Hi all,

I'm Kelly :) I'm 29, but since I'll be turning 30 in a few months I thought I'd join the community as I plan to be an active member on Sparkpeople after going through fluctuations of activity on this site over the years.

As for me, I just graduated from grad school and moved to the DC area for a job with a great non-profit. I've been overweight all my life and since 2010 have dropped 30 pounds gained 20, lost 30, and since Fall 2012 have put on 50. I stepped on the scale yesterday and was 2.2 pounds from my highest - something I told myself I'd never reach again.

So here I am, hoping to find a friend (hopefully more than one, ha!) who is going through a similar weight loss journey!

Hi I'm Jess , I've been on SP for while but never consistent ...which is my main problem , and recently admitted i have an eating disorder ...my hubs calls it grazing. I work nights and my days off i try to be daytime person but its not working for me. I don't eat all day then stuff myself to the gills. or graze the cabinets at night and eat ton of calories within a 10 min span. so slowly I've been trying to eat smaller meals and stay away from processed foods for the most part. I'm down 17 lbs since sept and still trying to fight on despite my PCOS and hypothyroidism. Just need to be consistent and embrace support from others on this journey.

I just joined 3 weeks ago. Every day I have added something new to my change, I don't deprive myself of everything I love, but manage it and I'm trying to learn how to make those things more healthy.
Good luck to you. I too have over 100 pounds to loss. I feel this is a long process, but every day I overcome an obstacle I feel strong and proud.

Hi everyone. It's _WRITERGIRL_. I deleted that account because I thought I didn't need SP any more. I was very very wrong. I tried doing things "my way" and without the support here and it backfired. I gained weight and I felt isolated. So, I'm back.

As a quick intro, I'm 35 years old, married with 2 teenage stepkids and 3 very spoiled cats. I love creative writing, blogging, and digital photography. I have over 140 pounds to lose, which is overwhelming, but I'm taking it one day at a time. I very much want spark friends, so if I sound like someone you might like to get to know, please add me. My name is Wendy and I am here to finally lose this weight and keep it off. Over a year ago I started a weight loss program and I loss about 70 pounds and I felt good. I am also sad to say I gained it all back and then some. I am ready for a new life. I am starting a new job and figured what better time to get my life and my body back in order. I stepped on the scale and it said 244.4 and I was shocked. I am going to start this journey today and plan on sticking to it for the duration, I want to be healthy.

Although I just re-joined SparkPeople {for about the 500th time} I am new to this group and new to actually DOING something about my health and weight as opposed to just PLANNING to do something.

I weighed in today for the first time in quite some time, and was actually quite surprised to see the number 408 flash on my scale. This is officially the most I have ever weighed in my life, and although part of me is all gung-ho "I CAN DO IT" Nike slogans, the rest of me is like... holy crap.... how did THAT happen?

So, I've definitely got more than 100 pounds to lose... would it ever be possible for me to see the 200s again? Who knows? I figure... why not try? What's the worst that could happen? *lol*

So throw your best "I CAN DO IT" Nike slogan at me, and let's DO THIS!

I am not a "new" member but I haven't used Spark in a few years besides the recipe side. Totally forgot about the great tools and support! I started my journey once again last January and now I am 71 lbs lighter :) I love being free and confident in myself! You can do it - YOU can change, no one else can do it for you. And you know what I learned that made things different this time? FORGIVENESS! We have to forgive ourselves when we go crazy at the buffet or cover our heads up under the covers instead of hitting the gym. By celebrating my each and every small success and giving myself grace - I will reach 100lbs loss and keep this new healthy me!

Hello, I actually am not sure if I have introduced myself to the group that I have been in for over a year now. I am Jamie, just turned 31, and I have a lot of weight to loose. I have been actively trying to loose weight since April of 2013 and I hit my highest weight in February. I just want to overall more healthy and feel better about myself. Personal stuff, I have a husband who is also loosing weight (of course a lot faster than me), I have a little dog who is about 13 years old, and right now we all live with my parents and brother while my husband and I save money to pay off some bills and get a nice place to live. I am a stay at home wife. We don't have any kids and don't plan to. That's just about it.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 30 and have been working hard this year on getting healthy. My long term goal is to get to 160ish lbs, but for now I just take it 25 lbs at time. I started the year at 348.6 and as of this morning am at 282. I am closing in on my 75 lbs mark :)

I don't think about the long term number, because it just depresses me. I just take it 25 lbs. I don't look at my progress thus far as being almost 75 lbs but rather that I've lost 25 twice and am working on a third. After all, 25 is an achievable goal... I'm just choosing to achieve it multiple times.

Failure isn't falling off the horse, it's not getting right back on...

And success is not a destination, it's a lifelong journey

Hi! Celebrated a birthday yesterday and am ready to make weight loss a focus. I recently took a year's worth of fashion design classes and am ready to start making fun fashions for myself. Ready to have a cinched waist! Used to be really athletic so maybe I'll find that side of me again. I must admit I have trouble getting past three weeks worth of training due to sore calves generally. I understand the importance of taking it slow, so since it may take nearly a year to get through this if I can stick with it, I guess I don't need to rush things, but simply make positive changes for good. Looking forward to this group's support!

Hi I tried joining sparks last year. At the time I didn't really follow anything and slipped along the way out. I went from needing to loss 90 pound to now needing to loss over 100 pound.
I have a wonderful five year old son and a husband that says he will be joining me after thanksgiving on this life-style change. My first week back and I have been counting every calorie and walking more.

Hi Everyone!

I'm back! This time has to be for good though! in 06/07 I was able to loose 60+lbs in 6 months and keep it off for a while. But with a divorce, kids and new hubby and just life in general I gained it back and More! Needless to say I been stuck in a sad state of mind. Just hating everything about myself. I was just in such denial about my health and weight until I went to the doctors on the 10/25 and stepped on the scale and actually seen the numbers 342. I was shook. How did I get this far?? I am only 31, I have a 3 kids that look up to me that depend on me. My husband loves and supports me no matter what, but I didn't feel the same way about myself. My blood pressure had always been great but now it was BORDERLINE. I was spiraling out of control to say the least.
This time I started slow... just really paying attention to what I was eating. As of yesterday, I lost 5lbs which makes me really feel like I can do this! Really hope to seeing how everyone progresses through all our journeys!

Hi there!!! I'm 35 years old, married, mother of 2 ( a 9 year old girl and a 4 year old boy). I have been on and off of Spark several times throughout the last few years. I have never become involved with teams, posts, points, or anything like that so I'm am learning how to maneuver around. I have plenty of weight to lose and my goal is to lose 126lbs after that I will see how I look and feel before deciding how much more to lose! Hi everyone - im 32 years old - mummy of 2 under 3 and have just joined today as I need to take a leap and start losing the weight. I have 140 lbs to lose so I can be more active and run and play with my kids (and im including my husband in that category!) I live in the UK and am still trying to work out how to use the site :)

Hi my name is Tia. I am married with 3 children and am attempting to get down into a healthier BMI. I need to loose over 100 lbs to do that. Hello! I have been yo yo dieting for years. Finally I used WW to change my eating habits and I got myself down to 230. I followed those guidelines but changed my diet to less processed foods and between child #3 and 4 i made it to 210. After child #4 we helped out a friend for a year and with that stress I went back up to 245 before I became pregnant with #5. She is now 6 weeks old and I hope to be cleared for the gym in 2-3 more weeks. I am back down to 235 now and want to keep up the weight loss.

Hi all, my name is Deb - I live in Tauranga, New Zealand and joined SP last year with a lot of motivation and did pretty well - then life hit me again and I ended up back unable to function depending on meds and pretty much gave up :-( so here I am back again. I came back 2 months ago and joined the team 50-99 pounds to lose as I thought 100 was just impossible to contemplate ... but now my head is in the game not only do I realise it is possible its what I want and need ... so today I plucked up the courage to join :-)

Hi Everyone. I'm reintroducing myself since I've been MIA for a very long time. My name is Elaina. I'm 39 hrs old. I turn 40 in March...but don't want to leave 30 something!!! I'd have to admit i'm not in my 30's anymore. Hmmmm. Not ready for that change. :) I have a beautiful little boy. 2 years old. He keeps me busy. He's the big reason I burn extra calories each day. Love him to pieces. Married to a wonderful man. We just celebrated our 11 yr anniversary in Sept. Life is good. :) only thing is I weigh close to 300 pounds and it's slowing me down. I can't do all the things I know I'm capable of without feeling winded or my feet, knees and hips hurt. I'm so ready to change. I'm just finding my mojo! :)
