Hi everyone! My name is Sara! Pleased to meetcha!
I am so pumped to be doing spark people! I've been on Weight Watchers for a year and a half, but I really love how I can meet more specific nutritional goals with this program! I'm even more excited to have found a group of crazy Catholics to walk on this journey with! Praise Jesus! :o)

Hello Everyone!

My name is Mandi, I am a long time user of the site - but just learning how to use it!

I just recently (April) completed the RCIA class, and I have been a confirmed Catholic since April. I love my faith, and it means the world to me. I am very excited to join a group who is dedicated to the same things I am!

God Bless You All!

Thanks for that link, Matthew. Very cool. My dh and I spent some time glancing through it. The first language he wanted me to check? Klingon. We were disappointed it wasn't there.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

And yes, cj, that is the Latin. Next time you hear someone sing the Ave Maria, I expect you'll be listening a little closer to the words! :D

Also, if you want to see the Our Father in over 1600 languages (plus the Hail Mary in many as well), visit: www.christusrex.org/www1/pater/

Hello!

My name is Matthew: 38, single, overweight, Catholic, living in St. Louis.... yeah, what else do you want to know? I work at the Cathedral in St. Louis as sacristan and fixing computers. I spent one year at seminary (2009-10), but needed to take time off for further discernment and to deal with some personal issues.

I am 110% Catholic! (I'm also a mathematician and know that's impossible, but whatever!) I love the Church. I've been Christian my whole life, but entered the Holy Catholic Church on Easter of 2002. Almost nine years....

Hope to meet some new friends here... especially if you're in St. Louis! (We can head over to the Majestic on Euclid for some Greek diner food.... yum.) Finally.....

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

Hello,
My name is Gerri. I am 34, married and the mother of one 6yo daughter.
I was raised Catholic, and attended Catholic schools k-12.
My husband is not Catholic, but does attend mass Me, we were married in the Church and our daughter was baptised Catholic as an infant.

We do not go to Mass weekly but do go more than just Christmas and Easter! In recent months I have been feeling a bit lost, and after going to Mass I felt a peace that I was missing. I know that is God's presence in my life, and I need to continue making Him a #1 priority in our home, and in my marriage. Praying before meals, and going to church on days that we don't sleep in is not enough! Sunday morning Mass needs to be always on the schedule first, and other things happen around it; not the other way around.

Just yesterday I was asked to be a Confirmation sponsor for a very dear girl that I have known since her infancy. (I was her nanny for 7 years!) I am hoping that my new faith journey will coincide with hers and we can use this very special time to bond on a more spiritual level.
This looks like a fairly active group, and I look forward to sharing discussion about our spiritual as well as weight loss journeys.

Gerri

Hello everyone!

I have been on Spark for a few months now. For quite awhile I have felt this tug in my belly and my heart which is God calling me home. I was baptised and raised Lutheran, but I am currently undergoing RCIA classes.

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Peace be with you,

Hi Kathleen!
Nice to meet you.

Welcome to SparkPeople and to the Catholic Critters Team!

Was it this past May that you celebrated 20 years? Or next May, when your son also celebrates First Communion?

My dh and I just celebrated our 20th this past May - the 26th.

Hi! "Marge" is fine. Here in Honduras, everyone calls me "Sister" - after so many years as principal, that's how they know me! But back in the USA, all my friends and family call me Marge.

Anna - welcome back to sparkpeople. Congratulations on going through RCIA last year. My brother was talking about taking it. I hope he does.

Barb - congratulations on your daughter's impending graduation from college. I pray that all goes well with your health issues. When I was at my heaviest, I had a lot of pain in my feet and knees. It certainly got better when I had lost 30 pounds. I wish the same for you as well!

Marge - do you prefer Sister Marge, or Marge?

WAKEMEFRIDAY - congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Marci - I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide your study of the Faith.

Hi. My name is Marge and I am 69 years old. I am a Sister of Mercy, from RI (although I was born in Pittsburgh, PA and lived there until I was 12). I have been living and serving in La Ceiba, Honduras, since 1966. We have a co-ed junior high and high school, and I was principal and taught Math to the seniors until three years ago, when I retired. I should say semi-retired, since I still work part-time in the school in the Pastoral Dept.

I joined SP in September, with the goal of losing weight and being strong, healthy and flexible in this stage of my life.

Hi,
I recently rejoined SP after having surgery this year. My daughter graduates from college this year and I want to lose weight so that when I go to graduation I can walk around her campus with out to much pain. I honestly do not think I will not have any pain but less pain would make me happy. I do not want to bore you with all the details of how I got to where I am so the short story is: Nineteen years ago doctors misdiagnosed a problem in my back that left me partially paralyzed in both legs. Recently(2007) I tore the meniscus in both knees and had the left one repaired but not the right (it does not hurt as much). This year the doctor decided to repair the weakness in my left ankle from the nerve damage caused 19 years ago that has gotten worse over the years. Now I want to lose more weight in the hopes that it will lessen the pain in my knees, ankles and hips.

My husband recently retired from the military after 25 years and I recently was laid off from my job. So, with more time on my hands I decided it was time to take care of me and get more involved with the church.

Hello =) I'm Anna and I'm a 27 year old recent Catholic convert living in sunny Jacksonville, Florida. I went through RCIA last year and joined the church at the Easter Vigil back in March. I am currently sponsoring a friend/co-worker through RCIA this year, and am also involved in my parish's CRHP program.

I am a former Spark member who has come back with hopes of staying motivated. God is my ultimate motivation, and I want to take excellent care of this body He has given me. I'm so looking forward to making some great Catholic friends on here!

Grace and blessings,
Anna

I'm Diana. I'm a professional actress who went through RCIA in 2003. Shortly thereafter, I auditioned for LATE NITE CATECHISM and got the part. It's a one-woman show in which I play a nun, and the audience is my class. I do fund raisers all over the country (and Canada), and professional theatres book the show too. Because I have to really know a lot about being Catholic during a question and answer period, I've really gotten into studying my faith. The more I learn, the more I love! I've also met many real, live nuns who are now dear, dear friends.

My name is Missy and after 12 years of Catholic school I turned away from the church. I'm slowly winding my way back and saw this group on a spark friend's page. Thought I might pop in here for some inspiration. I'm an Air Force wife and mother of one. We're currently stationed at Peterson AFB in Colorado. Looking forward to gaining some clarity. emoticon

emoticon Cecly Ann and Stephanie!! Good to have you join us.

Cecly - did I miss an 'i' out in your name? Or did I spell it correctly?

Hi! I'm Stephanie. I was very excited to discover this site via another SparkFriend (MRSMILLER777)! I am in Indianapolis, IN and will likely be transplanting to Pittsburgh, PA in the near future...God willing!

Can't wait to get involved on this team!
