Welcome, ENGINEERMOM!

I started my triathlon late in life, my first with a 58 on my leg. Love the sport, not especially "good" at it, but in my small local market, I'm one of few in my age group. Recently retired, tri training is my "new job" for 2018.

I'm working on a recovery year here, thinking of only one A triathlon... an Olympic one in September. And to fit into my wetsuit to do it! emoticon

Look forward to hearing how it goes for you this year!

Posted this in another topic, then realized I still hadn't introduced myself!

Where I live now: Northwest suburbs of Chicago

Where I've lived in the past:
Anchorage, Alaska - don't remember anything, I was a baby when we left!
Cleveland, OH - got a baby sister!
Princeton, NJ - learned how to bike and swim; got a baby brother!
Grand Forks, ND - learned how to road bike
Cincinnati, OH - started running for fun and exercise
Cleveland, OH - college
St. Paul, MN - met DH, got married, had DS, stopped riding, got plantar fasciitis, stopped running, kept swimming
Cincinnati, OH - had DD, gained a bunch of weight, kept swimming
Seattle, WA - lost some weight, got back into biking, got back into running, did my first triathlon and my first century bike ride (it's really hilly out there!)
Moved to Chi-town in 2015, lost some more weight, did some more centuries and one more triathlon.

I'd like to do some more sprint triathlons, and work up to an Olympic. I live in Graylake, which has a good lake for training (beach entry, non-motorized), and Lake County has some good cycling, and the forest preserves have good running trails. I took last summer off of training for triathlons because it was my first summer working full-time after being a SAHM for 7 years, and I wanted to make sure I was spending time with my kids. I kept running, biking, and swimming, just without a specific triathlon to train for.

This year, I'd like to get at least one triathlon in the books!

Take life one day at a time - enjoy today before you worry about tomorrow.
