this is what i got for an answer to my question about cardio and strength training. ijustpaste it.

Yes, when you do cardio you will burn many calories, depending on the intensity of the exercise. I highly suggest you buy a heart rate monitor which will accurately track your calories burned (I found mine on ebay.com for cheap).

When you strength train, you can definitely do the lower body one day, and then do the upper body the next day. You just have to be sure to give each muscle a day off inbetween workouts. And it really doesn't matter when you exercise, your body can't tell the difference... either morning, afternoon, or evening, whatever is more convienent for you! You can even break up it up into segments throughout the day!

I wasn't eating too much on weekend - I ate as much as usually. This are just daily fluctuactions and I'm not worried about that. :)

I plan to lose 8,8 (4 kg) every month - but if I don't lose this amout it's ok too. I'm satisfied as long as it's loss and I can honestly day I'm really doing everything for losing weight.

I don't plan month to month goals- I just know how much I want to lose in the long run. I feel if I set a month to month goal and don't make it then I will be disappointed in letting myself down.

173.2: my lowest in more than a year! Yippee!! I'm not in too good shape though, but school will be over this week and I want to begin a little strength training since I'll have more time on my hand.

Metkec: I had no goal for the whole month of June, except to weigh 175 on June 20. Next goal: 165 for July 22... I think it's a little ambitious, but I plan to be really serious about my health and my weight loss this Summer. Nothing too drastic though: it's no use loosing all that weight if it "returns" later in the year because I have less time for sports and healthy cooking, etc.

Every choice counts.

just like u, GLENCORAP, i am abt 1 kg (2.2 lbs) frm my 10% loss. i am hoping i achieve that.

considering we'll be leaving for vacation around June 28th i am more interested in being able to stay away frm the net and still eat right. i can take the laptop wt me but...hey, it's a VACATION! LOL turns out to be pretty easy though.

Metka...I didn't really have a goal for June. We did a lot of traveling, and I just hoped that I didn't blow it too badly. I guess, too, I hope I've lost 10% - 18lbs -- by the end of the month. That is 3 more lbs.

to be very honest...i don't know. last month i've lost abt 9 lbs...this month so far...i've lost well 1 lb LOL or 2 lbs if i consider last Monday's official weight in.

so should i aim for any goal? LOL

Ladies, what are your goals for June? My goal is to get down to 216,2 - that's 4,4 lbs more for this month. This month I have already lost 7,26 lbs.

since i am moving as fast as a snail...i decided to set my first GW 62 kg or 137 lbs, the weight where my BMI would be 25. now it's 27.2

i've set as goal for this GW Aug 1st. i'll see if i'll re-adjust when i come back frm vacation. i am still hoping for 55 kg (121 lbs) by mid-Sept though

Don't give up because your weight stands still or it yo-yo's--that is just normal. If you are exercising you are more than likely gaining muscle weight and that is heavier than fat. And it's that weekly weight lose that really counts because we all fluctuate day to day. Also the big thing is the measurements. I have gone from 189.2-190.4-190.8-191.2-190.4. As you can see each day it was different. I was starting to worry because it kept climbing each day- This really isn't bad though considering it is the TOM and I use to gain 5 pounds a week before. So keep up your heads and just keep doing what you're doing.

Thank God there are others like me! When I am successful with loss, I am weighing myself daily. When I stop doing that, I start to get sloppy. How dumb is that? I lost 40 pounds but have seen the scale go up and down 5-7 pounds since then. The overriding message from SP is to NOT weigh daily. When I listen to that, I start to gain. No more--I'm glad there are others like me.

congrats to u first!:) just under 100 kg is awsome!

well i do blame the scale for starters cause it's kind of weird when it reads 3 different numbers (and yes the battery is like 1 month old). i suck at taking measurements. i never seem to figure out the exact spot and end up wt weird numbers LOL but all my clothes are loose so that's a good thing

oh well i'll get down to 68 kg these days mostly cause my fiance promised some long walks today and tomorrow ;) and yes i stick to 1200 cal and lots of fiber

Cristina, muscles weigh more that fat - maybe that's why the scale is standing still. Take measurements of your body and you'll see where do you stand. I'm sure you lost lots of cm's. And if the clothes are loose ...

still 69 kg or 152.11 lbs... or better said the scale didn't decide weather it's 69 kg or 68.5 kg (151 lbs)

for the past two days i've eaten abt 1200 cal/day and done my cardio (yesterday 20 min of belly dancing beside walking) and yesterday managed to drink 7 glasses of water. now...what excuses do i have for my self? ok even though it's a digial scale it wasn't an expensive one (heck i paid like 10$ for it LOL) and it can read only half kilos (i.e. 69kg - 68.5kg) and half a kilo really means 1.1 lbs...then if i use lbs it can only read by lb and not by oz (i.e 152-153lbs)...so i really hope it's not my fault but the scales....

and i took a very good look in the miror today and i can really see changes (both me and my fiance). am i bulding muscles and the body is taking way too much to adjust?! i won't freak out till the end of the month but if i won't go anly lower by then i am in for a major change (gotta figure out which one though)

Good morning :)

Weighed 158lbs this morning. It had everything to do with daily fluctuation and nothing to do with the half packet of chips eaten at 1.30am while watching a movie (...)

Today I gained again- well it was only 1/4 pound so I guess that is not bad as long as it doesn't continue. However it is that TOM. Good luck all.
