@DRAGONPRYF well hydrated people don't usually have a problem with the loo .... those with health issues or over-hydration often do. If your urine is clear, cut the fluid back a little and you will see some positive results re the loo.

When I was being investigated for a potential serious health condition, my Specialist noted I was going to the loo quite a bit. He KNEW I was drinking 1.25L of fluid a day (approx. 6 cups) and suggested I cut back. My urine was clear so no problem. I cut back to 5 cups daily, and no longer had those extra loo trips. My urine became a very pale colour. It makes it far more pleasant when going out.

"If you're not thirsty, you are getting "enough" water. You never need to force yourself to drink just because some formula says you should.

I also agree with that statement.

Be guided by the colour of your urine, too. If it is clear, then odds are you are getting more than enough and can afford to cut back a little. If it is dark or has a smell, then increase your liquid.

It doesn't have to be 'water' either. Liquid is liquid. It is just that water is calorie free.

ALSO remember, there is often a fair bit of fluid in the food we eat. fruit/veges have a high water content, and even cheese has water to a degree. If you are like me and eat heaps of fruit/veges, and also eat a lot of casseroles, then odds are you are getting a load more fluid than you realize.

I get my water in by filling up my 32 ounce bottle with a mix of tap and flavored water for a little zip. Drink a glass upon waking, with each meal, and I try to remember to drink throughout the day. Filled up twice and there is my 64 ounces for the day.

I find it is more effective to think of this in smaller units, than to try to tackle the idea of at least 8 glasses of water each day. So I instead think of 1 or 2 glasses on awakening, 2 glasses at each meal, 1 or 2 glasses at some other time of day. Often I have a bottle of water (usually filled from the tap) at hand for sipping throughout the day. It is almost effortless when I do it this way. emoticon emoticon emoticon
