I joined back in Feb, but after a couple of days I just reverted back to bad habits. So 5 days ago I decided to come back and give it another go, but this time actually try. To keep myself accountable, I joined the 21 day new member challenge. The task for the day was to introduce myself on the message boards. So here I am!

Hello, fellow 20 somethings with 100+ pounds to lose! My name is Kay. I'm 27 years old (28 in June) and weigh 317 lbs as of my initial weigh in (my next one is Sunday so I'm hoping that number drops a little bit...we will see). My long-term goal is to get to a healthy body weight--something I've never been before. My more immediate goal is just to get in the 200s again.

I have social anxiety and major depression. Rarely do I leave the house which is something I need to work on. I used to see a therapist and psychiatrist ~3x a week before I realized it wasn't really helping (the only time I left the house still was to go to the doctor's office and it made me feel worse about myself). At first I just hid away in my house again, but I remembered why I went to see them in the first place. So I decided to take matters into my own hands.

That's one of the main reasons I joined SP. I was hoping that if I felt good about myself then maybe I'd feel confident enough to do things and go places. Taking care of myself seemed like a really good place for me to start. And before a lot of things happened in my life a few years ago (family drama, deaths, etc) I tried Spark before and it really worked. When I'm willing to put in the time and effort. I went from 298 to 275 and I'd like to do that again...and then some! I really did feel more confident about myself during that time.

Looking at what everyone does here, no matter how small, inspires me. Seeing the positive attitudes that everyone has helps me remain positive--and that's something I really struggle with at times. Usually I'm so negative (at least when it comes to myself). I look forward to meeting new people here. Thank you all for reading and listening to me ramble on.
