Every Saturday, first thing in the morning in undies, socks and nighty. I found that if I weigh daily, I get a little overly obsessed with the scale. But my hubby weighs himself every day, cheers the losses and moans the gains. This serves as a motivator for him, so I cheer him on.

All things are possible.

Every Monday at the gym for my "official" (recorded in SP) weight, occasionally throughout the week on a scale at home, more for my curiosity, since I can't weigh myself naked before drinking my morning water at the gym :-D

It's best to weigh yourself everyday. Your weight fluctuates and if you weigh yourself on an off day when you gained a couple pounds you will lose hope and get depressed and give up on your goals.

I try to weigh daily b/c it helps me to stay on track. Others prefer to weigh once a week.

Daily weigher for over 6 years now. It was a great learning tool during my weight loss phase (learned how it's normal for my weight to fluctuate day to day, and to understand how trends work), and now in maintenance I use my daily weigh-ins as part of my weight management plan, to keep me on track and within my maintenance window.

~*Sara*~ 5+ years into maintenance (current bmi is 22.8). Transitioning to a more whole foods, plant based woe (following a mesh of DASH diet and Blue Zones).

I weigh on my fitbit synced scale daily but I only look at weekly averages for comparison but it lets me know immediately if I had a reaction to what I ate the day before - quickest way for me to find problem foods.

It's the struggle that makes the butterfly strong enough to fly! Never give up the fight, it will be worth it.

When I started I didn't weigh for several weeks. Then I started weighing a few times/week using Thursday as my office weigh in day. And I check the trend line. Important to pay attention to the non scale victories like feeling better & more energetic, clothes fitting better, inches lost. It's not just all about the number.

Persistence is more important than perfection.

Don't assume your freedoms are assured.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

I totally agree with Shoapie!!
I also weigh every day, but I record it, average the seven days and really focus on that Weekly Average. It is this overall trend that tells you how you are doing--not any given day! My weight easily fluctuates by up to 2 or 3 pounds a day. That's the result of basic Biology: how much food our digestive track is holding, are we dehydrated--or really well hydrated, what kind of food (think salty equals temporary weight gain!), how much exercise, and probably more factors---but you get the idea.

I would suggest you just hold off for now, since you are starting out. How you are feeling is really far more important than what number is between your toes in any case. The fact you are noticing how you feel is an important part of your Journey. All the best,

I weigh everyday but for you, you need to remember that the scale can change day to day. Use it as a guideline but be prepared for frequent ups and downs. Don’t let it dictate your life.
