There are so many exercises that can be done at home! The many videos here on SP and YouTube, the variety of styles, at different levels of fitness, it is amazing. I especially like the ones for mobility impaired since I have to do most of my workouts from a chair or bed. Lots of ways to get moving and stay in shape!

Ring Fit Adventure is great! I love fitness video games. I'm big on Just Dance lately as well.

Other than those, I follow cardio kickboxing and cardio dance videos on YouTube, workout videos here on Sparkpeople, as well as walk/jog on the treadmill and pedal on the stationary bike here at home. I find I always have lots of options and there's always something I'm up for when it's time to exercise. I don't plan on going to a gym anytime soon and am investing in personal exercise equipment instead.

As you hold on... as long as you do what's in your heart... I believe you can do the right thing.

As some may have noticed I have been posting that I have made a great leap to the past and am currently using q programme published 107 years ago (1913) At the 151 workouts point I am pleased with the results with this ancient model body.Frpm high repetitions with 2 pound dumbbells, I progressed to 3 pounders ( that reads like the nomenclature of an old artillery piece) I am currently using 5 pound dumbbells. I can complete the 21 exercises I am doing in under 18 minutes. Seems our great grandfathers knew what they were doing.

It is called WORK-ing out for a reason.

I said getting fit was simple, I did not say it was easy.

Cardio burns calories, strength work burns fat.

Eat well to lose weight, exercise to get fit

You can not build a six pack using twelve packs

Often when we seek a magic bullet for fitness we end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

I agree. Jogging, hiking and getting outside are working pretty well for me right now, and a major yard work project is taking care of strength work. But if gyms are closed in the fall (or I don't think that going to them is the right thing to do), I am going to have to come up with some new ideas as the weather gets bad.

The gyms and clubs are closed, trainers resorting to attempting to retain and train clients by using Zoom at home and some of the people are reverting to being couch potatoes. .There are alternatives for those who want to take advantage of them. Working out is going to be a challenge for some time so a minimal investment in alternative fitness gear is a viable option. A first option is doing body weight exercises for resistance work and walking, running or a jump rope for cardio.Alternative to body weight work you can invest in some inexpensive resistance bands, Walmart has those and adjustable length jump ropes in stock. Lifeline-usa.com in Madison, WI has a comprehensive catalog of home fitness equipment available for home delivery.
