.

I also am an avid photographer. I have a camera, but I enjoy taking phone photographs, too. I have several thousand pics. This is another area where I should post my photos on SparkPeople. I tend to be laid back and a little shy about showing off my talents. I should share more with members. It would be good for me.

I am very glad to have found this forum. It really has depth and intensity. I found it through the Writing and Weight loss forum where I am not active, but should be. Lol. This forum looks like a place where I can be introspective and truthful with myself. If I were to coin a phrase for this forum it would be "Accountability". I like the thread because it has an opportunity for me to set goals and be truthful. This looks like a place I could call home. I hope to make good friends here, eventually. I hope to make friends that will know the "real me" with all my faults and good points.

I want to say, thank you to "NoMoreStalling" for motivating me to join this forum.
emoticon

I see the forum hasn't been very active lately. No problem. I will achieve my personal goals and invite others for join this forum. Maybe some of the old timers will come back. We shall see.

I'm off to set my first goal...

Have a great and wonderful day!

I joined today because of a Spark Coach link about balance. I had decided that "balance" was going to be my focus for this year. I felt that I need balance in a number of areas; a balance between work and home, a balance between sitting hobbies and exercise, and just plain physical balance that Coach Nicole was talking about. I saw that working on abs was one of the team goals and that was something I was thinking about doing, too. I'm 66 and I work part time as a reading tutor three days a week, but the paper work (never a strong suit of mine) makes it seem like much more. I do enjoy working with the students and the staff. A year ago, when I was fully retired, I liked to work in my yard and volunteer in a variety of areas that interested me. I joined Spark and lost 20 lbs, then during this last year gained back half. I've lost it again and plan to loose at least another 20. Balance will be the key.

HI, I am Diane. I am 52. I serve as a president of a small university in Kansas. That means I eat out a great deal. I have been in this position for 13 years and I have gained over 25 pounds. I do go to the gym, but I eat when I am stressed. I really want to get fit again. I don't like myself as well when I let myself get this heavy. I want to drop; 30 pounds or so. I am looking forward to your support. I need to be part of a team to accomplish this. thanks

Believing I can change!

Hello, my name is Annie. Iím 54 yrs. old who just enrolled to your team on Sat. 11/16/13.

I moved from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada thirteen years ago. I have a 24 yr. old son, 21 yr. old turtle and I am married to my wonderful husband for 33 yrs. On 3/8/12, my automobile was reared ended by a well-known 31 yr. old, male, drunk driver, who left the scene of the accident. Two good Samaritans saw what happened and they followed him to his house then called the police. He was arrested, put into jail, charged with DWI and felony (serious crime), for leaving the scene of an accident. The accident caused my car to rollover multiple times. I sustained extensive multiple injuries throughout my body, including both legs and partial memory loss. After several operations later, last occurring on 9/12/13 Iím still struggling to walk. On 11/12/13 my physician diagnosed me with depression and anxiety which is all due to the incident.

It took over a year to gain the weight and it is going to take at least that same amount of time or more, to get back to where I was. I will no longer disappoint neither myself nor my family and be ďin limboĒ as far as my health is concerned.

My scars will be my daily motivation, regardless of what occurred I was given a ďSECOND CHANCE IN LIFEĒ.

Hi, I'm Rosemary. I'm 62 years young! Mom to 6 kids and 7 grand babies. I'm from eastern Kentucky, which has the highest rate of obesity in the State. Currently, I'm on my 3rd 5day detox diet of fresh fruits and veggies. When I started this diet I was 204.8 and last weigh in was 195. If I recall correctly. My weigh in day is Saturday's. Last week I was down 10.2. This is not a reflection of weight loss on the tracker. I need motivation to move!

Hi All, I'm joining this group for the accountability, support, encouragement, and to share ideas. I believe that sometimes small changes make big differences and it's nice to have people to share ideas with.

I'm a couple weeks in with my current plans. I have allergies, asthma and am cautious with exercise as I've had a couple injuries that required physical therapy for. So, I started exercising 10 mins. per day, six days per week. I know that isn't much per day but I'm used to being a couch potato after my injuries, so it's a lot for me. lol! I'm currently alternating exercises and days but am now at 15 mins. per day on my regular days and I've started walking 1 mile twice per week.

Eating wise, we had some really bad habits of eating junky fast foods but we are eating at home now and I've eliminated all soda which used to be a really bad habit for me. I tried doing what my doctor suggested (to wean myself a little at a time) but that was just tempting to stretch a little bit more instead of a little less so I quit cold turkey as they say.

While we have made MASSIVE changes in both diet and exercise, I am struggling with portions. I have the old weight watchers points plan (lost weight with that before) but for some reason I obsess with counting points and what to cooks and eat and how many points are left and... Sort of like obsessing about food in a different way so that annoys me with this plan. I have the Richard Simmons (exchange plan) Food Mover and I like the idea of using that as it seems "easier" than tracking all the points for everything, however, it is more difficult to figure the exchanges on one pot meals where multiple foods are included. Still, I'm thinking of trying that out for a week to see how it goes.

My ultimate goal is to go with a more "clean" or Mediterranean way of eating. That's something I am working toward. I'm realizing that it's a process to get to where I want to be and I'm okay with making small changes along the way to end up getting to where I want to be.

Hi, I'm joining this group because I need support in losing weight. I know how to eat right, but I struggle to stick with it. Exercise is not a problem for me...I'm self motivated, but the reason I'm not back down to pre-pregnancy weight is my struggle to stick to eating how I know I should. I'm looking for community to keep accountable in the process.

I'm just going to have to knuckle down and set aside the time every morning.
I am up that early I'm a morning person. Usually I'm using it to get a few household chores done and my animals looked after, getting ready for work and grabbing my fruit and fiber smoothie to take wit me. So it's a matter of prioritization.
Today now I'm active enough with running around doing my weekend cleaning and yard work.
Yesterday I can count because of all the mall walking I did.
Tomorrow I'm cleaning and organizing and setting up my new in home office So again active and burning calories.
It's the work days I'm going to have to organize and add that half hour of exercise.

As to Dr Fuhrman Eat To Live? ABSOLUTELY! Once you've read all the information I found that the best way to make the transition the easiest is to completely set yourself up for success from the get go!
Go through your cupboards fridge and freezer and pitch toss and reorganize.
And id you can afford to bulk shop by all means restock for two weeks at a time.
I buy all my fruits and vegetables get them all cut up sliced and diced and into their containers in the fridge and freezer so that all I have to do is reach in grab what I need measure out my portions for the day and BAZINGA success.
Especially those first six weeks You want absolutely nothing that is going to cause you to stumble or set up road blocks.
You get through those first six weeks and you'll ave nothing but success from there on!

NOMORESTALLING- If only it were so easy!! :) I can't exercise in the morning- getting up at 5 is not appealing. I have an hour at lunch that I try to use- luckily I can get away with a sweaty ponytail the rest of the day. Otherwise I have to wait in town 2 days a week for my daughter's volleyball practices so I workout then too.
If only we were good at controlling all aspects of our lives. Guess that's what makes it so interesting!

Welcome Venicite.
You know as religious as you are with exercise I am religious with diet. How be we make a trade You give me some of that determination and dedication for exercise and I'll trade up Deal?

I use to be as religious about both but then I took a full time desk job with our local newspaper. I'm not completely docile, I'm constantly up and down out of my chair to and from the copier printer answering phones etc. So I'd say I spend 60% siting but it's far more than this body is use to.
I need to get into a routine of doing a half hour of something before going into work for the day would be the ticket.

I am here to reform my diet. I have ordered Dr. Furhman's book and hope to start changing the way I eat. I run and weight train religiously but my diet is horrible. I am committed to making making a change. I am beginning to experience knee pain and I really believe this is due to the inflammatory products related to my poor diet rather than aging. I am going to help myself.

Exactly. It gets to the point where we get too busy focusing on the weightloss rather than focusing on eating healthier and increasing our activity that it becomes overwhelming and soon we get discouraged when we don't see te numbers moving in the right direction on the scale.
I threw out my scales a long time ago.
I mean my doctor told me that if I didn't lose the weight chances were I'd be dead in five years or less.
You can well imagine how overwhelming that would have been.
That's when I came across The 3 Steps to Incredible Health and Weightloss on PBS by a Dr Joel Fuhrman and it turned my life a 360 degree turn around.
I started focusing on that rather than the weight I needed to lose and 6 weeks later I realized I had lost over 20 pounds without even trying, and without deprivation. I was actually eating more tan I ever did on any other lifestyle change I had tried And believe me I had tried numerous different ones; failing every time.
Sure I lost the weight but as soon as I'd start incorporating the things I had to eliminate to lose the weight but had been told I could have them again but with controlled potions the weight only returned and added more. A vicious cycle of yo yo dieting.
Now I eat a 80/20 ratio 80 percent begin fresh fruits and vegetables unlimited and 2 complex carbs portion controlled, The 20% being my diary and meats
If I start feeling a little pudgy or bloated I change it up for 90/10 for a few days and it turns it around.
My main activity was walking. When I was working part time I walked 5-8 miles a day Now that I work fulltime I have a stationary bike I ride at least 30 minutes a day five days a week. Weekends my activity levels equal that and more with both indoor and outdoor maintenance and 8 cats and 3 dogs to keep me hopping LOL
I love my fruit and fibre smoothies for breakfast; unsweetened fruit juice with my three - four servings of fruit; blueberries mango strawberries banana organic hemp protein and psyllium husks

Lunch I make a huge vegetable salad wit te one ounce of mixed nuts and currents
If there is any left it is added to my dinner with a serving of 3-4 ounces of meat; sicken fish shrimp or pork.
I've lost 110 pounds this way and have kept it off thus far.
I still have about 40-50 pounds I want to lose yet too.
Shall we do this together?

Health eating, exercising a 3-6 times a week. I'm truly trying to change my thinking from "diet" which implies something temporary to "lifestyle" which is something permanent. I won't lie - it's a struggle sometimes. Sometimes I get hung up on the numbers on the scales (and lack of movement of those numbers) when I need to remember this isn't just about losing weight. I feel amazing since I've started! I have chronic back and leg pain from a very old work injury and since I started exercising I have not had ANY flare ups! THAT is what I need to focus on.

Hope that's more clear :)

Hi! New to this part of sparks people but not new to the website.
I'm on week 7 of "lifestyle" change and down 21 lbs but stalling for the last 2 weeks. Have about 90 lbs to go for a healthy non- morbidly obese weight.

Staying positive :)

Hi and welcome! This is absolutely doable MRS-B.
The simplest easiest quickest and healthiest way to lose those pounds? It's not by elimination or deprivation. In fact it's the complete opposite!

THE 3 STEPS TO INCREDIBLE HEALTH & WEIGHTLOSS

Dr. Fuhrman offers a healthy, effective and scientifically proven plan for shedding radical amounts of weight quickly and keeping it off. Losing weight under Dr. Fuhrman's plan is not about willpower. It is about knowledge.

Part 3 www.youtube.com/watch?v=pshLDH6oLo4

Part 4 www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN-yqkMMOHM

This is my lifestyle change and believe me it works! I won't even give an other weightloss program a second glance after doing this and believe me I've tried many. Yes, everyone of them gave me results but not like this one and it's steadfastly holding I haven't been yo-yoing!i So check it out!

I have 97 lbs to lose and could use some support along the way. Since reaching my 50's it's been a real challenge to get any weight off. But I know with hard work and determination, I will lose all I need to lose to get back the body I know I have under all this fat.

Winter,

You just described my previous lifestyle!
You can change it! I was finally 50 when it happened for me! You're young yet! I have 12 years on you and look what I've been able to do! And all because of one man!

Hi Dela
I hear ya.
2 years ago I was exactly in the same frame of mind; burring myself in food because I felt like an outcast a misfit because \i was the one that banged off the wall sense of thought and humour and no one understood me. So life had gotten me down emotionally. Only now I had doctors prodding my butt too because they told me that if I didn't I'd be dead in five years! It was do or die Literally! You can see what I chose - DO!
Anybody can! So here's to change and a better future in mind body and spirit!

Motivation everyone struggles with that one. We're all a gog with the newness of things and we do well or that first while and then we lose our steam and motivation and our commitment consistency and control goes right out the window.
Even as far as I've come I still have my days too.
Here is my motivation Give it a watch and listen and keep these links close. So that when you feel youself waning you can return and re-watch and get renewed vim and vigor!

LIZARDREAMER,
One trick I learned a very long time ago and get the food out of the house that is your weaknesses. Pitch'em Toss'em as far as you can throw them! You know which ones they are. So Outta sight Outta mind!
You are the one that controls your actions specifically the hand to mouth action. Make sure they are the right foods.

Debbie,
OH my goodness girl My heart goes out to you for that man of yours. What do you meant his doctor hasn't suspected anything? I'd be changing doctors or at very best seeking a second opinion! He isn't eating ANYTHING just these sips of water? Has he been tested for Anorexia And if he isn't saying anything to doctors then I'd be speaking up!

As for you I want you to give this a look as well

Hi, am nearly 64 and haven't been able to reach a goal in too long. My health is generally good, but am a compulsive eater. It is not emotional. it is not Cravings. I'm a compulsive eater. I can out eat my exercise level. And when I eat, it is not carrot sticks and raw veggies, it is butter and cheese and carbohydrates. Guess the butter and cheese is a craving, but the eating is not. if I want to grow old in some level of comfort, need to get rid of the excess and to do that, have to stop stuffing food in my face. Its easy, but I can't seem to control it. and know I'm not the only one . . . . .and am surprised that there is not a spark people group specifically about this as there is no way I'm the only one

Hi! My name is Debbie. I'm 57 and if I don't take better care of myself, I won't live to see 58. I went to the doctor to get clearance to start my battle but I have been put on a temporary hold until I see a cardiologist. Just precaution I'm sure.

When I am stressed, I overeat ... when my husband is stressed, he doesn't eat at all. My husband is actually killing himself. He got C Diff within 24 hours of having hernia surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago and he is far from recovery. Last Wednesday I went to him to see a gastro and he weighed 117 lbs fully dressed and with a jacket on ... he is 6' tall. In the past week he has not eaten and he only takes sips of water. I'm sure that he is less than 110 lbs. He will not tell a doctor anything about this and the doctors that he goes too doesn't even suspect it either. What is wrong with these doctors???

I am now taking care of myself for me. It took this heart care to get myself in gear. I also know that he won't be around much longer so I need to take care of myself before that happens.

Hello everyone. My name is Terri and I'm a 50 year old grandmother of 9, mother of 4,and I run a daycare. I've been on sparkpeople since May last year. I lost 30 lbs and then I just lost it. I didn't do as bad as I normally do when I get off track I only gained back 8 lbs. But now it's really hard for me to feel motivated and to stay on track. I;ll do great for a couple days then I just lose it. I hope with the challenges on here this will help a lot.

One day at a time.

I'm not trying to lose weight. "I have no intention of finding it again"

Hello my name is Kathryn, I live in Sacramento CA with my Hubby. We are both on Spark and trying to exercise and eat well. I do streaks to keep my self motivated. I have been on one for exercise for over 100 days and going strong. When I first started out exercising I could not do much but now I ride my exercise bike for 30 minutes, do exercise videos and walk over 30 minutes a day every day. Some mornings I wake up and don't want to work out but I think about my streak and get on that bike. I even joined the 28 day Boot camp work out challenge and am finishing up week two.

Kathryn, Sacramento, CA Pacific time, I am doing the best I can that will have to be enough

Hello team, I'm Del, a wife and mom, and I am in need of a change. I've gone through a tough year last year and I've been stuffing my feelings with food. It's time to start taking care of myself again. Thank you for this team. emoticon

Hello! I am 37 about to turn 38 in a couple of weeks. I used to belong to sparkspeople years ago. I was cleaning out some dresser drawers and came across some of my old journals. I noticed that my weightloss journey seems to be a never ending cycle. I gain, I lose, I gain a little, I lose a little, I gain a whole lot! I REALLY want to believe I can break the cycle this time. I just know I can't do it by myself. So, I am back to give it another try. You all on here seem so motivated and inspirational...

Hi I am a 49 soon to be 50 yr old woman, wife , and nurse, that recently fell and got a comminuted fracture on my right elbow , so orders were to not use right arm Which meant I could not work , and with hubby not working , I ended up not doing anything , and gained another 15 lbs, now Im up to 230 lbs and struggling to loose the weight and keep it off. And of course Hubby likes his sweets so there is always some kind of cake, pie ,, cookies or some junk food just lying around in the kitchen ,, begging me to come eat it.

I really need help and hope I can find it here. I really need motivation to stay on track and keep going, And am hoping with time I can be just as inspirational and motivating as the anyone else.
