Thank you! I agree I have the tools in place... it's the "using them" that's the struggle. emoticon
I'm off for a lower body/weight work out right now - thanks for the encouragement!

My dear, you have the tools in place! Now it's using them. With SP support that will become easier. It is hard when life is so busy! But I really had to remind myself -- I was /am worth the time to take care of my health.

It is so important (as you already know!) w/adrenal issues to live wisely -- nutrition, exercise, and whatever other supports you need -- to heal.

Good luck to you!

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Congratulations! I admire the path you've taken, and you're sticking with it! Small steps building into larger ones. Good luck on the rest of your journey. Keep up the good work.

So... hello! I am Michelle, a 52 year old, full-time mom of teenagers and public school (high school) teacher. About 10 years ago I began a journey of clean-eating and working out (at ungodly morning hours) and I lost 40+ pounds... yay! I kept it off for about 2 years before work and life and emotional eating took control and I put it back on - and then some. I have tried all sorts of non-structured, organic ways of trying to get the weight back off but the truth is - I do best with structure. So - I'm back with SparkPeople, where I lost the 40 pounds to begin with.

I am seeing a naturopathic doctor to try to integrate natural healing (adrenal condition, high blood pressure) and healty lifestyle choices and after this week's appointment I decided to concentrate on one thing per week to really get control of. This week it's sugar. And I'm doing well so far (4 days in anyway). Then it will be a little exercise (2 days/week - weights becuase I actually enjoy that and don't get discouraged becuase I feel so out of shape). Then water (probably I should tackle that sooner, but I'm not horrible at that, just not great, so that can wait). I'm hoping that by biting off small chunks it willl feel more doable.

Oh - and I know I know I know I need to track. It's just a pain when you're eating recipes vs. individual food. 10 years ago I just took the time, buckled down and did it. Today, i no longer have the patience. But without it I am not making good choices. So that's what I could really use support with.

Oh, and I recently (December) started a journey with plant-based (mostly) eating. I love it. I never really liked meat anyway, so giving that up has been easy and my family is good with the change. I am slowly moving toward a more plant based lifestyle but I find myself replacing bad animal fats with more plant-based unhealty choices. So much to address, right?

Thanks in advance for any support this group can give, and I will do my best to give support in exchange!
