Hello Everyone!,
my name is Lola and i'm 22 years old. a little over a year ago i made the decision to lose weight and since then i have lost 70 pounds! i recently moved to nyc from florida and since then, with trying to get used to the city and working a full time job, my workout and eating habits have kinda gotten thrown off. i joined spark people to get back on track and stay motivated...if anyone has any tips for me they are very welcome to comment =)

Hi, My name is Jessica and I am 24 years old and I live in Minnesota. I gained 30 lbs over the past 5 years due to severe acid reflux which caused me to not be able to eat normally or exercise regularly due to being ill, and last year I had surgery on my espohagus for the severe acid reflux and after the surgery I lost 20 lbs. over about a 4 month period becuase I was able to eat normally and exercise regularly. I am working to lose the last 10 lbs I had gained from having reflux and have hit a plateau, I feel like I have lost some motivation to work out as regualry as I had before and I am hoping that tracking my nutrition on sparkpeople and tracking my fitness will help me to gain some motivation back. I am not sure what my ideal weight is but I am 5'8" and I know when I weighed around 155 before I felt great and was healthy. Most women in my family are large build and I am not small or large built but medium or a little more and I want to maintain ahealthy lifestyle to teach my children when I have them since it was not taught in my family. I am getting married in about a week and unfortunately haven't been able to drop those last ten pounds before the wedding day but I hope to lose them by January 2012 and get off this plateau!
Jess

Hi all!
My name is Katy and I'm 22 from Lancaster. Since finishing university a year ago I gave up my active lifestyle for a sedentary 9-5 desk job. Juggling work, social and personal lives I've struggled to maintain my weight and fitness and have so far gained nearly 2 stone. Don't get me wrong, I'm still quite happy with my figure (for the first time EVER I have boobs) but I'm disappointed to be edging closer to the size 12's when I used to be a size 8. And most disappointingly, my beautiful size 10 topshop jeans refuse to stretch past my knees. So, basically, I would like some motivation to stop snacking in the evenings and get going to the gym again. It has been rumoured that the boyfriend would like to take me to Vegas and LA next year and I've spotted a rather glamorous Purple dress that I NEED :p
The goal is about 8 ilbs before February 2012 and get my running to a stage where a 5k fun run won't kill me.
Anyone who wants to join me on this journey is more than welcome, in fact, the company would be very nice.
Katy x

Hiya! I'm 24 and throughout my teens and undergrad years I weighed anywhere from 118-127, never with any dietary goals, just sort of floated along. (Had my moments of frustration, sure, but never affected me enough - obviously - to be motivated to get into shape.) Almost two years ago, some life events caused me to unintentionally lose a bit of weight, and since then, at my lowest, I've weighed about 107. Once I realized I had lost the weight, I became obsessed with keeping it off, and more conscious of my weight than ever in my life. Throughout this time, I've developed some poor eating habits, and have a few times dangerously flirted with eating disorder territory - thank goodness my logic and cognizance have kept me out of any actual plunges there.

Anyway, I'm here to be guided and inspired (and LEARN, for once) how to eat healthfully, and guilt-free.

Hello everyone! I'm Susan and I'm trying to lose 7 pounds. I went on a crash diet last summer and lost 15 pounds in about 2 months. Of course, I gained that all back and then some. Now, I'm just trying to take it a little at a time to get back down.

Hi!! I'm Kat, I'm 28 and have 2 beautiful daughters, age 3, and just turning 1. After I had my first daughter, the weight sort of just came off with no effort. But since I'm now a few years older and of course my metabolism is probably starting to slow a bit, some of the baby weight from my 1 year old is stubbornly hanging on. I'm 174-175 right now, depnding on the day. I joined a gym in July, and was going pretty regularly,, 3-4 times a week for a good 6 weeks, but only dropped 1.5 lbs. So I sort of started slacking for a while. I was sitting in my room in a sports bra today and saw just how flabby my stomach was in the mirror and was like 'OMG, I have GOT to get back in that gym". So I did today, and worked out a good hour, doing mostly core and back weight training and a mile on the treadmill! I'm hoping to lose just 10...MAYBE even 15 lbs. But I'm 5'11 and pretty big boned so anything under like 160, and I look way too skinny IMO. Anyhow, just introducing myself. My whole problem with weight loss is trying to squeeze working out in. I work full-time, go to school and have my daughters and husband to feed so its reallllly tricky to get to the gym. Sooo I'm hoping this site will help! There's so much, still trying to figure it all out!! Hope everyone has had a great weekend!!

Hi, My name is Faris. I am 23 y/o from Richmond VA and trying to drop my weight before my 1 year wedding anniversary. My husband and I met when I was just 14 and have been together ever since. While we were dating I just kept gaining and gaining weight. I hated it! When I was as big as I thought I could get, I gained my freshman 10! I was very unhappy with my weight and it started effecting my relationship. Since leaving Virginia Tech, I had lost 25 lbs, but I gained about 6 lbs back so I still have at least 10 to lose. I have never been real thin and don't care to look like a rail! I am only 5"4 but am back up to 130lbs! I am back in school for another degree while working two jobs. With working 65-70 hours a week and school work.. it is so hard to find time to work out and plan decent meals! Since my weight gain after my wedding, my husband and I have been trying to be better about the gym but it never seems to last. I have to lost 10 lbs by Oct 23 (my anni.) or I have to throw away my beloved studded belt I've been wearing since 7th grade! I am hoping this site will give me the support and ideas to keep me going! If you have any amazing recipes or simple indoor workouts let me know! I want to finally be able to wear that tight, sexy dress without feeling disgusting! If I can get to the point where I am confortable with my body and not always trying to hide it, it would be the best gift I could ever give to my husband!

Hi all!
I'm Sylvia. I will be 29 in a month and I live in Michigan.
My weight is 123 lbs, but I think I'd really prefer to be around 115 lbs. I hope I could get there in 2-4 months. I'm currently following a relatively low carb and high protein diet plan.

This site seems really nice, and allows tracking many things. Many other sites lack flexibility in changing daily target.

Anyway, nice to be here. ^^

Hi, My name is Whitney. I'm a registered dietitian from Missouri but living in Louisiana. I have 8-10 pounds to lose to reach that ever elusive goal weight. I don't have any big event coming up or any reason to lose this weight other than that I'm not happy with the weight I am now. However, staying at this weight due to increased muscle mass would absolutely be okay too!

Hi, I'm Chrissy from Australia. I have my wedding in 5.5 weeks and I would be so happy to lose just 4 kilos. It seems like such a small amount to lose but I'm actually struggling with it! I'm at my 'happy weight' at the moment and if it wasn't for the wedding then I'd stay this way... but I want to be extra trim for the wedding! I'm sure other bride to be's understand :)

Hey everyone! I am 5'3'' and recently have been feeling awful about how I look. I decided to finally get on a scale and holy moly I am 153 pounds! I have put on ten lbs in just about 3-4 months! I want to feel more confident about my weight and really want to motivate to loose these ten pounds by October for a friend's wedding. It is mostly in my thighs and stomach..which is so attractive ;P. This seems like a great site that I will log into every day. Cheers!

Hello! I'm 26 years old and I'm trying to loose 10 pounds by December. I know it sounds dumb, but that's actually harden than it seems. I'm somewhere between 143-145 and want to get down to 135. Of course, I'm only 4'9" so must of my weight is in my thighs, stomach and upper arms. YUCK!

Hi all! My name is Meaghan and I'm a 24 bride-to-be. I have always struggled with my weight, but my up-coming wedding has motivated me to live the best life I can. I am wanting to lose about 10lbs in 12 weeks and tone my upper body (my dress is strapless). I used to be fairly active, but have recently lost my motivation. I am excited to be apart of this group and I hope that I'll be able to lean on you all for support!

Hey everyone! My name is Sara and I'm 23 years old. A few years back I lost 30 lbs by changing my eating habits and discovering the gym. :) I haven't gained any back, but have definitely hit a plateau trying to get these last 10 off. Luckily my job keeps me active most days of the week and I am at the gym nearly every day as well. However, I am one of those people that forgets to eat, and I am sure due my reduced calories my metabolism has taken a plunge. Hitting my recommended calorie intake is going to be a challenge for me, and I anticipate gaining some weight before I start losing again. Whatever it takes :)

Hi everyone! I'm Mel. I'm 27 years old and have been kind of struggling with my weight for 2 years. I used to have an extremely high metabolism up till then - would eat any kind and any amount of junk food and would still fit into a size 0. But then, had a baby, hit 25 years old and quit smoking and gained weight. I've tried so many diets in the past two years, and have lost weight, but extreme restrictive dieting has caused my metabolism to slow down and have become ineffective. So I've decided to join SP to track my calories, in order to calorie cycle. :)

Hi, my name is Wanda, I'm 29 years old. I'm married and have a 2 year old son. I haven't been able to get rid of the last of my baby weight. And starting to hate it. I have tried the exercise, but could never stick to a diet. I'm a very picky eater so it's hard. Looking forward to having the help and motivation! Can't wait to get healthy and feel better about myself.

Hey everyone!! I'm getting ready to start my senior year at Purdue (yikes!), and am trying to finish my summer weight loss plan on a high note. I started the summer off at 133 back in May and at my lowest I was 124. Unfortunately, as my work schedule got more hectic it was harder for me to fit in exercise and healthy meals, and I inched back up the scale to 128. My goal is to be at 120 before classes start at the end of the month, but that's coming up fast! I hope that doing something like this will make me more accountable and keep me motivated.

Hi Everyone! My name is McKenzie & I'm 29 (yikes, I have to move to the 30s category next year). I'm looking to really use SP to help me track my exercise & food intake-especially on the weekends (my biggest downfall) to help me lose the stubborn 5+lbs I put on (after taking it off a few years ago) over the winter. In the process, I also hope to tone up, feel healthy and meet new Spark friends.

Hey all! My name is Kimberly, I've been living in Japan for 2 1/2 months but I'm wrapping up and heading back the U.S tomorrow. I feel like my diet in Japan has completely lacked in any nutrition and I haven't had access to a gym. I don't care as much about weight as about getting back to being the ripped athlete I've always been, so I'm here to recommit to a healthy, well rounded diet and a daily exercise routine.

Hi guys! I'm soon-to-be-27, and I've just joined the site as I want to pay more attention to what I'm eating as well as to exercise, you know, ever.
I'm actually feeling really excited to start this as I am hoping to properly transform my lifestyle from a wee-bit-too-sedentary to a lot more active.
If anyone wants to chat or buddy up I am happy to cheer you on/cheer you up as I know these lifestyle changes do not kick in overnight.
Look forward to getting to know you all :)

Hello everyone, I'm Ashley emoticon In recent years I've been a stay at home mom, but now I'm also going school. Right now I'm just taking 2 classes but I'll be a full time student come fall quarter.
I've been on my weight loss journey for quite a while now, and am FINALLY in the last 10 stretch. With the addition of going back to school, I don't have as much to work out as I used to, so it's been kinda hard figuring out what it's going to take to lose the last lbs.... those lbs are definitely being difficult too ;)

Hey, I'm 21, 5'4". Started off at 122.5 but i'm down to 120lbs now, aiming for 115. My goal date is the end of August, so I'm losing it quite slowly and healthily I think. Slowly trying to get exercise into my routine and just cutting out all the junk and large portions. Good luck to everyone, I'm excited to start seeing real results!

Hello fellow 20-somethings :)
I skipped the instructions on how to post here, so hopefully I'm doing it right :)

I work full time as a nurse, and while that is DEFINITELY some serious exercise, it's not quite cutting it as my metabolism starts to slow down. I have never been overweight, but I'm cursed with the kind of body that needs to stay exACTly where it is, otherwise my jeans don't fit!! If I get a size up, they sag and droop, and we all know THAT's not attractive! ;)

In my personal experience, it is extremely challenging to try and watch what you eat when you have less than 10 lbs to lose, because others who see you don't understand and just give you grief. That's why I'm here, a member of this group...I'd love to give and receive encouragement from people in my same situation :)

Thanks in advance :)

Hey there, Everyone! My name is Tiffany. I am 29 from Arkansas. I have been married 9 years and have a 8 year old son. This year has presented some emotional challenges with the lose of our second child back in march. It really brought me down. When it comes to my weight I am about 130 and not really looking to lose any, but I won't complain if I do. I am really just looking to tone up what I have and to help me feel better about myself. I have been doing this program for 3 days now and I already feel better and have more energy. My family notices a difference in my attitude and everything so I am really looking forward to the next few weeks.

Hey everyone! Im a 28 yr old F with about 9 lbs to lose...I slacked off big time after my 2nd child and now that she is almost 2 years old I am seeing the scale go back up instead of continuing to go down! I am a yoga girl and go to class about 2-3 times/week but have thrown all cardio completely out the window. My clothes are tight and Im wishing I could throw on a big bulky sweater but its too HOT! I eat pretty healthy meals but have a serious sweet tooth and am not very good about portion control! I look forward to getting back to my happy weight and feeling strong again! Glad to have you all for support!

Hello all!

I am 25 years old and from the south suburbs of Chicago.
I am currently 130 lbs but would like to get to around 120.
I was 125 in high school and I was very athletic. Now with work and everything else going on, it's hard to keep my diet in check. I am however doing the beachbody dvd workouts and will be starting a new one on Monday. I just need to get rid of my bat wings and my slightly flabby belly!

Hi everyone,

I am a 23 year old female from Canada. I am 5'5" and I weigh 131 lbs. I am at a healthy weight, but I noticed I have been steadily gaining about 2 pounds a year, and I want this to stop! Just trying to stay motivated, and flatten my jiggly tummy :)

Hi there. I have been a member of sp since March and I lost 8kgs. During the last 3 weeks I deviated from my diet and workouts so I would like to be back on track. I still want to lose at least from 4 to 9kgs. My first target is to reach the 65kgs and then I will think about the next 5kgs. Today I bought the Wii game My Fitness Coach Club and it is a very good programme in my opinion. So far I am enjoying it.

I would like a buddy to share my experience with him/her so if you are interested please contact me! :)

Hi everyone! I'm Alison. I just turned 28 two days ago. I'd like to lose about 10 pounds. Man, are they hard to lose (in my experience). My body is clearly happy right where it is, and doesn't want to let go. I'm here to do it by the end of the summer, before I go back to grad school. Hello to everyone!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! I'm Rachel. I'm a few weeks shy of turning 29. I've lost about 15lbs over the past 6 months and have hit a slump recently. I'd like to lose about another 10-15. I'm hoping to find the extra motivation and resources here to get back on track. I'm currently training for a 5K in the middle of August and am realizing that I kind of like running.

23 years old, I have not been active since high school. I never was motivated to exercise because I was always thin. College happened.. then grad school... and now since I have a lot more free time I am dedicated to getting into shape. Not really looking to change a pant size, but it would be nice to not be out of breath while going up a few flights of steps! I began my fitness journey in March and I have lost about 5 pounds, a few inches everywhere, and I definitely find i have greater endurance, strength and flexibility. Eating right is probably the most challenging thing for me. After years of abusing my body with fast food, laziness, and alcohol, I'm ready to treat my body better! I've also started doing yoga and have made it a goal not only for fitness but as a life long practice... I'm really loving it so far. I am open to any advice and pointers for 20 somethings.
