Re: posted...because it was a lot to say :) But looking forward to connecting and being accountable.

Hi I'm Ulyn a long time struggler with my weight. I am currently atmy heaviest ever. My husband and I are busy parents to 6 kiddles (atually we have a total of 8 but 6 I've given birth to), our youngest being 10mths old. Where do I begin??? I joined Spark people years ago when I was single mom of 4 and my youngest then who is now 6 almost 7 was 2yo. I loved the trackers but never got involved with the community. I did have a modicum of success...however there have been many stop and starts in my journey to being committed to myself. I recently remarried almost 2 yrs in May. What sucks was I was almost 40+ lbs lighter when I got married. I guess we have been too comfortable and a pregnancy throws off all my system...though I am blessed to never really gain alot during my pregnancies (historically my highest weight gain was 27lbs and last few pregnancies I gained less than 15lbs) my troubles are 20lbs I gain during my breastfeeding times :( But even that is managable my biggest trial is the weight and it's negative effects on my body. My hubby is a Godsend! He is very supportive and is amazing with taking care of me because...My weight is reeking havoc on my joints and back due to the strain of multiple pregnancies and past accidents catching up with me. I currently have loss of cartilage in my knees, osteo in ankle and knee joints, with occasional tendonitis and a back that has a mind of it's own. God bless my hubby. He loves me as I am but question is do I love where I am? I am also a developmental support worker. I have been off this past year on Maternity however being able to "run around" with the individuals we support is important to me because I am the recreational coordinator. A job that I love. Also as part of my giving back to myself I started to motivate my very talented kids to work hard at their abilities with music, I started voice lessons again. In my youth I was blessed to sing with the Opera company here in the chorus on the main stage. So by getting fit again it acheives the following: 1) I get to be a healthier me: less pain and hopefully slow down the degeneration of my joints 2) my beloved gets a partner he can fully enjoy life with and hopefully not have to always be a nursemaid too. 3) I miss being able to run around at the park with my kiddles, have epic foam sword fights and dance with them. 4) as a vocalist I am better musician support for my core. 5) In the back of my mind I am aware that high blood pressure, strokes, heart issues, diabetes, breast cancer runs in our family and I owe us my life. I do not want to give up, half commit, or forget this is my life choice...I don't want to see a measure of success and think I don't need this. Okay thanks all for your advice and I look forward to this journey with you all. Sorry I talk alot :) Blessings all.
