Oh, yes. I did enroll in my health insurance company's 8-week diabetes coaching program with a certified dietician. It was great. I'm just using SparkPeople as the mechanism to keep me on track! Thank you, again.

You're welcome! You might also ask your doctor for a referral to see a registered dietitian who can help create a diabetes meal plan specific to your needs. Your doc should be able to do that for you.

Oh, thank you for responding so promptly! That is so helpful. I will pick the diabetic meal plan and select vegetarian and then just substitute as appropriate to reach vegan. I did click on a food in the meal plan and it popped up substitutes, which is new since the last time I joined SparkPeople. I will just assume that the diabetic meal plan is very close to heart healthy since diabetes increases the risk of heart disease (and I don't have heart disease yet just high blood pressure that is under control with medication and a vegan diet).

This is wonderful information and I'm so glad I rejoined SparkPeople! Thank you, thank you!

Hello!

We don't offer prediabetic meal plans, only diabetic ones. Those will be slightly different from the heart healthy meal plans, so you'd probably need to pick one or the other. You can't select vegetarian once you sign up for the diabetes plan, but you can select vegetarian in your meal preferences, then sign up for the diabetes plan and I think it should work. We don't offer vegan meal plans, so you would still need to make some modifications.

Let me know if you need help with any of that. Thanks!

My A1C numbers move been Type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. Should I register for the diabetic or prediabetic meal plan? Also, I would like to do heart healthy; would that be covered under the diabetic management program? I am vegan, so I guess I can just substitute the meat in the meal planning. Does that make sense? Thank you for any insight you can give me!!!
