Heather from Tennessee here. Have 105 pounds to lose to go from 280 to 175. Will evaluate my goals once I reach 175 and see if I am happy at that weight or need to lose more. I do not worry so much about the BMI and some of those numbers as much as I worry about overall health. I am working on building muscle and becoming strong and toned - not a skinny minny! I would rather weight 200 and be muscular then be 150 and sickly. 170 was my high school weight that I was extremely active and strong.

Looking forward to this journey to a healthier me!

Hey everyone! My name is Jessica. I'm 24, a Junior at a local University looking to get my Bachelor's degree in Animal Science so that I can be a zookeeper! Hello SparkPeople! I am actually not new to SP or this group. I joined SparkPeople back in 2010 to lose weight for my brother's wedding and for my health. I lost 30 pounds and was really on the way to success. I stopped SparkPeople, and somehow have gained all that weight back plus lots more. I am the heaviest I've ever been, and have about 125 pounds to lose TOTAL. Short term goal for me is to lose 50 pounds by June. Now, a little more about me!

Hello everyone!
My name is Beth. I live in Iowa. My husband and I farm and we have a 4 month old son who brings us great joy. I have been on this site before but wasn't very serious about tracking the food I eat I know I need to make many lifestyle choices if I want to see our son and future children grow up. I'm sick of feeling miserable all the time. My husband says he will support me, but not sure how ordering a taco pizza and bringing home pop is being supportive, so I could use some support I guess.

Hi everyone, I joined this group I think almost 2 yrs ago not sure. I was 335 at that time, but I ended up gaining an addition 30 pounds I was a total of 365 and then I left where I was at started a new. I currently weight 312 now and I am tired of living this way I am trying to make healthy choices, but sadly my "addiction" to food is sometimes I overwhelming. I am hoping to stick to it and be in this group as inspiration to continue on a good path to continue to lose weight and get to my goal weight. We all can do it!

Hey everyone!

My name is Kristin from Yakima, WA where I have lived my entire life besides going to college. Everyone in my family is thin, well except me that is. ;) I am new to this site and I guess am just looking for the motivation to take charge of my life in more ways than one. I'm tired of being tired, lonely single and fat lol. Okay, not fat but way overly fluffy in certain areas that shouldn't be fluffy if you know what I mean.

I am the girl who looks for happiness I guess at this point in all the wrong places, and end up feeling worse rather than feeling better. I did everything in high school and never let my weight stand in my way. I was a cheerleader, participated in all dances and social events as well as being part of every program at school. When I started college things started changing for me. I stayed in more, became less involved with things and just went to class then back home. I ended up gaining about 80lbs during college. I graduated and moved back to my hometown where one day I had had enough. I started working out religiously and eating very healthy. I dropped around 95lbs and was feeling great and was actually smaller than I was in high school. However I have hit a wall and am now just stuck in this place where working out bores me and I come up with an excuse every time I should be working out. I do not eat a lot, however the 1-2 meals that I do eat during the day are horrible choices. Plus my snack options are usually something that is covered in sodium or full of carbs. I do not drink nearly enough water or take nearly as many vitamins as I should.

If anyone would like to jump on this train to motivation station by all means friend me and we will hopefully make healthier choices together... :)

Hello!!!

I'm a 29 year old woman who has been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years. God has blessed us with 2 children. Our son who is 9 and our daughter who is 1. We live in the southern part of Kentucky, but I was born and raised in a small, farming community about 45 min out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

I've always had a hard time with my weight. I always hoped I would grow out of my whole "chunky" stage and I did...just not the way that I was hoping. I grew right out of my "chunky" stage into my current "obese" stage. As of right now, I need to lose around 110 lbs to get to a healthy BMI. Huge task, but with my family's support, you all cheering me on, and God helping me, I know that I can do this!

Hi everyone!

I'm Beth, new to SparkPeople (I've admittedly been on the site in the past, but wasn't in a good place to be making changes), and super excited to take charge of my health.

A little about me: I'm a 20-something, in graduate school and working, and love to have fun. If anyone watches New Girl, I'm the Coach of any friend group I'm in. I'm tired of being the fun, pretty, fat friend, and most of all, am tired of feeling like I'm cheating my body and my health.

Hi! My name is Amanda and I'm 23 (24 on the 12th!). I'm having issues with staying on top of losing weight. Exercising and staying under calories is a big challenge, but I'm getting better! I'm a 29 year old woman who has been married to my amazing husband for 10 years. We've been blessed with our two children who are amazing and beautiful.

I've always been on the chunky side, but after giving birth to our children, I gained weight. 80 lbs. to be exact.

Even though I'm a blessed woman to have a husband and children who adore me for who I am, I realize that I need to get in shape. Not to be loved, but to simply be healthy.

Hello my name is Nicole but Im perfectly fine with being called my username as well. I need to lose 115 pounds and Id like to lose hopefully 15 to 20 pounds before the new year starts. Ive struggled really bad within the last few years to lose weight. I actually got down to 135 before but ended up regaining it all and gaining even more. I refuse to give up on losing it again thou. Hello, my name is Izzy. I'm 22 and I've been on Spark off and on for a few years now but never really used it as a resource. I have a history of disordered eating, so for a long time Spark was not a place that was comfortable for me; but I have come a long way. I am serious about getting healthier this time. My goal weight is more of a rough estimate, but I mostly just would like to be smaller and have a healthier relationship with food.

Hello! I'm LaNecia from Cincinnati. This morning my scale said 270.6 my long term goal is to get down to 154. I have a birthday coming up in about 2 and a half months, I would love be down at least 25 lbs by then. Hello everyone! I am new to spark people. My name is Kassie Smith, I'm 27 and live in Tennessee. I am currently at the heaviest I've ever been (310lbs.) and I am miserable. My name is Jessica. I've been overweight since Junior High. Wow, almost 2 decades and my entire adult life, I've been overweight. (Size 12 in 8th Grade, Size 16 my Senior year in high school, Size 20 my Sophomore year in college, Currently size 24...I'm not liking this trend) I have escaped bullying, and am very grateful for that, but I still feel apart. Hey everyone!! My name is Jessica! I will be 28 next month (Sept 23rd) and am looking to lose another 108 lbs or so. I dont really have a certain body weight or size to get to, just a round about area that I think I may like to be in and then we will see if I need to change my goals or not! I live in TN and have been married for 7 years (Aug 31st). I have no kids yet, which is another huge reason of trying to get healthy.. I suffer from PCOS, hypothyroidism, a poor functioning gallbladder, and some other things.. but the biggest ordeal is the PCOS. I cant wait to get back on the wagon again. Hi I am Sabrina. Born in South Africa but New Zealand is home.

-Have 53kg to lose (116lbs)
- My current weight is 112kg (246lbs) Wow, things sound better in kg's!
-I live in New Zealand, both Auckland and Dunedin.
-I am 24 years old and postgrad uni student
-My biggest reason for losing weight is confidence, my self esteem is at an all time low and it's affecting my life greatly, I have isolated myself and realising lately that I can't find any good qualities that I like about myself made me realise I need to achieve goals and do things that will make me proud of myself and learn to love myself again, be able to go to the store and not be scared to try clothes on, go out and meet people and not be scared to talk because I am afraid of being judged because of my weight. I feel like I am still young and losing out on a lot of life because of my weight and how much confidence and self-esteem it has made me lose.

Despite my location I am hoping to find accountability buddies anyway.

Hi! I'm new here from Oregon. I'm 25 and have tried numerous times to lose the weight. As I get older I realize that it will get harder. I need to get this under control before it really starts taking it's toll.

Hi everyone Im Sam. Im from Pennsylvania but currently live in Alabama! I am 24 and trying have been trying to lose weight since I was a teen. Seems like no matter what I do I cant seem to do it and have been very inconsistent. im hoping that by joining teams here I can find support that I need to help reach my goal weight!

So I'm Manda, or Amanda. Seems like there are a lot of Amanda's on here so i'll go with Manda =)

Like many of us, I have been over weight my entire life. It got worse after being made fun of during my adolescent years, for being slightly over weight. Rather than eating my way through a lot of food, I stopped eating in front of people, including my parents and would only eat late at night and only a little bit just to make sure I didn't die from starvation. Due to this, my body stored fat like a crazy thing and well, this is how we got where I am now.

I am 323 lbs, and would like to get to 180 or less but I want to be realistic. Feel free to add me, to motivate me and kick me in the butt to make sure I get this done!

When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Annie; I am 27 and live in Virginia. My husband and I have been married for almost 2 years and are planning to start a family soon. This upcoming school year will be my 5th working as a kindergarten assistant.

I am carrying an extra 150 lbs but will settle for losing 100. I don't see myself actually getting down to 125lbs like my ideal BMI calls for. My goal is to get down to 175. While losing the weight is important for my overall health, my weight is causing fertility issues. I also want to be healthy for my future children.

My hobbies include crocheting, reading, and most recently jogging.

Hi all!

I'm Cerys, a 27 year old Science teacher in the UK. I'm getting married next year to my best friend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and I have recently had surgery on both of my feet, which means that once foot 2 is finished healing in a few weeks, I will have no excuses but millions of reasons to why it would be a great reason to keep going on this weight loss journey.

I am definitely not new to sparkpeople.. but definitely feeling like I have more spark than I have ever had.. so got to be a good thing right??

Hi! I'm Heather. Long-term girlfriend (5 years in a few weeks!), mother of a beautiful little girl, student for my Master's degree in English Education, and a teacher to about 120 crazy seventh graders. This definitely isn't my first time with Sparkpeople, but after my FitBit stopped working, I felt like I needed to keep better accountability. Today was my first cardio class since I started teaching and it felt wonderful. I am running the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February and need to keep my self accountable for training. I have 135 pounds to lose and have never been below 190 in my adult life. By the time the marathon comes, my goal is to be below 200.
