It's all about the training. Obviously, my signature tells all on my 2019 Tris. I became a Triathlete at 63 and am in my 7th year. You can read my profile for numbers. My last Tri (as of this msg) of the year with be Ironman 70.3 Augusta in SeptI I do them now to maintain my weight, have fun with my Tri Team, and for longevity! This is my last year in the 65-69 age group! emoticon

Please let us know how you are progressing and don't hesitate to ask questions. Most of us here are experienced "mistake makers" so we can relate our experiences with you. I'm getting ready to do my 21st Tri, Escape from Ft De Soto on April 13!

Stay Strong,
Monty

Welcome to the team! I've kind of hung up my triathlon spurs, haven't done one since age group nationals in August 2017 (which was unwise, I was not well trained and a week later wrenched my neck pretty badly).

However, considering I started triathlon at age 58, and finished my career at 64, I still keep aware, especially to encourage others who are starting out in the sport. All things are possible with determination and proper training, right?

Glad to meet you, and Good luck with your new goals! Oh and congrats on your MBA upcoming!

Hi all!

I've been a SP member for a long time - probably about 11 years when I lost weight the very first time. I'm just finishing up an MBA program which I blame my most recent weight loss on at least in part. I've done about 3 triathlons (all sprints) and then 1 half marathon and a few other longer running races. I am a cycle commuter and a water lover so triathlon is a good sport for me. I broke my ankle on vacation about a month ago but once I get my cast off (around the same time I'll finish my MBA program) I plan to use my extra time to work with a personal trainer with the goals of losing my freshman 15 (or full degree 20) and getting into good triathlon shape in hopes of doing an olympic race next year. Glad to meet you all! I'm not necessarily a pro but super happy to share any of my limited experience that might help others!
