Hello everyone!

I'm 23 years old and I need to lose about 100 more pounds to be where I want to be. I have been an on-again, off-again member of SparkPeople for about 2 years now, but I've recently started using it more avidly. I am from North Carolina, but I joined Teach for America and I'm teaching in New Mexico. Teaching keeps me busy, but I have found time to cook more and exercise more so I'm making a real effort at actually going the distance this time.

I also started doing the Couch to 5K program, and I'm on week 4. I jogged two 5 minute intervals tonight, and I was pretty impressed with myself. I can't wait to be able to jog even longer, and hopefully faster!

I don't even know if I'm posting this correctly, but I finally filled out a profile page on this website after having been an inactive member for a year or two. I'm tired of being a big gal, and am reaaaally, really looking forward to some good ol' fashioned sweating and celery crunching. Mental note - tomorrow buy celery.

I just rejoined Sparks people today. I used spark about 4 years ago to loose 60 pounds and here I am again loosing weight. I have 2 kids since then so I think the weight just started piling on again because of that. I am looking forward to getting to know some of you! And to get the numbers on the scale running in the right direction :)

Hello! Im very excited to actually be using this service, lol. Since changing my lifestyle I have had a hard time talking to people who can relate to needing to lose a large amount of weight. Even friends who, with a good heart, tell me its ok to be "full figured." I want to not only lose weight but have a healthy life style. After neglecting myself all year I looked at a vision board i created for 2012 and decided there's no better time than now to reach my goal. So here I am emoticon

Hello all!! I've been around spark people for a while, but haven't put it to use until now.

I'm tired of being tired all the time, and would like to know what it's like to be fit and healthy for once! My ultimate goal is to join the military. I have always wanted to join, but the thought of boot camp scared me off. I was never motivated to lose 60+ pounds just to be yelled at my drill sergeants for 8 weeks. However, I think if I can manager to lose 100+ pounds AND learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle...being yelled at for 8 weeks will be nothing in comparison to my new found self confidence.

Hello, my name is Kyra and I am excited about this new chapter in my life. I need to lose 105 lbs. I just quit smoking about 2 months ago and I am ready to lose some weight. I knew I needed to lose weight and I knew I didn't look good but I had my wake up call a little over a week ago while I was playing on my ITouch. I was playing a game on my touch when accidentally went to my camera and it was on the facing camera so my face showed up on the screen and it literally jumped me. I did not recognize myself at all. So I am ready to get going and ready to feel sexy again.

Hi everyone! I'm 26 years old and currently weigh 268lbs. I am hoping to lose 120 pounds over the course of the next year. Been heavy my entire life and guess it's finally caught up with me because I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This is why I want to lose the weight. I need to be more active and make better food choices. I'd love to make some friends in the "20 Somethings with 100+ Pounds to Lose" SparkTeam because it would be nice to connect with others who have something in common. Thanks and good luck to all! :)

What would you attempt, if you knew you could not fail?

Hi. I'm Felicity. I'm 27. I am a wife. I am a mom of 3 kids. I live in North Texas and have a basically normal life. Except...I weight 282 pounds, I have depression, and a terrible anxiety disorder (or 3). I am terrified to leave my house most days, and I eat to make myself feel better. Geez, my entire life, I've been eating to make myself feel better. It doesn't work. I feel worse. I'm diabetic, have HBP, and high cholesterol. I'm only in my 20's and yet, I feel like a sick old woman. I should be running around, chasing my 2 year old twins and helping my 6 year old ride her bicycle. So, anyway, that's why I'm here. I'm scarey motivated and I'm scared it'll fade. Hopefully I'll stick to it. I'm aiming for 180 right now. I think that's fairly more realistic than 130 or so. UGH. That's alot to lose. Anyway, if you want to add me as a friend, I'm here. I can barely motivate myself most days, so I'm probably not good motivation for others, but I'm a good friend.

Hi! I'm Jillmarie - I joined a played around with the site a couple months ago but then kind of got discouraged/shy/overwhelmed. You know how it goes.
I am a Chicago native, but was living in Virginia up until a few weeks ago when my boyfriend got out of the Navy. We just relocated to South Carolina and are absolutely loving it.

Anyway, I really want to change. I feel like I have all of the tools necessary for weight loss and making smart choices, I just have trouble knowing how to utilize them to my full potential. I hope that makes sense. I am just sick of having a closet full of clothes that don't fit the way they should, and I'm sick of going to the doctor and finding out I gained another pound. It's so annoying and I'm over it.

I really hope to stick to this and get to know some people.
Thanks for reading!

Hi! I am also a newbie this month. I have 110lbs to lose. I lost 40lbs right before my wedding last year, but we all know how we are when we are done planning something. I let myself go. While my husband loves me the way I am right now, I have to say, I am doing this for myself. I want to be able to run around and play with my future children. I am sure most of us on here have dieted before but this site is set up completely different than anything I have tried in the past and I really believe I could have the support of this site and the other people on here to help me reach my goal!

Hi everyone! My name is April. I'm new to this as well, not to dieting of course but I fully intend on giving it my all and sticking to my plan as much as possible.
I'm 25 and ever since my early teens I've been between 245-315lbs. I have horrible eating habits, not that I binge I simply snack on junk and I hate most vegetables. I also have no will power so I always end up talking myself out of my diet. "oh, I'll try again later, I've already wrecked my diet anyway." I have no motivation unless I'm watching a weight loss video on YouTube. Anyone else relate to my story? How do you overcome it?

Hello, my name is Katie; I'm 28 years old and weigh more than I ever have. I've always been a bigger girl but was very active in school. Now that I have been out for 10 years (ahhh), I have realized my life is not as active as it should be. I miscarried in 2003 and since then I have been gaining weight, due to depression, and food filled that void for me. First step is admitting that you have a problem, well to everyone here! I do! I'm done! My husband and I have been married for 7 years and I want to be happy in my own skin, I love him and our life more than anyone could ever imagine. Now it's time for me to be on top of the world. Having a supportive group around me can only help me! So, the journey starts now and I'm all in! emoticon

Hello, hello! I'm Spencer and only semi-new to Spark. I've actually had a few other stints here, dating back to fall of 2010. Now that 2013 is right around the corner I find myself so disappointed and frustrated, because I've more or less invested 3 years of hopes and dreams into losing weight and getting fit. At the start of 2012 I had a credible diet and work out plan going for me that did wonders. It wasn't any kind of quick fix either. Mostly, I began eating organic and soy. (Which I loved!) Much to my dismay though -- that diet life proved to be a little expensive for the budget I had to work with. Needless to say, stresses of life popped up which literally knocked me for a loop. I spent most of the spring reeling from some personal blows, before I became overwhelmed with work. Long shifts only further fueled unhealthy habits...

I've since quit the toxic job that brought me down -- and while I do have a few more hurdles to jump, I'm keen to get back on the right path. I personally never felt better than when I was eating right and working out. I enjoy cooking and baking healthy meals. I think my biggest problem is being consistent with my work outs... I get bored very easily! So I'd like to try and develop some friendships and support here on Spark. Often feeling as if I'm going it alone without any REAL support tends to leave me frustrated and depressed.

I'm trying to think ahead this time, by taking additional steps to ensure that I have what I'm craving. That being support! So hopefully some of you ladies are willing to buddy up or point me in the right direction of other 20 something chicks that are game to swap stories, both good and bad.

~ Spencer

Hi! My name is Tiffany and I've been on here for a little over a week. I started at 256 and was down 6 lbs in my first week! I've gained and lost many times over the years using WW and other programs, but I think SP is easier to use and makes more sense in my life. Also, I'm loving the app! I have never been one to post online, but this community seems very supportive, so I thought this might help keep me motivated. :)

I am a middle school teacher and have a lot of stress in my job. I have been working extra-long hours this year, but am determined to find time to exercise, including with a Zumba group some teachers started after work two days a week. I am one of the track coaches (shot put and discus), and hope that I will be fit enough to run with my students during track season beginning this January instead of just standing on the sidelines. In the long run, I'd like to lose about 115 lbs and run the Peachtree Road Race (a 10k on the 4th of July in Atlanta) next summer. I walked it a few years ago, but this time I want to run it!

Allo! My name is Tricia, and I read about this site on Yahoo. I can use all the help I can get - my goal next year is to run a 5 mile race. It's adorably called the Pumpkin Run, and I'm smitten with it. However, a) I've never run a full mile in my life, and b) I imagine it's easier to run said Pumpkin Run without all the extra weight holding me back.

Hello everybody,
My name is Lynette and I currently weigh 320. I have been struggling with being overweight all of my life and I am just to the point that I am sick and tired of it. I really hope that this will work for me. I have been exercising daily and eating healthy for about 2 weeks now. A friend of mine told me about this website yesterday, so I am giving it a try. Good luck everybody with your weight loss goals. emoticon

Hello,
I am new to this group, I have decided to make some changes in my life so that I can lose weight. I have lost 35 lbs already and thought I was doing good, my husband and I went out to eat at Red Lobster for his birthday and as we were ready to leave there had been a wreck right in front of the only exit to the parking lot so we were stuck, well we were standing outside talking with other people and a lady came up to me and very concerned asked me if the baby and I had been involved in the wreck, well I don't have a baby and I knew exactly what she meant, she thought I was pregnant, I was far too humiliated to say I am not pregnant so I just went along with it and told her that no we were not in the wreck, I kept myself together long enough to make it to my car where I balled my eyes out. I went into a depressed mode like none before, then I snapped out of it on Sunday. I thought to myself, I am the reason she thought I was pregnant no one else is at fault here, so I decided to join Zumba at my church and I decided to start using this website for support and I use myfitnesspal to track my calories. I am looking forward to the new me!!!

Hi All,
I've been a Spark People member for quite some time, but it never stuck. I've decided to give it a go once more. I've been reading various posts and it is so inspiring that there are so many other people like me. I have a long way to go, but I am ready!

Hey All,
My name is Mya and I am 25 years old. I have been trying to lose weight for awhile now. I am currently at 329 and am at my heaviest. I have recently been asked to be in a friends wedding and when I got my dress it had to be taken out as much as it could be and it still didn't fit. So this is the perfect time for me to start back on the wagon and lose all the weight I can before December 1st. My long term goal is to get down to 190 for now. I know its going to be hard but with a lot of encouragement I will do it. I look forward to hopefully being an encouragement to all of you as well as being encouraged. God will direct our paths.

Hi I'm Heather, and I'm 23. I'm from Louisiana, but I'm currently living in Northeast Thailand. I'm here trying to get a handle on my weight. I've been overweight all my life. I want to lose the weight, but I have a hard time sticking with any program. I lost about 40 lbs when I first moved to Thailand, but I've gained them all back and then some. I'm now at about 270 lbs and looking to get down to about 155-160. My biggest goal is to get under 200 lbs. Medically I'm healthy, but I'm sick of being tired and feeling weighed down constantly.

Hi Chelsea! Welcome back :) I've been a returning newbie a time or two.... lol. We're glad to have you back! Mexican is one of my weaknesses as well, but we can get through it. I wish you the very best of luck! If you ever need anything, let me know!

And Kelli, hello to you as well and welcome!! Congrats on what you've gotten down to so far, that's an amazing loss! I am sorry you fell off the wagon, but it happens to the best of us, I'm just glad you got back on :) Best of luck to you as well!

Take care ladies, and again, glad to have you!

Hello All, I am Kelli and I will be 27 later this month. At the beginning of this whole trip I started out at 365 but was able to get down to 300 at the start of this year. Unfortunately I fell off the wagon and began to go back to my old eating habits. I gain 20 pounds so now I am back up to 320. Now I am trying to get back on the wagon and pray that this time I will succeed.

Hey Everybody!

My name is Chelsea, and I like to call myself a "returning newbie"! ;-) It's been a while since I've been on SP, but I'm glad to be back!

I'm originally from Cananda, but I've moved to Oklahoma City, OK in the past year. Prior to moving, I was on a weight-loss plan that allowed me to lose 57 pounds! I felt incredibly empowered! But with the move, and with my introduction to a whole new world of foods (Southern Food and Mexican Food being the hardest!), I have fallen off the wagon, and I have the butt sores to prove it!!

But I'm back, and ready to do this! I'm back on my plan, and staying accountable with you all, as well as some of my co-workers.

My goal is to lose 167 pounds by 2014. I'm determined to do it!!!

I'm pretty friendly, so if you have any questions, want to know more about me, just ask! :-)

Iím not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, donít get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but Iíve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onwardóto Jesus. Iím off and running, and Iím not turning back.

"So letís keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in m

Hi I'm Triksy, I've been on Sparkpeople for about a month now. I just happened to run across this group and thought I would check it out. I was a little skeptical at first because i'm at the later end of my 20's but many of the other groups set up for people over 300lbs are filled with people much older. While everyone has been super nice and really supportive I just don't feel like I can relate. I'm not mobility limited, I'm not home-bound, I'm just fat. And I need to do something about it. I'm young, I have a life and I need to start living it. From what I can tell this is where I should have been from the beginning. So hopefully I'll be chatting with you all soon.

I am currently 28 and my starting weight was 336. I'm happy to say I am now down to 314 but there's still a very long way to go.

I am married and have an 8 year old daughter. I was slightly overweight as a child and teenager but I had a difficult pregnancy that left me on bed rest and gaining more than 150lbs. On the day of my delivery I weighed in at 312 and was hopeful that my life would go back to normal. Was I ever wrong, all that weight that I gained so easily didn't want to leave so here I am 8 years later and still in the 300's. But I've made excuses long enough its time for me to do something about it.

I'm a pretty open person, anything you would like to know about me feel free to ask.

Hi My name is Nekol but everyone calls me Nikki. I'm 312 lbs and I'm looking to drop down to 170 lbs. I have four small beautiful children in which whom I'm doing this for. I just want to stick around to see my kids off to college, get married, have children and so on. I'm a stay at home mom for now so i think well i believe this is the perfect opportunity to do this now. I'm just happy to see that I'm not doing it alone. I wasn't always this size. After i had my son 8 long years ago the baby fat just never went away and not long after that i had 3 more children who are 5,4, and 1. I've recently had an tubal ligation so no more babies for me. YAY!!! I just want my 170 lb figure back.

Hey, my name is Kipaya and I'm in the Boston area. I'm currently at 380 pounds. I've been overweight for most of my life and always had reasons not to commit to getting healthier (I'm busy, I'm not that big, etc) but I'm done with college and enough is enough. I'm ready to make my health a priority over everything else and I'm really looking forward to the day I get to post my "after" photo here. Got a long way to go like a lot of you and I'm happy not to be going it completely alone

My name is Bri, I currently live in Kentucky. I'm 21 and weigh 386 pounds. It's horrible! I've been "trying" to lose weight (with my boyfriends incessant nagging) since I was 16, but honestly I was just all talk. Now I'm actually getting my butt in gear and losing the weight. emoticon

Hi. I'm from Winnipeg , Canada. I'm 23 and currently weigh 258 lbs. I've been overweight almost my entire life and I finally decided to become serious about losing weight. I've always felt like my weight was an obstacle holding me back from living my life the way I want to. My goal is to reach my ideal weight of about 150 lbs.

Hi! I'm from Quebec, Canada. I'm 24 and someone from Facebook introduced me to this page. My starting weigh is 258 (used to weigh 265). My weight gain started after having my first child ( I used to weigh about 160 ). I gained alot since having three kids but I never exercised in between.

So here I am today, trying to lose all that weight because I'm tired of carrying it around. lol.

Hey everybody. I'm kinda shy, so it took me a while to decide to join in here and participate in teams and stuff. I'm a 20 year old art student from Cairo, Egypt. And I've been struggling with my weight all my life. So this year, I decided, I do NOT want to struggle anymore. I need to get this under control because I want to be happy and healthy before my 21st birthday, which is in November 2013.

So I eventually decided to join here, and try to get the support I feel that I need, and meet all you wonderful ladies (and gents) as well as get motivated, and hopefully help others be motivated as well. I also set up a personal blog to write daily posts about my progress. Sharing it publicly, I guess makes it more real and grounded for me, so I'm hoping this would help me stay on track and remember at all times that while I'm frustrated/tired now, it gets better, and that ultimately it's all worth it.
