Hi Natalie, you are always welcome back and to post about frustrations and accomplishments. Tracking certainly helps me always even if it shows that I've had more than enough. I am the only one that I am fooling if I don't keep myself accountable. Good luck with the next part of your journey!

Hi Natalie,
welcome back, I'm glad you are here with us again!
Like you, I find it helps me a lot to hand out with people who care about their health and want to maintain a healthy weight.
This group (and SP in general) is a reality check for me,
shows me it is normal and beneficial to eat well and be active,
even if this behavior is rare in the Real World.

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings

I love this group too - maintain does not mean never need to work to get BACK to a happy weight - it means we maintain the can-do, positive, I'm worth it attitude.

Thank you all so much for the support and welcoming attitude! You guys are awesome! I feel like I'm in the right place :). It's good for me to be around like minded people who are able to maintain. I feel like it's healthier for me, does that make sense?

I have 2 good friends, one is maintaining and living a healthy lifestyle, she is focused on being healthy...the other is jumping from one diet to the next and is always putting herself down. It's better for my mental well-being to be around those who think of weight loss in terms of trying to be healthy.

Thank you all again! It was so heart warming to see all these replies! 😙❤

Hi Natalie. emoticon . I believe maintaining is much much hard than losing weight. If i counted every time I gained a few pounds back since 2012 it would be alot. The most I gained back was 20-25 and that was after having my right knee replaced. I do the 5% weight loss challenges and I just finished losing the last of it during the Spring challenge. emoticon We just started the summer challenge today and when I weighed in I am up 3.2 lbs. Our bodies are constantly changing and our lives are forever changing. I just joined a gym so I upped my calories. I guess it was a mistake. I will adjust. We live and we learn. We are also human and need reinforcement, and support. I have been a member of SP since 2011 and spin the wheel everyday. I know I need the support, there is nothing wrong with that. i need the nutrition tracker.

I love SparkPeople

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I am responsible for my own happiness.

My name is Bonnie I live in CT DST

I went from 258 to 126 pounds and have maintained it since 12/28/12.

I totally agree with Nell. Thats all part of maintaining...coming back and doing what you know, how to do. The most important thing is you are here !!,

Welcome back! Once a maintainer, always a maintainer, I say. You lost it, you tried your hand at maintaining, and now you find you need a bit more support maintaining. More power to you, and you're not alone! You *do* belong here. None of us is perfect! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Welcome back! We're a nonjudgemental group. Know you're not the only one here who has struggled with regain. You may want to subscribe to the current maintenance challenge thread, and join us in the next one.

I wasnt able to login under my original profile, so i had to create a new one a little while ago.

Ive been a little embarassed to post on here because first of all this place is for maintainers, and 2nd of all i thought I had this all figured out, the whole weight loss thing.

Im back because I cant seem to do this on my own. I keep wanting to either not eat at all, or say "screw it" and eat a lot. I guess i need support.

For the last few days I've been doing well, eating fairly healthy, and tracking my calories again. If i eat healthy, but dont overeat, it seems to decrease the urge to skip meals or binge.

After a season of trying different things, and just sort of giving up, I am back up to 151. And as im getting older, the extra weight on my 5 ft frame starts to affect me in new ways that it didn't before.

So, anyways, this is just me saying "Hi! I'm back! Can I hang out with you guys again?"
