Hi team!

My name is Nicole, and I wanted to stop by and give a hello and throw myself out there. I've been on SparkPeople for quite awhile, and I was just browsing through for a new team to join to help me stay active and maybe find a few new Spark friends :)

I'm 25, and have a lot to lose. I've lost a few pounds already, but it has been such a slow go. I get spurts of "MAN, I CAN'T WAIT TO EXERCISE!" mixed in with a lot of "UGGH, EXERCISE? I DON'T THINK SO" lol. Some weeks it's mostly the latter.. so I am just trying to find my niche (again) and get back into the swing of things.

Hi! I'm Erin. This is the end of my second week on Sparkpeople, and at my last weigh-in on Monday I already lost 6 lbs!!

Instead of only having a final goal weight, I'm doing mini-goals of 10% weight loss. Right now my goal is to lose 24 lbs by the beginning of August. I don't have a definite end-weight in mind, but I'm thinking between 120 and 140.

I've been with Spark People for years but fairly inactive for about 3-4 years.The past few years have been hard, but I'm getting back on my feet in terms of taking care of myself. They were all about just "surviving" everything going on in my life and having to make impossible decisions that affected many lives, esp. children's'. A few things: my husband had cancer 2x and passed away; I went from being a mother of two and foster mother of four to having to work full-time and having to let my foster children -- who all had special needs -- go (this really broke my heart; my husband and I loved our foster children dearly); we had just started working on our house when my husband was diagnosed with cancer and the builder walked off with 2/3 of the building money and our house in shambles. Just a few of the things which shattered me. Am doing much better now and then realize that I've let go of my health and need to work on it again. Have started working out iwth Coach Nicole and paying attention to what I eat again.

I'm Vicki and I live in Florida.
I'm working towards making the healthiest choices I can when it comes to taking care of myself.
I want to make exercise a top priority as I have a couple of health issues that exercise would improve. Also it would definately give me more energy.
I am basically trying to keep all my nutritional numbers within a set goal I think will work for me. It's not strictly any one specific program. If I had to push it, I'd be more inclined to say it's a low carb plan.
I'm working to lose about 100 lbs but have no set time to lose it in. I'd love to lose it over the next couple of years, but I tend to be a very slow loser. So I'll take it one pound at a time.

Hello e1. My name is Summer, and I am excited to be back on SP. I joined a few years ago, lost some weight, and then got hit by a semi with some medical issues for me, and then my father last year. My issue is under control, and I am ready to get in shape and be happy again.

Never in a million years did I ever think I would get to be 100+lbs over weight, but I am. It was easy to get this way when the guys I dated over the past 12 years complemented me as I got bigger & more curvy. Even though my bloodwork, bloodpressure, etc. are all great, I don't feel like I am healthy anymore (hard to bend over to tie shoes and can barely paint my toes), I am determined to bring my weight back down.

I am please to say since rejoining SP, I have lost 6 lbs. What a great way to start in only a week! good luck to you all, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi New Members ,

It is nice to meet you all . I wish you all the best of luck. It is a struggle , and it is nice to have people here along the way to help us and know that there are others trying to loose weight also. I am at my lowest now , but still have a long way to go . I take 10 lbs at a time .

Went to my Doctor to make sure I am eating right and everything is all right . I guess I am in good shape . He did tell me to take Vitamin B - Complex. Since being older we do loose more of it he says .

Make sure that you have a treat once in a while , it helps with the diet, and makes it more bearable .

Hello! I'm new to the club, but not new to Sparkpeople. I dropped off for a while and gained all and then some. So I started new last month, then developed a blood clot in my calf, so that derailed much of my exercise plans. But my leg is feeling much better so my March goal is now my April goal. *L* Really, I have decided that I'm only going to change one thing at a time diet wise and fitness wise. So that's 2 changes per month. And I'm not going to move on to something else until this becomes a thoughtless habit. I joined the Sparkpeople walk 5k. I know it's a 5 week training, I am giving myself 10 weeks. If I can do one of the weeks in one week, great. Otherwise, I'll work that week until I can do it. :) Anyways, that's enough babble.

Hello everyone. My name is Margret my 40th birthday is coming up I'm tired of being turned down for jobs because of my weight. I have a BS in Criminal Justice but noone will hire me because I can't pass the physical. This ends NOW. I'm determined to lose the weight that I need so that I can look and feel better. I want to be able to do more with my son. He likes to ride his bike and go camping. That is a little hard when you get out-of-breath shortly after you start your activity.

I started this year with a resolution that I found easier to keep than I thought. My New Year's resolution was to cut out fast food restaurants. So far, I haven't been to any. The temptation is very high with my present line of work, but it also forces me to pack a lunch or just plan one.

I look forward to helping, whenever I can, and to recieve any encouragement that I might get.

Hi everyone,
I'm ready to get started on my journey to health and overall well-being. It took many events snowballying before I realized I just have to do this. For Valentine's Day I asked my husband for a treadmill and tada... he got me one. I've set a goal of simply walking for 30 minutes daily and trying to watch my portion sizes. I've decided that I am not going to eliminate any food because I set myself up for failure when I do that. So I subscribed to Emeals portion control and am making those meals for the entire family. So far it's working. I'm excited about joining your team and look forward to giving as well as receiving motivation.

Hello every one.

I am using Spark people in conjunction with ediets. I signed up for the 7 day delivery plan. I have a crazy schedule and find it very hard to cook and thus always get junk food etc. This plan really speaks to me because it makes my life easier and the food is not too terrible LOL.

I am on day 2 and I have found that this is easy to stick to because the food is good and I can add my own fruit. I am using spark people to make sure I do not go overboard with add in (like fruit and dairy), so that I stay in my calorie range.

I have 110 lbs to lose and I am determined that I will do this!

My name is Marcia and I have been on Spark for over 5 years. It wasnt until this year that I decided to take full advantage of what the whole site offers and that includes all these wonderful teams. I have struggled with my weight my entire life, and I have done the yo-yo of losing and then gaining whatever I lost back plus an additional 10-15 pounds many times. I am 36, and I do not want to be overweight anymore. I am looking at this as an adventure, but an adventure that we are all on together. There are good times, and there are bad times. Hello everyone my name is Stephanie and I am 33yrs old. I work full time as a MA in an OBGYN office and also I am a full time student pursuing my Masters in education. After reviewing everyone post its like I was reading about myself. I remember always thinking that I was the only one feeling that way. I have always been the fattest one out of all my siblings and friends. I am tired of not being able to fasten my seat belt on the plane. A stewardess made me feel so bad in 8/2011 . Embarrassing me in front of my husband and family. We was returning back from the US Virgin Islands from burying my mother in-law who was diagnosed with colon cancer in june/11 and lost her battle 8/14/2011 one day before my 2yr anniversary. Well anyway she made this big scene about me not being able to fasten my belt that everyone started looking back at me.I was so embarrassed. So I decided to change.When I first started in 1/12 I was at 383lbs. I was tracking my food but i finally started when I joined the gym on 1/31/12 and now I am down to 371.2. I have a long way to go but I am up for the challenge. I am looking forward to chatting with everyone. I finally realize that I have to take care of me first. The first step was me being able to be honest about how much I weigh and to my surprise it felt like a weight was lifted of my shoulder.And also I decided to worry about what god think verses anyone else because at the end his opinion is what matters, And he do not make junk he just pick people he know will succeed and teach others that we can do anything we put our mind too. one luv

Hi Team!

My Names Ashley and I joined spark people in August of 2011. However I haven't been an active member at all; but I'm starting to change that! I've joined this team because I have over 100lbs to lose and looking at your teams page it seems like a very active a supportive team to be a part of. Hi,

My name is Yvette. Like many of you, I too joined Spark people years ago but never followed through with it. I have been at this weight loss drama for years now and enough is enough! I have no energy or desire to do much of anything but work. I am married with two sons and I now notice my youngest son is starting to pick up my bad habits. I am the only "fat" person in my home. I am ready to change the way I live my life and willing to put in the work to do it. I know it will not be easy nor will it happen overnight. Being able to honestly share the challenges I face with people who share these same struggles can only help.

Hi everyone! I'm Jennifer, I'm 36, married, mom of two sons, and live in Missouri. I've been on the weightloss rollercoaster for a very long time but just within the last year or so got more committed. I've lost 49 pounds but still need to lose 136 more. I go to the gym for an hour or more 5 days a week. My biggest issue is my eating habits and my motivation has been waning lately. I'm trying to keep it going by finding new challenges. I am looking into doing a 5K walk/run in May. I'm just so tired of not seeing the scale or my measuring tape move any more.

If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we 'd grab ours back.

Hey, I'm Cloey. I've used Spark on and off (mostly off) for the last 2 years. I'm turning 43 in two weeks and I don't want to spend the rest of my life this big. I want to lose 100 lbs. No, let me change that. I INTEND to lose 100 lbs. No matter how long it takes and what I need to do. I need to get my compulsive eating under control. I am also reading "A Course in Weight Loss" by Marianne Williamson. That is giving me some extra motivation and really getting to the core of my compulsive eating. I've lost 100 lbs 4 times in my life and many pounds in between. God didn't make me a toy, time to stop being a yo-yo!

Hi!! I am new to this group! I am just sick of feeling tired and sleepy all the time so I decided to make some changes this year. I started last Wednesday and so far I am feeling more energetic. Just need a group that can support me and keep me going. Wish everyone success on their journey!

hello all, My name is Valarie and I am not new to sparkpeople, but i am now ready to lose the Lbs. I am ready to change my life, I know longer want to be the fat mom, and I want to play tag with my kids. I am going to work on losing 10Lbs at a time and not yell at my self if I don't, as long as I am happy and healthy that's all that really matters. I know I will need help, i need someone I can be accountable to too. emoticon

Hi everyone,

I joined spark a long time ago but didn't take full advantage of it. Now I am ready to get started. Currently my weight is 268lbs. My goal weight is 150, but for now I would like to lose 10lbs by February 12, 2011.

Greetings Everyone: I am Mary. I joined SP years ago, and never did anything with it. I'm back to do something with it this time! I'm a Central Florida gal. I had a perfect day nutritionally. First days are always good for me on a new plan ... Sometimes even first week(s) then I begin to slide through irresistible temptations. I hope to become somewhat active on this board, because not only will it help to keep me straight, but in time, I may have words of wisdom to offer another. For now, I learn and listen and begin. Hello. My name is Jacque. I am a mother of 3. I weigh 271 lbs. and am 5'1". I joined SP some time ago and was on my way to losing weight. At that time I lost about 25 lbs. I tripped and fell. I gained the 25 lbs. plus another 20 lbs. This is my highest weight I have ever been and I don't feel good about myself. This is the main reason for making the change again. If you have any support or encouragement please send it my way. Thanks!!
